    Is there anyway to remove the disc drive from the bottom of the console without removing the motherboard? I want to avoid cutting out the rivets

    • @EasyConsoleFixes
      @EasyConsoleFixes  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, you would have to remove the motherboard and it would require a lot more disassembly to come at this from the other side.
      It's worth noting that depending on the exact model PS4 you have you might have screws instead of the rivets. If you do have the rivets you could also replace with screws after cutting if you wanted.

      This is what I did, I used a pen to hold the disc inserter open, then used a flashlight to see inside and eyelashes pliers to grab it out. The hole time the PS4 was vertical so it would be easier to fall out.

      If the console is not allowing the disc to eject it sounds like a mechanical problem. Does the console make noise when you try and eject the disc.

      You could always pick up a replacement disc drive on eBay and try and swap it out. You have nothing to lose if the PS4 is not working anyway.
