I'm a native ATLien. Atlanta really ain't that bad compared to other cities. It's generally pretty chill just about everywhere. I'll go anywhere anytime in Atlanta if I have to. I'm not worried about anyone bothering me. You have to look people in the eye and acknowledge them in passing. Once you do that you've established mutual respect. It goes a long way in Atlanta. If you walk around fearful, people can sense it. Be fearless, be respectful. None of us asked for the cards we were dealt in this life
I've been both following Charlie and saying this for years - his work should be shown in solo exhibitions at every major American museum (and the rest of the world too) in the country. There is no other living artist/human being who captures the American condition more candidly, respectfully and poetically than Charlie. There's no need to possess an education or to intellectualise what you're seeing when you watch his videos - they speak directly to everybody's relationship with humanity in one way or another and more broadly to the cosmos that birthed us. You're my favourite living artist Charlie. I really hope to see your work recognised with the respect it so readily deserves one day.
Check out other Atlanta hoods like grove park, center hill, adamsville, Lakewood heights, Cleveland Ave, Brannon hills in clarkston, memorial dr in Stone Mountain, etheridge court and Oakland city.
Which is pretty badass tbh. With how slow he's driving someone might've gotten ticked off and tossed something into the window, like that weirdo at the crossing

She was so nice. I was soon told to not date her because her brothers and friends would not approve. It was sad. Very sad. I got some really bad vibes. I suffered reverse racism. It really made me see things in a perspective I’d never seen.

After 8-years of living in downtown Atlanta, I still enjoy it. Nobody gives you any slack and there's always something to see. I do wish, however, that the idiots on dirtbikes/ATV's would all simultaneously hit the side of an 18-wheeler going full speed. Jesus, they're a nuisance.
