In mid-January came a firmware update for the 2020... After installing this, my gimbal no longer tilted. Now I see again a clear "hanging of the horizon" in the footage of your 2020. Does that mean that the problem occurs again after a while - despite the firmware update? By the way: Good job!
im not sure why this happened to be honest,i never noticed horizon tilt until this video in the 2020.i will contact fimi and get them to enable the gimbal calibration tool in my app

Nice comparison, very helpful comparison. That said I've had 2 2020 and the 2nd and current 2020 of mine has been tuned up a bit with a proper aftermarket rp sma set of connections for patch panel, dipoles, circular polarized or clover leaf. I generally run Aomway blue rectangular 5.8 panel and a 8 turn rhcp helical long range, I get out there to the claims on the 2022 box with the 2020. No breakup or imagine issues as long as open sky. The camera I've removed the gimbal glass and manually focused, as well as replacement of the cheap plastiglass gimbal glass original camera lense glass with the iphone 13pro replacement glass lens kit. Big differences can be obtained by a little tinkering. Much can be said about learning all the variables in the settings. I don't feel it's a stretch to say I can't see a cost worthy difference myself buying the 22 over the 20, it's all what are willing to do to get your 2020 up to snuff. Easy peasy lemon squeezey she's a looker boys I tell you what you can do it with either of these two gals. Happy flying all ✌️.
Btw perhaps shortly in the future I'll set up my channel properly and upload some videos for you guys to see in comparison. I've never uploaded anything to yt but I think I will share some of my hobby drone footage from the x8se20 there soon for sharing what they're actually capable of if you want to invest a few hours of tinkering. I guess as long as I don't monitize anything I would be fine, keep a eye out I guess I'll get it done eventually here hopefully this month. Happy flying again everybody, can't hardly lose with either bird model depending on your skill level and willingness to bring the 2020 up closer to the 2022 capabilities. I just wish they'd fix the vfr to cfr in a firmware update for both 20 and 22, the 2018 is cfr no stutter concerns in transferring the video. C'mon Fimi please fix this.
cool,i knew the 2020 can be focused in better,i just never had the nerve to tinker with mine for the price i paid for it,i tried modding my sjrc f11 in the past with no luck as the drone never flew corect again and would always crash after the mod so tearing apart a drone that cost twice as much didn't feel rite...lol..i would like to know the links to the gear you used for your fimi 2020 tho if you don't mind sharing....so if the 2020 can be focused im wondering how much better can the 2022 get or is that all that fimi done is take a 2020 model and adjust the lens and added better antenna for signal and called it a 2022...makes u think doesn't it

I can tell the difference, the 2022 image is sharper than the 2020 version. but, I did noticed at different angle on the 2020 version , later in the flight, the image , got a little sharper. @ 10:40
when i finnished editing this and reviewed it i could also see a little bit of jello in the 2020 version rite around when i flew it near the beach,the 2022 version does look so much better especially if i had of adjusted the iso levels a bit more,i tried it on auto settings but the picture was just to blown out with white.All in all i still enjoy the 2020 version and its still a good drone but the upgraded camera on the 2022 makes it so much more enjoyable,especially where it can handle higher winds than the 2020
They both have lag - the 2022 version has a horrific jelloing if you watch the waves. The 2022 video colors are atrocious. If I was to purchase one from your test alone it would be the 2020.
really bad decision going for the 2020,i know the colors are bad in the 2022 but it can be fixed by turning the white balance to flourescent,as for jello i don't see it and the 2020 version has terrible range on the video signal and i mean terrible as it loses it out around the 300 meter mark,ive had the 2022 out over 1km with no issues
@@capeRCouple I've got a 2020 and I can't understand how you lose signal at 300 meters, I've had my 2020 out much,much farther with no problem, but i'm in the US so my drones signal is not reduced as in many countries. You must be in a bad area or there is something wrong with your drone. Maybe your drones transmitting power is reduced to meet your countries requirements.

Hi, great comparison. I am thinking about purchasing x8 se 2020 used one for about half price of new 2022. Now because of your movie I don't know what to do:) Two most important things, camera and connection are way better in 2022... What about a lot of problems users had with previous versions? I mean many technical problems, with RC, with drone and in general in different quality of the same drones... Do you think it's improved in 2022 and the probability of buying good one which will be working fine for years without any troubles is possible? If in a year, I will be forced to but for ex. new RC and new camera...... the costs will be much higher than the drone only. Maybe close to Mavic products in the next year.... I heard also about terrible helpdesk of Fimi.
fimi has terrible quality control so if u do buy i would be testing it out rite away and yes they are very hard to deal with for replacement as they want all kinds of proof before replacing your item,to be honest it is like playing the lottery when buying fimi,you may get a good one or you may get one with issues..off hand i can say the 2022 model has horizon issues and hopefully they fix it with firmware updates,i also experienced some switching from gps to atti mode but that did stop and keep a gps lock after maybe 30 seconds or so
The new model has sharper footage with more details but the colours are bad here, everything is too yellow (I'm using your bottom right image as a baseline colour, most likely it has more accurate colours than both drones). The new model has a horizon tilt issue as well and it's very noticeable :( The old model has a very visible tilt issue and for some reason is unusually blurry so I suspect a dirty lens or maybe some bad setting applied. But colours look better, more accurate than 2022.
