    Well done ladies! You do it your way and don't pay attention to all those who know better! You won't see them do something, right? You all are great people who do a wonderful job there! ❤

    Now there's a project for you: digging out the gravel enough so that the water can pass. Eventually it will clear itself if you get it started. The next heavy rain it will clear completely if you get it started.
    Good job, as always!

    I often wonder how they decide on what size culvert to put in. Often see quite small ones on raging rivers and like today a lot of very large with little water. Anyway a good job as usual.

    With the state of those culverts and the shale, looks like flash floods go at least up to the road regularly. I grew up around shale and I can understand how those culverts filled up like that. You both certainly did the best you could on these, but I hope your state can do better flood intervention some day really, really soon!

    I couldn’t help giggle, when mom took a little stick from the top of the culvert and threw it with the other debris. This is the lady who regularly and nonchalantly throws logs down the culverts! Of course the culverts were blocked by all those stones but, still oddly funny to me. 🤪 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

    That last one you want to fill that hole in on the side as if the water keeps going in there it will undermine the road and wash it out over time.

    Doing a great job clearing the culverts but i did wonder why you threw all the branches etc 20 odd feet behind you . The very high water line dumped stuff on top of those culverts which means where you dumped all the stuff will float on back..
    Is it more risky putting it into the culverts when lack of water pressure is not there but would get pushed through with a flood.
    Keep it up girls as doing an important job.

    • @culvertsandmore
      @culvertsandmore  Год назад +7

      Yes I agree and sometimes we do put them inside and we get so many complaints about doing it that way. So either way we get comments about the way we do it 🤔

    • @MaditaFin
      @MaditaFin Год назад +3

      @@culvertsandmore You should put them where it's the most practical. So if putting them into the culvert to wait for the next flood is the smartest thing to do in the long run I would do it despite the complaints here.

    • @culvertsandmore
      @culvertsandmore  Год назад +4

      most of the time we decide that based on the water flow at the time. if there isn't enough to get bigger stuff through then we try not to do it. but we completely understand what you mean and where you are coming from on that. thanks for the advice!

      The only reason i brought it up as I follow Post10 who shows and does amazing things on cleaning many things and explains what he does and why. Big logs he will put through if movable and if not the DOT will be contacted.. That lad goes into water chest deep and knows what he is doing.
      Your doing it your way and keeping safe and are limited in what you can do as not everyone can do what you do and respect you for your help. Keeping culverts clear is a full time job and enjoying your videos

  • @jennieswensson463

    Just curious ...as these are large culverts would it not be easier/better to put the blockages through them rather than putting it up on a bank where they can wash down and cause another blockage at the same place?

    moving logs from the entrance of a culvert and placing them little further away.
    With the next storm all the logs can drift to and block the culverts again... 🤔
