It turns out that distance helped the brig more than it helped the sloop this time as closing in just made the double snipes easier Sponge and Nessie, do you ever spam Blunder bombs to turn the enemy ship around? You could cross the helm and blunder the rear to force them to nose you, then they lose cannon angle and you have enfilade fire. Then again, taking pressure off enemy cannon even for a second has consequences
So at the point when they killed Nessie and knocked you off the res, why wouldn't they send one to board at that point to finish the job if they were stationary with angle?
What I don’t understand is when they had your mast and hella pressure with water filling up quick.. why not board and try to kill you/distract? Even a distraction that a boarder is about to get on the boat would have thrown you off just enough for the water to sink you

Going straight broad to broad as a strategy against bigger boat.. a quick rip around that rock to get them outta position. I know the community hates creative helming over straight pew pew but look at the league battles / arena where helm actually has to maneuver to get a position advantage.

I think the reason for that is most players are not really confident they can beat a ship and crew bigger than theirs most of the time
