Pinky & The Brain cue from Animaniacs, as played by Bryan Pezzone

- This is converted from a Yamaha Disklavier performance of Warner Bros. cartoon music played by Bryan Pezzone. I replaced the Disklavier's analog sustain pedal by hand to the digital (i.e. on/off only) sustain pedal required for this PianoDisc MIDI system. And of course MIDI doesn't have as much note sensitivity as a Disklavier system, so while it certainly would play better on a Disklavier, at least it plays pretty well on any MIDI-equipped piano such as this Mason & Hamlin at Skunk Hollow.
This Pinky & The Brain theme was recorded before their spinoff series had gone into production, so it lacks the bridge that was added to the theme in the spinoff series.
Bryan was the pianist for the Warner Bros. orchestra during the run of Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain.

"Gee Brain! What are we gonna do tonight?"
"The same thing we do every night, Pinky; build a piano that plays itself!"
yes
They're dinky!
They're Pinky and the Brain Brain Brain Brain Brain! (BA BA BA BUM!!)
G,G,G,G,GHOSTS!!!
+Manuel Neto Toast!
It's the ghosts of the scrapped "Coyote vs. A.C.M.E." and the "Marvin the Martian: a Chirstmas Movie".
Always cool to hear variations on it.
@Thalion1138 The bass is pretty simple if you know how "melodic minor" works (lead-in notes are sharpened on the way up). Start in E minor. Bass is E, D, C, B-C#-D#-E, D, C ... Melody B E, D# E, G D#... The next part of the melody is E, E, G A# A#, A# B, A G, F#. On that F# chord changes to A minor. F# in bass, then start the normal bass line starting on A and the melody is the same but now in A. Toward the end bass goes rapidly E-D-C-B B (with "they're dinky") and up B B C# D# E.
I was singing while listening to this
Haha me too
what are we doin tonight? same thing we do every night, try to play the pia-i mean, take over the world
@chrisXDfull - yes, Brain, but where are we gonna find leather pants our size?
thanks so much for sharing this!
@chrisXDfull I think so, Brain, but she would never leave Mickey.
Daaaamn 0_0 that was AWESOME!!
That ending part was not expected, but pretty cool.
@Thalion1138 I wrote out the melody and bass notes by hand waaaaaay back when, but haven't really made a real score of it.
Awesome :D
@JELLJELL1111 The unit and the labor of installing it (this does not include the cost of the piano itself) would be in the $5000 or so range depending on the piano and the installer's labor rate. Wish I had a nice enough piano and the money to have such a system! I've spent all day at Skunk Hollow playing my old MIDI sequences on this one.
Did he make one for Mindy's theme? I'd love to hear that because that theme is so cute.
are you pondering what im pondering?
Brilliant, no other words (or maybe it's because I'm too lazy to, hahaaa)
@Keeper1st Well, you wouldn't happen to be willing to share would you? I suppose if I absolutely had to I could try to listen and write it out myself. But that would take an extremely long amount of time I believe. Even the melody and bass notes are great either way. I'm sure I won't be the only one asking.
This is plain awesome. I'm pondering about the sheet music.. Got any? If not, are you planning on arranging this?
@JELLJELL1111
Yeah.
@F0nkyNinja Oh wow, that's pretty cool. How much does such a piano cost?
Can that thing play any midi?
With piano that is?
You don't have sheet music for this version, do you?
Nothing beyond a basic handwritten theme I made for myself, enough to improvise from.
I think so Brain. I mean if we make a system (called the Xbox One) focus on television instead of games everyone will be happy. I mean who actually buys a game system to play games on. ZORT
Are you a wizard?
I wonder what would happen if that had /watch?v=BW2Czu58UbQ loaded into it.
Alas, no.
you should give this to Tom Brier
NARF!
