Growing up in Florida just north of St. Augustine, I use to love catching black tip sharks right off of the beach. We also use to love filling bottles full of shark teeth. Many to find on those beaches.
Ngl, the ocean is always creepy at night. You never know who you're gonna run into and you never know what you run into is dangerous or not. It just feels like a creepy lucid dream fresh from Ohio or something. But when it comes to nighttime at sea, it usually depends on where the moon is shining and if you have light or not. If you have a lot of light to where the area is almost illuminated, great! But if you're the only light out there, like say for instance, at a cruise ship. You better pray to Neptune that you don't have nightmares about being a Fish engulfed by a Fish-Eating Anemone or getting chased by a nightmare fueled Shark or any other scary sh*t that goes on in the sea.
Yea when me and my family were in florida me and my brother went to look at the shallow area for crabs and my mom was coming to see a big crab we found and this weird lady followed her
Looks like a Manilla File Fish... same colour as the files I have the the FBI, CIA, USSS and... I've said too much...and they'd be fishing for info! I mean, I seriously DO have those files, at least, at one point...likely purged since I'm boring as hell...

That crab you ripped in half was likely in the process of molting. Their movement is almost dormant when they molt, and they get really soft
