    Love the sail switch, where, as your backhand catches the boom on the other side, you hook in, and get the backfoot in the strap. Nice one!

    Sick, especially the laydowns. Such great form and consistency. This makes an excellent lesson video; we can clearly see everything: posture, feet, hands, and eyes. It must be nice to have so much juice for 22 planing jibes in one session.

    That's how it's done. We called it the dunkerbeck gybe back in the days. Still one of the most amazing feelings. Bearing offwind .going lay down with 50 to 60km+ and touching the boom or tip of the mast in the water... one handed they are also amazing and add to the excitement

    Beautiful. Flat water makes it easy huh. Been trying to learn that style n grace in the Gorge. It's so hard.

    Nice jibes! It might be due to the change of camera angle midway through the footage, but #13 and on looked exceptionally solid!

    Bottom turn training on flat water. Very nice spot

    Next session some more creative old school gybes please - wind allowing of course. We all know you can rock the old stuff still. Reverse monkey gybe is always a crowd pleaser.

    Very nice, Ben! You could also comment over it, if you have the energy.
    Good that you included the “crash reel”, not only the highlights 👍💪

    I wonder if this video is as mesmerizing for cats as it is for windsurfers

    Beware #10 situation ⚠️
    I had a head on with a wing in that scenario.

    Plenty of gybe tutorials out there but still missing the one from the master.

      It's worth watching the video in slow motion.

    Nice! Are you as good on the other tack?

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  5 месяцев назад +1

      Well, the other way is my natural way. (I’m regular surfer left foot forward)
      But you have to remember is super flat so much easier

      @@Ben-Proffitt interesting comment. I'm also a regular surfer stance (left forward) but for years of sailing at the same location meant by outside gybes (starboard tack) became strong - as in way stronger. It took years to get my gybes equal and undo the nasty habit I had created for myself. Probably a reminder for folks to now always sail the same location, and if so, be well aware of your habits. I think naturally we tend to work on what we're good at.

    Is there any advantage in the laydown jibe vs normal carve jibe? Or it's just cooler?

    • @WindsurfingTV
      @WindsurfingTV 5 месяцев назад

      Yes, for a 6.0m sail a 70cm wide board is relatively Big. But it felt ok actually!

    I expected to see 23 consecutive lay down jibe tribord ans strarboard ...what a desillusion!!😂😂😂
    Perhaps you attemps 100 jibes to keep the only 23 succes...😅😅

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  5 месяцев назад +2

      Well.. I just took the clips straight off the camera. I was filming to make 'Lay down gybe video' which I will do at some point but thought sometimes people down want the talking and to see them as they happen. The gybes on Port are not useful as they are too far away so we didn't film them. Although I think I prefer port tack to gybe.
