This is definitely a really good song the problem is it's not a Christian song. We have to be very careful to analyze the lyrics because as Christians we interpret this music in our way putting Jesus and God first. People who aren't Christians also interpret this from an earthly perspective which totally changes it's meaning. The praises should be sung to the Lord but some people we don't really believe in God or Jesus can interpret it as being sung to another person which I don't believe it is. As Christians or I should say believers in God and Jesus interpret this song as being about the Lord but a non Christian person could interpret it as singing about his earthly father or a father figure he doesn't really tell us. Considering his other music I have to assume who it is he's referring to but he's not clear when he says things like " like a child in Your arms, I only need to see Your face, , You wipe every tear away " which he never clarifies who You and Your actually is that he's talking about and just making the "Y" capitalized doesn't really do it. When a Christian singer is really a Christian singer they don't worry about offending anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus Christ but when someone intentionally writes a neutral non offensive song like this it's really just because it'll hurt their sales if they put certain words in it. Remember there are other religions which don't believe in Jesus and even some who do believe in Jesus but don't believe he was God In the flesh. The Lord is not a god of confusion or gray areas and he doesn't play with the language he's very clear and concise what he says and He doesn't really like it when people are ashamed of his name. Especially when they're trying to sing His praises for the wrong reasons. I understand the point you're coming from but the way I feel like this song was written is as if the song is to be sang directly to the Lord therefore it doesn't need to explicitly say anything to clarify who the song is to. And as for non-Chistians it really is a way to get them into listening to Christian artists songs and therefore songs that may include mentions of the Lord. And I'd like to make clear I don't know the background of this musician but, sometimes it takes songs like this to appeal to those who may only be able to be brought in though the musical route. And then again some songs are purely written for Christians thought process as they may have been the only audience thought about when the song was written.
