- Hyper Drive is our SNK centric fighting game tournament which took place on Feb 1-2, 2020 at Esports Arena Orange County.
Players enjoyed community nights leading up to Hyper Drive such as Weds Night Fights, Barcode Thursday Night Casuals, Chapter One Pre-party, and much more for a welcoming and fun experience in SoCal.
The King of Fighters XIV & Samurai Shodown are official qualifiers for the SNK World Championship taking place in Japan.

I know snk almost went bankrupt for this game but god I hope the next KOF has sprite animation like this
samurai showdown is good with unreal engine now, i bet they gonna use it for kof 15 too
That's not even a game you are into, it's only something you feel nice looking at. Your main game must be SF or GG or something. Otherwise you wouldnt root for potential financial ruin of the company that makes your main game... Which is really what would happen to a new hq sprite Kof. If Snk is broke again for doing that, it wouldnt mean anything to you. But if something really bad happened and Capcom stopped making SF games (like in the late 90s hiatus), ooh, that would be not so good news...
@@carlosaugusto9821 Agreed...I read that there's no way they're doing sprites again. They know they need to do 3D and work on perfecting that. That being said I do love the art style of 13. I'm hoping they can get back to this style in 3D
I'd prefer if they used 3D models then prerendered to make them _look_ like 2D sprites. It would't look as good as XIII, but nowadays, you can get similar results with nowhere near as much hassle.

What? A KOF XIII tournament where they use characters BESIDES Iori, Kim, Shen, Duo Lon, and Chin? What black magics are these??
I just saw a tier list that said Kim is the best character in the game and I wanna know why is that ?
@@antwuanjones9794 I dunno exactly why but I guess it's because he has really good pokes, pressure, confirms and combo potential.
Replace Duo Lon with mr karate tbh
I just love the animation in this game. I am not sure if it is cell shading or like pixel art on sexy models, but it is so fluid and beautiful to watch. If any of the modern games I love had similar art styles, I would sleep well and never leave my room.

It's pixel art, but how they did it was they used 3D models as a base and went in and made the sprites pixel by pixel over the models
Kinda late to this but I'm so happy this game is still getting some love after all this time. I can only wish it gets the rollback netcode treatment someday so I can get into some online matches.

Only for Xbox / PS consoles, and on the PC there is on Steam, unfortunately the multiplayer is horrible, a bad combination for the best KOF of all time...

I'm torn between kOF 2002UM and KOF 13 as my favorite KOF games but the main reason I would consider 2002UM over 13 is the roster.
