    Thanks for going into details about the exercises. I was given similiar by my physiotherapist but they didn't go into the details and nuisance of keeping your core engaged and not compensating by leaning like you highlighted as important, which made a big difference in engagement of the muscles in my hips.

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare  Месяц назад

      Thanks for sharing this important point @ak2010utube!! I have always shared my feeling that - Exercise is like choreography . . . we need to have precise form and body mechanics, so we can get the most out of it. Almost all patients I've worked with, I tend to correct their form & decrease the weight they are using. Precision & Accuracy are key!! Thanks again

    Appreciate the simplicity! Looking forward to more videos to counter too much sitting for computer work ( now have some hip arthritis) .
    I was also curious if replacing the towel with a stretch band is advisable.

      More to come @janthuslan2616! Make sure to check out my Quad Stretch video (great for countering too much sitting) ruclips.net/video/zlUqTEFRevE/видео.html.
      The stretch band is a step up from isometrics, since it's resistance throughout the motion. It's good to work your way to that, but make sure your medical team approves of this level!. Safety First 👍

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you for your comment @danbutler7708. Since it sounds like an injury occurred ("pulled muscle" = strain), please make sure to get assessed by your Doctor/Physiotherapist - particularly since this was after a surgery.
      And I appreciate your suggestion . . . I am currently working on a calf stretching/strengthening video. Stay tuned!!

      Thank you for the kind words and for tuning into my channel! Many individuals after hip injury (e.g. fracture, sprains, strains, etc.) often heal tight (they lose some motion). Please get an assessment by your Orthopedist/Physiotherapist and see if you have sufficient motion, and if so, do they recommend weight bearing exercises? I am glad you're enjoying the videos & Stay Safe!!

    I'm doing most of these exercises because another video showed some but not all of these exercises. My goal beyond strengthening my hips and legs, is to dismount from my horse. I can swing my right leg over the saddle but not back to dismount. My legs are quite unbalanced and my left leg is noticeably weaker. I can clean up after both horses each day and do all other chores but his inability to dismount worries me so much I don't want to ride. Will continued work using these exercises help with my dismount problem? Thank you for your videos.

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare  26 дней назад

      Dismounting your horse is such a specific function which could be challenging because of a strength issue, or it could be a mobility issue (e.g. tight hip)? I would consult a PT to find the specific cause of your difficulty with this task. Keep working hard . . . you got this!! 👍

    I have arthritis in my hip with bone spurs two of them. Are these exercises good for that?

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare  23 дня назад

      Gentle exercise is helpful for arthritic hips, of which most have some level of bone spurring. Exercise should never cause pain or worsen symptoms. If these are uncomfortable, check with your Orthopedic doctor or Physio for very specific alternatives. I also have a non-weight bearing (sitting) cardio workout you could try:

      It is very important to know the origin of Sciatica, since it can come from several regions of the body. Please make sure you get an assessment by your Doctor/Physiotherapist. These exercises are gentle and should not cause pain, so they can be helpful! Thank you for your comment!
