This was phenomenal. People talking about her vocals and all but her voice is good enough she's singing her original phrasing of the lyrics. YES she's singing HER iconic song, arguably the most famous song in the world Live the way she sing it back in her day, how is this embarassing ?? Seriously....
i dont care wt people say. this is one of her best performances. her false setto is with her. she sings i wish you joy.... with croaking and lets be honest we wernt expecting a mirricle to happen just for the one performance but hey I think it did and thats just my opinion!!! the and IIIIIIIIII was the best she's done in years!!!!! the only problem was the rasp for approximately 5 seconds!!!! tiss alll lol and im so glad everyone who was there enjoyed it!!!
Look at her hands at the beginning of the song ("And I...")... ...I think there are two reasons for holding them so: on the one side, she is praying to be able to perform her signature song as she wants. On the other side, she is pushing her stomach and her diaphragma so that she can sing in falsetto. It made me cry thinking of how effortless her voice once functioned... ...still the best singer of all times and, even at her worst, she never resorted to lip-synching. Because she is a true singer, The Voice.
And true she was hurt but she was never afraid to go on stage and sing Live because love was so much stronger, she fought to the end and won. Forever in our hearts Ms Whitney H.
Her voice was strong in the first half but because she was still recovering from illness, it gave out at the end (and this is the final song apart from the encore). Look at the version from Nottingham the next night, much better! :D She sang it amazingly when I went at Glasgow! :D
OMG!!! This is not the Whitney Houston I remember!!! My heart goes out to this beautiful woman who let such negative influences take away one of music's greatest voices of all time! Whitney, if you read this, you can overcome any adversity. Your true fans will always love you! Please get better soon!
I think she did very good job with this performance. She sounds very beautiful from 1.25 to 1.50. Only bad part was after the big note. What was the audience expecting?
i love my Whitney, she will always be my favorite singer/performer! i do believe that if she stops smoking, she will sing with much more clarity. You can hear the improvement in her voice, compared to when she just came back out. If she quits the smoking she would have a clear chest voice. Her brother Gary did a great job hitting the high note yous. Check him out with his back turned to the audience when he does it...love you Whit.
@RadioTodd She got much better at the end of the tour. Check out the video "I Will Always Love You Manchester 17th" on "Murrayg2"'s channel! :) And that's with probably loads of tiredness because it was the last date of the tour which is usually hoarse for any performer! :D I also saw her and she did it great when I saw her! :)
I never watch this clip because of all the bad I read about it tell now but she was amazing here. If it were not for that one bad note this would have been perfect the power and head note were all there.... I love it....
@RadioTodd Ah great! :) I mean if you look at where she was in Korea with this song, and where she is now with Manchester and the last few dates it's just remarkable :) it was only really this song that her voice would get bad on in this tour. Hopefully she will even get better! All the best! :)
@cantbelieveitsnotemo I wouldn't say it was her best performance because of a few moments where she chokes, but for falsetto it's a dream! :) I saw her on the tour (the date after the bad London dates) and she was brilliant! :) Her voice just can't handle the stress of travelling to tour :)
the "And IIIII" was pretty good. Of course not like it was before, but good. Also, and I wish you "JOY"(2:20). That Joy was clear too. The ending here (6:17-6:42) was the best of the tour for sure. She did try..
it's very sad to hear her sing like this, I hope it is that she was just sick and this hasn't been caused from her drug addiction, still even if her voice has gone no one can take away the fact that she was an incredible singer and no one could replace her xxxx
She actually was sick. She had an upper respiratory infection that was caused by the Volcanic ash cloud in Iceland. It spread all over continental Europe and is the reason Whitney had extra problems w/her voice after she had just fixed most of her vocal issues prior to this concert. 1 thing I do know is that her head voice was excellent the whole concert. Her belts were just raspy on her certain songs.
@rossgardiner Hi! OH...don't get me wrong! Love Whitney! Such a great voice and soo many great songs over the last 25 plus years! Some of her songs bring back great memories for me and ex-girlfriends at the time and...well you get the idea! LOL! I was so bummed to see this clip! I will check out the others you mentioned! I know she still has the pipes! Thanks!!! Todd
@Dchiet75 This is very sad to see, stopping smoking won't put her voice right, it's years and years of class A drug abuse as done permanent damage to her mental state and her voice is now much lower and very husky and throathy, personally i think shes finished but i hope i'm proven wrong, she was one of the best females in the world, not any more at a mere...46 very sad .
What kind of performer takes almost a huge break in the middle of the her BIGGEST SONG to catch her breath?? Whitney stopped singing at 2:36 and didn't resume until 3:29...Who does that?! And then when she finally did resume singing it was fairly off key. Ouch. Having been a big fan for many years, I hope she's able to get her voice back. Stay off the drugs, get a good workout regime going and take care of yourself. The world misses you.
Okay say what you want about the vocals but she didn't just take a break to catch her breath, she had been pausing before the big climax of this song for MANY years, because it builds suspense and everyone gets excited and anticipates the big moment when that boom comes and she sings the finale. Is it really that hard to comprehend?
what cruelty to include this in the set list. hard to believe that whitney wanted to sing this in that state of voice and health. but the need to exploit her was ever present. the expectations placed on her were enormous. she should have been entitled to say: it is too hard, i am not doing this.
She should have had the sense to not even try. This was an abysmal performance (and the recording was bad too, but the recording wouldn't have made a difference.
SHE WAS SICK ATLEAST SHE DIDNT LIP SYNC AND AT LEAST TRIED HER BEST SHES BEEN TRYING OF COUSE 2009 2010 2011 2012 HER VOICE WAS BAD YOU NEVER UNDERSTAND ABOUT WHITNEY HOUSTON SO STOP SAYING THAT JEZZ🙄
Shut up Vincent Liebart She didn’t mean any of the bad voice it was that she was on drugs and because before she died so that’s why her voice was bad what’s your problem with her if you don’t like it why did you select the video then huh?
I love how her background singers always cheer for her.
And the big note on this performance really impressed me.
The world was not kind enough to Whitney. There will never be another ‘VOICE’
I'm not sure how this is embarrassing. This is actually very good. She tried to sing like her 1994 self.
This was phenomenal. People talking about her vocals and all but her voice is good enough she's singing her original phrasing of the lyrics. YES she's singing HER iconic song, arguably the most famous song in the world Live the way she sing it back in her day, how is this embarassing ?? Seriously....
Yasssssss! my favs from this era is this, berlin 2010, and seoul 2010
I think she's trying to sing like she did on the bodyguard world tour 93/94
Yeah she was
yes and she did
Her Chest voice is gone but her headvoice still amazing
Fell down on nine but stood back up on the count of 10 , that's our girl ❤
She sounds great, by far the best performance of this song on this tour!
This was not bad at all. Only part that was kind of off was after she did the big note but bounced back at the end. Very good!
She looked stunning and sounded stunning! Love that head voice!
3:31 to 3:36 she nailed it & after that it nailed her. :-(
May she rest in peace though. xo
I felt that
whitney your always great, wherever you are,you try your all best, its ok,i love you,always....
The first half was awesome and most of the second half was good... Overall I loved it:)
i dont care wt people say. this is one of her best performances. her false setto is with her. she sings i wish you joy.... with croaking and lets be honest we wernt expecting a mirricle to happen just for the one performance but hey I think it did and thats just my opinion!!! the and IIIIIIIIII was the best she's done in years!!!!! the only problem was the rasp for approximately 5 seconds!!!! tiss alll lol and im so glad everyone who was there enjoyed it!!!
This was actuall good
I love this performance x
Proof that she was getting better by this point....she actually sang the "you". At the start of her tour she wasn't singing those.
Look at her hands at the beginning of the song ("And I...")... ...I think there are two reasons for holding them so: on the one side, she is praying to be able to perform her signature song as she wants. On the other side, she is pushing her stomach and her diaphragma so that she can sing in falsetto. Not falsetto, its head voice
She hit the note
You guys are all crazy she was amazing except that one bad note. Her power and head voice were all there.
It's much better than the version from London, right? Go Whitney! I love YOU!
Her voice was strong in the first half but because she was still recovering from illness, it gave out at the end (and this is the final song apart from the encore).
Look at the version from Nottingham the next night, much better! :D She sang it amazingly when I went at Glasgow! :D
Those people really loved her.

I think she did very good job with this performance. She sounds very beautiful from 1.25 to 1.50. Only bad part was after the big note. What was the audience expecting?
5:23 - 5:38 on one breath, impressive!
4th lungg
@jemuelbryan Well it's not her song. She covered it..but it's Dolly Parton's song
i love my Whitney, she will always be my favorite singer/performer! i do believe that if she stops smoking, she will sing with much more clarity. she is just sick she can still blow
@cantbelieveitsnotemo she is the best seen her at the o2 in london, amazing!!!!!!xx
oh my sadness... she could always sing in the simplest way she could...
She can still do the hardest rift, the one in the begining.
@jamie207 actually it's dolly partons song and when I saw her she did it great! She was recovering from illness here ;)
@RadioTodd She got much better at the end of the tour. her voice's is really better than in Seul, it's a good sign ;) God bless you, Whitney ;)
i loooove whitney : ) xx

@forevertony2006 a 70 year old man who has not been constantly singing for 30 years.
At least didn't lip sync so stop complaining

Why did she sing if she was sick? She should have waited.
sounded good too me

The first verses are fine its the big end verse she really struggles with the rest is fine.
oh my sadness... she could always sing in the simplest way she could... she does not have to do that belt...

She's lost it!! Mix with the wrong crowd & take drugs.....it's her own fault!
