- I got a LOT of request to remake my Uncharted movies in HD. I finally got an HD capture device a couple months ago, so I decided it was a good time to remake my Uncharted movies in HD. I feel like I did a better editing job this time as well, so it's not just better in image quality, but better in content as well.
For those of you wondering, YES, I am making a Last of Us movie. Please be patient. I'm going to finish my Uncharted HD Remakes first, and then decide what to do next. I want to make sure the game has plenty opportunity to sell as many copies as possible, so I'm going to wait for the sales to slow down somewhat before making my movie. I just wanted to make sure I explained that, as I get multiple requests every single day.
I have always considered the Uncharted series my favorite game series of all time. I haven't played everything, of course, but of what I played, the Uncharted games are easily my favorite, with Uncharted 2 taking the top spot as my favorite game of all time. They were the reason I got into this game movie thing in the first place. I thought they had amazing stories which could be enjoyed by everyone, whether they played games or not. So I made these movies so that the people who don't play games can still enjoy their stories. Also, even if you do play the games, these movies offer a nice way to sit back and watch the entire story in one sitting. I often find them a good way to see the entire story in context, as a lot of the time you end up breaking a game's story into multiple gaming sessions, and part of that story context can get lost.
I had certain rules for making these:
I decided that I would include every cinematic, and link them by the minimum gameplay needed to connect the cinematics without creating any plot holes. Obviously to do this I had to take out certain sections of gameplay, but doing so does not have any effect on story. As I was trying to make these as close to a real movie experience as I could, there were a few guidelines I decided to follow:
1. I would try to remove as many on screen references to this being a game as possible, such as chapter titles and button or new ammo prompts. Some of these would either be impossible or would too much negatively impact the quality of the film, such as the near constant ammo OSD, or the occasional "select" prompt for drake's journal during puzzles.
2. I would try to include as much of the puzzles, in game cinematics and cinematic gameplay elements as I could. Some areas still needed to be cut to keep the movie flowing properly or, in the case of Uncharted 2 and 3, to keep the run length shorter than it would have been otherwise.
3. I tried to keep as much in game dialogue as I could, as I believe those really help develop the characters. However, as I said, I also had to keep an eye on how much gameplay I was using to make sure it didn't make things too boring or make the movie too long.

what amazes me about this series beyond its technical achievements is that they actually were able to portray real onscreen chemistry. I've played a lot of games and I haven't seen anything quite like Elena/Drake. I'm sure all the mocap work helped make that possible. Thanks for the upload!
I really hope they're both back for Uncharted 4, and I hope we get more Elena this time. Seems like she's been used less each game and that's disappointing to me. Although, her show Haven just got picked up for a double length season, so idk if she's going to be free enough to film Uncharted 4. I hope so.
dang I didn't realize that. Yes, it would be a real shame if she can't be in #4 very much. The one beauty of VA in general and even mo cap I guess is that the hours are much more flexible than series television or film. Let's hope they can work it out

This is an “older” game now. And I am stunned at the cinematic seemlesness in this movie. WOW!!! Awesome work. The game looks like fun and the story line they did was excellent, but this guy who played and spliced it all together, plus the music...I am really impressed. Thank you for such excellent work. I was introduced to your work by watching Horizon...after that I was hooked on your work. It’s excellent. Keep it coming!!!

When you want the viewer to feel like they aren't missing anything, then it is definitely very important.
I think you should've saved the train scene for just after he blows up the propane tanks. And started the movie with just him at the bar! Would've been more epic!
The puzzles are VITAL to the story. It's how Nate learns what to do next. Without seeing them, Nate appears to have supernatural knowledge about where to go next. We need to see how he got that information.

Well minimum gameplay is the goal, but story consistency, as well as pacing is also very important to me.
Amazing characters and character development, beautiful and stunning scenery and locations, an awesome plot (that I feel gets just a biiiiiit dodgy near the end-with all the mystical blue resin that (spoiler) grants regenerative properties)--the Uncharted games would have made an amazing movie series. It must have been incredibly tedious and difficult to produce this, so thanks so very much for taking the time to turn this astounding game into a 3-hour piece of awesomeness. :3

I played all the Uncharted games and I just love all the main characters!! The endings always make me feel complete and Naughty Dog definitely knows how to end their games. Uncharted is definitely number 1 on my favorite adventure games list.
My main issue is presenting the story properly, and doing so by including the minimum gameplay necessary to do so. It's not optimal to go over 3 hours, but story consistency is more important than runlength to me.

I make the point of not cutting any cutscenes out. The cutscene before that gameplay shows that they had to take the guards out and then reach the roof, so I had to show how they got there. Skipping from taking the guards out straight to the roof would leave a plot hole.
I remember watching my brothers rage at this game.... Ah memories.

Yes there are. As I said, Nate and Flynn needed to get to the roof to find their way to the tower. It would make absolutely no sense to cut straight from taking out the guards to being on the roof. There would clearly be something missing there. The viewer would feel like they're missing something, leading to confusion on the viewer's part. The reason I edit the way I do is to avoid such confusion.
Brilliantly done! I would love to see how these games are made, the graphics and the scenery are just stunning. The artists and animators are the real people who deserve the Oscars. Thank you for taking the time to do this, I had no idea what video games looked like before watching your films, I can see why people love them. Well worth the time watching this.

You are a hero mate, loved this so much, saw part 1 and 2 now, since I was never able to get the game myself (no console), but I always wanted to play or at least know this story, this is the best game series ever allthough I never played it, pretty weird hmn, but nevermind that, thanks for uploading them so much. Btw I love the format, you did a great job, not just uploading but it was fun to watch all the way through.
You really should play it any chance you get. Maybe at a friends house or something.
because it's not a speed run. I cut out lot of the game. I include gameplay, but only enough to understand the story, avoid plot holes, and keep a good pacing.
Amazing, outstanding, excellent work! I didn't know some voice actors from Dragon Age were also in this before I started watching, so my brain was definitely confused at first to hear Morrigan and Alistair's voices coming from different characters. Time for Uncharted 3!

i have never played this game but based on its story, characters and gameplay looks one of the best games i've ever seen. its so cinematic and it appears more like a movie than a game. i really love nate drake's personality by being likeable jerk, snarky, sarcastic, intelligent and adroit in hostile environment just as well when is neck deep in some troubling situations.
i love his relationship with elena who is also very strong, sexy and independent female character who can take care of herself. i like the fact they were married but i dislike that they cant stay together 4ever but always be apart, what pisses me even more that she always shows up in the middle of the game not at he beginning.
chloe is very seductive, aggressive and very hot contrast to elena. at the beginning of uncharted 2 i didnt know what to make of her because she was on that thin line between good and bad, but she turned out ok. i prefer elena over her but she brings some interesting dynamic in all of this and its nice to see her having nate's back. sully is very hilarious and awesome, drake's father figure and without him nate wouldnt be what he is today.

I especially loved these dialogue lines. Chloe: "You dance with the one, that brought you here." She's kind of hurt that Nathan's ditching her for Elena, but she is also referring that Chloe herself is dancing with 2 partners at the same time...
And from Nathan: "I'm never crossing another bridge with you again." He is referring to a collapsing bridge in Uncharted 1, but also foreshadowing a wedding :D

It would take me a long time to type of the subtitles for optional CC, even longer probably to recreate the entire movie with subtitles enabled in game.
This game is amazing.it is a massive improvement from the first and the storyline is incredible. There are so many different parts of the game and they are all so good. There is nothing about this game that I didn't like.I recommend this game .10/10 for sure

they'll definitely go all out to bring an end to the series that truly made them popular jak series was good its just this appeals to a wider audience it will be interesting to see what delivers more between tomb raider and uncharted when it comes to story, graphics and gameplay.

Wow. I just found these and watched all 3 recently. Great editing Andy, well done, they were fantastic to watch. I'm really not a fan of shooters and I couldn't get past the gameplay to actually play through the Uncharted games, but they made excellent adventure movies. So glad I found these. Great job! Shaantanu Jadhav I was finally able to get Arkham Knight running at a near solid 30fps, so I've begun work on it already, and due to the ToggleHUD mod, it shouldn't take as long as some of my other movies.

The older version was a few minutes shorter. Since this was a different playthrough, I did some things differently, so it's not possible to keep the runtime the same.

Uncharted 2 was previously my highest rated game ever, but Last of Us beat it. Not only that, but Last of Us achieved the ONLY perfect score I've ever given to a video game.

It's a tossup between this or the last of us as not only being naughty dogs finest hour but as the greatest game of all time. Games like cod and assassins creed should pay attention because THIS is how you do a sequel, keep everything that made the original great and outdo it on every single level.

shurtugal1 I agree, at least with the original trilogy you were kind of working towards a goal. When they killed Desmond off in 3 I thought what the fuck is the point in continuing? The ones after have their moments but like I said I just don't see the point anymore. That being said, the new one isn't so bad from what I've played so far.

You should keep doing these you'll get lots of views for one thing and these are very enjoyable and easily the best "random video game: the movie" videos I've ever seen. You use gameplay to tie in the story without plot holes and minimize the use of icons. It's really great. Looking forward to finishing this series and then watching the last of us! Keep it up

Uncharted 4 will be so nice to see and if you do it fast enough your channel should get bigger your content is really really nice you need way more subs than 98k at least 500k but keep it up man you will get there
I'm going to start working on it as soon as I beat the game on all difficulties and get all the treasures. I will be streaming my crushing mode playthrough though, so keep an eye out for that.

I love this game, but I still don't get how between 1:25:00 and 1:26:00, Nate & Elena didn't die. Those bad guys are worse at shooting than stormtroopers.
