I love Martinez not because his character or his gestures, but he fulfilled the dream of millions & millions of people on this planet when he saved Argentina at the last minute from absolute death by France. And the most importantly, he fulfilled the dream of the GOAT Messi for completing his football ❤.

The points he's saved for Villa this season because he's a great shot stopper, immense in 1 on 1's, plays the sweeper keeper perfectly and is absolutely brilliant with his feet.
But this guy is on a whole different level to any other GK in the world in a penalty shootout. The worlds #1 and it's hard to argue against it.

Love him or hate him, there is no other goalie I'd want in a shootout for my team. He's confident, thrives under pressure, plays mental games with opponents, and gets down to the corners quick with good anticipation.

Europa Conference League
Yeah, I didn't know either.
There are three tiers of European football competition sanctioned by UEFA: The Champions League, the Europa League, and the Europa Conference League (in order of prestige). Team qualification is determined by finishing place in domestic league, winning one of these competitions, and play-offs in the previous year. As well as finishing third place in the group stage in a higher competition and dropping down into a lower one. Top teams from their domestic league always participate in such competitions. Starting next year the format will be different and will not include a group stage but everything else will apply. 👍

FIFA is going to crack down on his antics. Other keepers will start copying him if they don’t and they know it. That is the same thing that happened in the late 80s early 90s with keepers getting off the line and jumping on the ball. That is the reason why now they have to stay on the line.

Probably yes, but that actually makes sense. You already mark down the game as win/draw/loss based on the 120 minute result regardless of what happens in the shootout, and any goals people score in a shootout do not count towards their statistical goal tally. So we're already considering shootouts as a separate entity from the regular match, so separating cards from it would be in line with that as well.
