It’s so disgusting that so many people shamed her that day. Sometimes athletes have the worst moments and that’s unfortunate that it happened at the Olympics. But she is an amazing athlete and was such an incredible asset to the team. Nobody will ever understand that who shames her or any other successful person. Simone biles for example is probably one of the best gymnasts in the world today & she could really screw up at the Olympics you never know what can happen on the biggest pressure moment on stage ever.

China was battling to win their 1st Olympic team title, at their home Olympics. What would you expect ? Of course they were excited. ( let's not forget the Glasgow crowd was cheering for the Japanese men's team to miss at 2015 Worlds, so GB could win...)

@@sarahellison7995 they're not cheering an injured gymnast, she just fell. People cheers for their team in every sport ( basket, football, swimming, tennis, NCAA gymnastics...). As long as they're not trying to distract the gymnast in order for her to make a mistake, then I'm fine with it. Booing, distracting noise on purpose, bad sportsmanship in general, are all big NO for me.
There were plenty of cheers when she stuck landings here too so I think you're just making something out of nothing. Maybe they're just excited. Plenty of times the crowd will cheer even when a gymnast falls, maybe they are just trying to encourage them to keep going.
China would have won even without the 2 falls from Alicia. This Beijing team was one of the best wag team in history, and USA had 2 major competitors injured ( Peszek and Memmel).

@@pat1809 she was deducted more than 2 points with those mistakes. There were additional deductions because she missed connections.
Actually falls were only worth a 0.8 deduction in 2008 not a full point so I don't think she did lose more than 2 points in total
