The more I learn about Polka, the more interesting and admirable of a person she becomes. Learning her flaws humanizes her in a positive way. That's my oshi.

Popping out Polka clips like it's nothing, again thank you 🙏
Comparison can serve as an excellent fuel for ambition. Too much of it can destroy you, but the fact that Polka is aware of this and is openly talking about it shows that she can control herself.
    Ganbare Polka!
(PS I am not a licensed psychologist, I pulled this outta my ass 👍)

Okayu describing it as an 'honest jealousy' perfectly describes Polka's feeling. It's the kind of innocent jealousy that doesn't eat you inside out, but pushes you to be better.

I really enjoy Dan Olson's take on this topic. Jealousy for him, much like Polka, isn't malicious. It's self degrading. For him, he sees something that he could have feasible done, like camera techniques, and it eats away at him as he mulls over his own work and meticulously breaks down his own inadequacies. It's a tool of self reflection.
Okayu is right to admire Polka's control over her emotions like this.

6:20 Subaru taking strays yet again
I didn't take Polka as much of the jealous type, but it makes sense after hearing her explain it more. Jealousy just happens, especially in this kind of field, and there's nothing wrong with experiencing it, but Polka takes care to not let it impact others in any way. I just hope that doesn't destroy herself in anyway, but the fact that she's openly sincere about it must help alleviate that. I always enjoy when Holomems have conversations like this. Stuff like this isn't clipped too much, so it's really appreciated!

Once again, thanks for clipping the interviews!
As long as you don't drag other people down with your jealousy, there's really nothing wrong with it. More "competitiveness", less "jealousy".

just like other cardinal "sins", balance is important. we aren't saints and trying to rid ourselves of them entirely is likely going to be more detrimental than not
without sloth, there is no time to rest and no time for self reflection
with too much sloth, there is no time to improve
without envy, there is no baseline to compare yourself with
with too much envy, you drown in your comparisons
without lust NO BABBIES ARE POPPED OUT

I think Calli has been talking about this, Idk, about how the company is really good at spotting talents in recruitment process. They're looking for not just the skill potential what and what not, but also this "jealousy" thing. There will be no room for people who has this tendency to join.
I guess that makes sense because in the industry that is built upon competition and fame, jealousy is always be there. And ones must know how to deal with it.

Yeah, feeling jealous of another's achievements is natural if you're in the same field the important thing is using those feelings to motivate yourself to do better, not drag the other person down. Polka can feel jealous of Okayu's success but she fully acknowledges that Okayu's success was well-earned. Hololive has an environment that encourages healthy competition from the members.
