- Join us as we visit The Newcastle Hoppings Fair for the first ever time in our action packed vlog full of on ride POV's and plenty of laughs as we have fun at the fair. We're also joined by special guest Disney Mark as we spend a wonderful evening experiencing a wide variety of the rides and attractions.
The Hoppings is one of the largest travelling fairs in Europe that sees many different showman bring various rides from all across the UK to Newcastle Upon Tyne. We had a fantastic time at this event and we look forward to visiting again next year!

The hoppings at the time of upload has sadly moved on. I was hoping to go again for my second time ever to the hoppings, but I've ended up working just up the road at a theatre in Gosforth. I had to pass it ever day to and from work. Twas tough!

Hahahahahah that fun house put me in Hospital when I was a kid. I hit my hip coming down the slide and it swelled pretty bad.
This was well before health and safety was a thing, it looks like they have taken the bit out that I hit my hip on :)
I can.t wait for the Fairs in Belgium,Germany,Netherlands in the future .If u visit a big fair in Belgium u should go on Deca Dance ( Verwijk/ Bufkens) they sometimes have Djs playing their sets in sync with the breaker complete with strobo,smoke effects,its truely like a disco.

I love flat rides I'm from Scotland. Been disappointed the Kirkcaldy Links Market list year *which normally includes atmosfear, rockrage , air But none of them are attending this year! So looking to come here in June!

Great to hear your opinions on the local hoppings, live close by and often don't appreciate how lucky we are to have this up in Newcastle. Also, don't count on the weather being the same next year, it's not always this nice :)

If you ever find yourself in Georgia during the first week or two in October, you can't miss the Georgia National Fair in Perry. Its one of the biggest fairs in the country. A full 2 rows of rides from one end of the fairgrounds all the way to the opposite end beside a lake with paddleboats and a huge water fountain display. They even have a chairlift there. There are 4 big show buildings, street performers, lots of shows, a nightly fireworks show, 7-8 animal arenas and barns, a 10,000 seat concert arena where bands from all over the world perform, and hundreds of vendors there too. We have 550.000 people every year come. You could actually fit the entire Disney World Resort into the fairgrounds with room to spare.

My little boy on his 4th birthday went on the wallcer for the time he loved it and stayed on for 2 goes x and they where proper fast spinning them around x

That Mondial top scan at 38:06 looks like it might be whirlwind that used to be at Lightwater Valley. They got rid of it because it’s actually a prototype and every time they needed a new part for it the part had to get custom made. So it was quite an expensive ride to run.

The first bomber you went on he was a tight wad because normally they send it backwards as well you should of gone on the one called vertigo.
The cyber show with the glasses belongs to a friend of mine. It was the very first traveling cyber show in Europe.
The first tagada you went on belongs to Stewart Robinson. A typical Yorkshire man lol.
The second ghost train also belongs to gilbert Chadwick.
If you get the chance go to hull fair in October that's a big fair.

Love the vlog! But a big fair is not necessarily a good fair. Here in The Netherlands we have Tilburg, which has the biggest fair of the Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg) and that fair is often criticised for having double rides, meaning the same rides are standing there twice. The Hoppings have this problem, but even worse, looking at the vlogs I saw. 2 Tagada's, multiple boosters, multiple Waltzers and more. Too many double rides..... Some nice special rides though! Love Danter's Air and I am really looking forward to see this ride back in The Netherlands again next month!

What do you use to film this ? Not the camera , but the thing that attaches to it . You obviously can't hold it when you're on the bigger rides so what do you use to keep it attached to the bar ?
Missed going last year. I’m from Newcastle and it’s an annual tradition to go and with covid cancelling it, I was disappointed, hoping it’s back this year

I am watching it coz I can’t wait for the hoppings to come on the 17th June but I never get why other fairs are so expensive like I watched one of your other videos and the prices where so high I was like wow and also you can get tickets for 50p off in the newspaper (don’t know if they will be doing it this time and prices might go up) but yea the prices are always really low and opening night it the cheapest

i really dont get how you can cope with roller coasters i went on the walsers yesterday and jumped off i was that scared!
What we called 'Skids' was one of the first rides I ever went on. Maybe second. I told my sister it wasn't very exciting. She told me she was holding the brake on so she took it off. I spent the rest of the ride pretending I was fine while feeling like my brain was coming out of the back of my skull.
The skid was so much fun, we loved it

I'm coming from Scotland to go for my first time
As a Dutch person myself i gotta say that the Geordie accent didn't bother me one bit and I completely understood what Mark was saying.
But what freaking fun you guys have going to a fair or a theme park....You can literally see you guys are there to breathe in the atmosphere, make up quirky jokes and just enjoy every minute of it all.
Any chance of you guys hitting the fair in Tilburg, The Nettherlands this year?? Or the one in Hoorn, The Netherlands?
The first one is deemed to be the largest one in Europe and the second one is the the second largest, but the most impressive because the lay out is all through the old centre of Hoorn.
Anyway: thank you so much for this very entertaining video!! Gave me a bit of a feeling I was there myself!

Hi, I'm really confused about the wild mouse rollercoaster! I live in Newcastle and go every year (apart from this year 😩) and I didn't know that the wild mouse was the one from winter wonderland. Do they convert the ride or did you mean something else? Sorry this a comment on an old video, I'm just trying to catch up with where you have been. Love the content by the way!
