    The last scene show how tired he was of trying to have a dad, he just gave up (probably once he knew the truth)

    I read the last scene as the kid repeating the cycle of being an absent father because he just stopped trying.

    I always thought that the first 2 duos were twin sisters and the other big and lil bro, and the kid just saw that you can be happy even without parents as long as you have a close one in your life. The other 2 duos were parent and child which looked more interesting to the kid. And in the end he just envisioned his dad to be alive and well when actually it still wasn’t the case. I till now don’t know if I’m at least somewhat close to the actual meaning, but that just shows it can be interpreted in more ways than just one. Love this song and the vid tbh.
