I sometimes wonder if Ms. Lara Parker ever truly realized just how enamored hundreds of thousands of young boys were over her. I sometimes get the feeling her incredible beauty often overshadowed her talent as an actress, and this may be the source of some degree of frustration for her. Lara, if by some chance of random luck, you happen to come across this post, know your talent, grace, and mesmerizing beauty are all equal, and that is because they are all literally off the charts.
Started the series last year and after 365 eps I took a break and now I returned. I can safely say the moment Angelique enters the arc the 1st thing I though was "damn she seems like a great actress and character" and I was right. I loved every scene she was in and get character. Lara parker just made it even better because of her incredible performance and those eyes really help to give her an otherworldly feeling that fits perfectly for a witch.
I had the honor of meeting Lara Parker at a Dark Shadows convention in NYC about 15 years ago. So very gracious and kind...which kinda surprised me, after growing up with the memories of Angelique, the witch. But I have to confess, my hero of all heroes has always been Dr. Julia Hoffman; loyal, brave, eternally suffering unrequited love for Barnabas. My idea of heaven would be to awaken in the world of Dark Shadows and live out my life in the Old House, with Julia and Barnabas. Thank you, Robert Cobert, for your enchanting melodies that to this day, bring joy to my life.
One of my children has a friend named Angelique. When we were introduced I asked if she had ever heard of Dark Shadows. She rolled her eyes and said Yes. Her mother loved the show and so named her only daughter after Lara Parker 's character.
oh my god she was so beautiful. and now i look at my hands that type the words I love as old an crusty , when they where cool and soft, she is beautiful
I was the 667th thumbs up. I was so envious of the person who got to give the 666th thumbs up LMAO. This melody is forever etched in the minds and hearts of Dark Shadows Fans. Thanks for making my day!
I'm a big Dark Shadows fan and of all the music on the show I love this best. I have often wished I could play the piano, I'd get the sheet music for this.
Roulette Records released many great records, most 70's disco/soul gems. Where did this Dark Shadows song come from? It is great! Where can it be found?
I think my favorite period for Angelique was the 1897 storyline. She'd spent 100 years in HELL when she was (unintentionally) summoned back to Earth. When she arrived, she seemed more confident, but less devious-- more honest. Eventually, she agreed to HELP Barnabas take down the real baddies threatening the family. I've mostly seen her as not really bad, just very misguided.
LARA PARKER AND HER CHARACTER ' ANGELIQUE ' WERE , SUPER DUPER ' O.T.W. ' (OUT OF THIS WORLD) ! AS A CHILD I ADMIRED HER SO MUCH AND LOVED THE CHARACTER SHE PORTRAYED , JUST AS I DID ' DIANNA RIGG ' WHO PLAYED THE CHARACTER OF ' MRS. EMMA PEEL ' ON THE THE BRITISH TV SERIES ' THE AVENGERS ' THAT LED ME TO STUDY ' THE MARTIAL ARTS ' FROM PRE-TEEN TO ADULT ! ' THE EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN ' THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT ; NOT ' THE HOKEY POKEY ' !
"Robert Cobert's theme for Angelique, played on DARK SHADOWS by Lara Parker." Perhaps re-phrase? I know for a fact Lara Parker never played this music on Dark Shadows. :)
In the Parallel Time episodes, this musical composition was written for Angelique by a lover (I think) for her. He played it on the piano. It is properly phrased. Lara Parker never played a musical instrument on the show or otherwise, and this piece was only used in the Parallel Time segments. I love it. So haunting.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, dear Lara, forever in our hearts...
Lara's fans will miss her very much. Wonderful performances.
Angelique was the most beautifull of all cast but the most terrifying.
Beautiful theme for
the most beautiful
witch of "Dark Shadows". R.I.P.
Lara Parker ... you
are forever missed !
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was just a kid but I had such a crush on Angelique and Lara Parker. The music always fit the characters.

Those eyes...she was made for the role of Angelique.
@doubleheadergr I loved Angelique for her power and was bored by Josette for her frailty. They're like Scarlett Ohara Melanie Hamilton.
I for one she was truly beautiful woman and very sexy

I was one fifteen year old who longed to be ravaged by Angelique and become her slave.
Robert Cobert...Genious of a composer...Love ALL his DS recordings

Preston Alexander I’ve often thought how wonderful it would be to live in Collinwood or the old house with all of the characters I love.

In her defense Angelique is a beautiful name

I named my daughter Loretta Lynn.

Beautiful. I had this on a 45rpm.
With Robert Colbert's passing, I remember my favorite Ode to Angelique recording.
RIP Lara Parker, 1938-2023.

Beautiful Lara Parker rest in peace.
She was so beautifully evil!! RIP LARA PARKER
No other actress will ever be her
Wow .. I found it! This tune NEVER left my memory as a little kid watching these shows and the Angelique music would sometimes play.
I love this as an all time Dark Shadows fan. The paralell time portion still gives me the creeps and I wonder how they made that background sound.
I love this tune by Robert Cobert from my favorite show, Dark Shadows!
This is really pretty!!!! I love Angelique and this music is perfect for her!
Beautiful piece of music

MASTERPIECE!
I had always thot the music underlining Angelique's spells was so much more aligned with her vicious villainy in the series!
Love Laura parker

Master Piece 🎼🎼💯
No one else then, and no one know scares me as much as Angelique...

This is nice music. Only played in the 1970 PT episodes...
I named my daughter Cassandra after a character played by Ms Parker in Dark Shadows. I wanted to name her Angelique but my exwife wouldn't allow me.
My lovebirds scream "Angelique, seize them!" at the other species in the aviary and make us all laugh...

Alexis played it (Angelique's twin sister also played by Lara Parker) and the spirit of Angelique played it as well.
