How the Interplay of Sunlight, Temperature and Precipitation Shape Biomes - ESS topic 2.4

In this video for IB Environmental systems and societies (IB ESS) topic 2.4 Biomes, zonation and succession, we focus on the world's major aquatic and terrestrial biomes. First, we look at the major factors that determine the way biomes are distributed around the globe: incoming sunlight or insolation, average temperature, and precipitation patterns. We examine how the tricellular model of Earth's atmosphere influences those precipitation patterns, and we also compare the productivity and biodiversity of several major biome types.
Key ESS terminology to take away from this video include:
