I lived in Seattle when grunge took over, and absolutely loved Kurt Cobain. It feels like several lifetimes ago, yet these younger people are just now discovering it. It's the weirdest feeling to see them enjoy what was a big part of our lives back then, especially in Seattle. As for the pain, Kurt was constantly in pain. Not just emotionally, but also physically.

It was 6 am and i hadn't slept a wink all night, so I decided to pull up the playlist of this particular concert and try to fall asleep to that. Despite liking quite a few nirvana songs, for some reason I had never listened to or watched this concert prior. Kurt belting out the chorus at the end put me in a state that I can only describe as a sleep-deprived trance. All the stress I had accumulated that night went away. I'll never forget that.

I was born in 1971 & for as far back as I can remember I’ve always been a music lover….thruout the years all sorts of other interests have come & gone but music has always remained important & vital at times,I was 20 when Nirvana was 1st getting big & I loved it,all of it :Soundgarden,Pearl Jam,Screaming Trees,Alice in Chains,Helmet,Primus,Butthole Surfers,Ministry,Chili Peppers,Faith No More, etc
The 1 thing I vividly remember thinking about Nirvana in spring of 94 is just how fast they came, brought shit around to the way it should be & then left, that was it ,what started in late 91-early 92 was burning out & burning out fast by 94…..after the release of “Superunknown” it had no place left to go…..It makes me really happy to see the younger generations are not only digging the music but they “get it” gives me hope 🖤🥶now stop trying to be rappers & pick up a instrument already 😉

Doesn't matter how much time passes or how often I hear this, still hits me like the first time. Emotion floods my body, chills up and down my spine, my arms, everywhere all at once. There's no stopping it. In those moments, it's as if Kurt's spirit is channeling my body. It's so powerful! No other vocalist has moved me in quite the same way. It's beyond hearing the voice, the words, the melody and somehow, you have become one with him, feeling his soul. DAMNN, hits so hard!

I love Nirvana so much, probably one of the greatest bands of all time, but I love that their influences include Leadbelly. You can tell when musicians are in love with music and how they seek out all those little nooks and crannies of musical goodness. I think Leadbelly would be absolutely in love with this version if he had heard it.
