Objectively, it's especially understandable when it's about people from an ethnicity you don't see daily. I LOVE xg and ofc know each of them now, but I remember watching them for the first time, and I can tell you I struggled lol
On top of that, they all have distinctive voices that separate each other.
you have to realize that he isnt familiar with K-POP he doesn't recognize when a girl shown on screen is a background dancer or a front stage. XG literally covers their face making them look like background dancers. Scientifically, we recognize faces we are familiar with and are less likely to distinguish faces we aren't. He just has to see more to be able to notice the little differences that you would see in white or black or hispanic people. A little understanding and grace on your part goes a long way.

Here’s a comment not about kpop. I really enjoy your commentary and personality, going into it with an open mind and expressing what you like and what could be better. Why are people wondering why so many fans want him to react to woke up? Shooting star maybe XG's best song but Woke up is the song that even non kpop fans fell in love with. For many new Alphaz, it is their introduction to XG. He may not like Woke up, not sure, still haven't finished watching this reaction as I comment this, but people assume the US would prefer Woke up than shooting star simply because it's sounds more western-ish than it sound kpop-ish if you know what I mean.
Yea, easier to introduce cuz it's less kpop or asian pop or idol pop whatever u call it, cuz this song is hip hop heavy which originated from the west, so westerner are likely more familiar to the genre. This, or Left Right, cuz that's R&B heavy
Not only that, but Woke Up is their newest release, which means more views for him on this reaction. He can always go back and react to the older releases.
So I watched his reactions, and he doesn't really vibe with Woke Up. And that's fine. As he said, he like Shooting star more. He like Shooting Star and Ditto. So it seems to me that he's more into the pop aspect of kpop then. Cause as he said, he likes Western rap so maybe that's why woke up doesn't impressed him that much. XG with Winter Without You has one of the best Christmas songs ever because of their harmonizing vocals and Woke Up will show hiphop fans that they should stop praising the garbage America puts out with hip hop artists like Ice Spice, Sexyy Red, Cash Cobain, and Lil Pump who can barely rap at all in their first language

my favorite line in woke up has to be “find me in tokyo rapping in a skirt, are you catching my drift tho?” because of how layered it is.
“find me in tokyo” refers to the fact that she, and the rest of xg, is japanese, as well as an homage to, as you mentioned with, the earlier “64” line referring to mario and the fact that super mario brothers is a japanese franchise.
“rapping in a skirt”, pretty simple, she raps and she wears skirts. but also the way she says “skirt” like “skrrt” as in the sound of wheels when a vehicle is drifting, connecting to the next part “are you catching my drift tho?”. this part connects the entire line together because **skrrt** - drift and tokyo - drift.

Maya’s solo dance was actually ASL, they also released a full ASL video for their hearing impaired/deaf fans. Simon their producer/creator received letters from hearing impaired fans so he had the girls learn ASL for them and shoot the video.

I really appreciate how respectful you are when giving your honest opinion. XG has sooo many good songs and their concept is very unique, so if you liked Shooting Star you'll probably enjoy Left Right and New Dance. Try to look up one of their choreographies too cause they're art. Especially GRL GVNG. They added sign language as part of the choreography and you'll be able to hear the full song since the MV didn't show the rap verse. It'd be amazing to see you give another chance to XG. Those girls exude talent.
