Thanks for your video. it was helpful to see the inside of the battery compartment untouched with the lid open w/out having to open the scooter up. Im curious about all of your upgrades and how they have affected the speed of your scooter? The weakness of the ecosmart razor is that it is very bad going up hills, and battery life/performance is not that great from the stock setup. I like your attempts to upgrade, but I am guessing that the much larger tires and much larger batteries have produced a significant overall weight increase in the scooters total weight. I would think this would affect the performance, especially if you are an adult on the heavy side of the maximum weight of the scooter's capacity which I believe is 220lbs for the stock motor. How is your speed now? I am guessing that after your tires were upgraded the battery upgrade was almost mandatory because of the size/weight increase. I have an ecosmart and I really like it, but I question sometimes these "upgrades" people like to do maybe in the end sometimes they are not always worthwhile with the battery upgrade being maybe the exception. Also did the bamboo lid fit back snug after the larger taller batteries were installed? Thanks again for taking the time to make the video ;)

I ride 9/10 of a mile to work and then leave my scooter unplugged and off for 9 hours. On my ride home the batteries are very low and I have a hard time making it all the way home. Will this upgrade help ?
These EcoSmart Metro scooters were awesome a few years ago but the lead acid batteries suck. I just got a Hiboy S2 Pro and it's far superior. It's faster, has a longer range with a lithium ion battery. Also, it has a headlight/tail light and a battery indicator/speedometer. It has shocks too. I weigh 250 and I get around 14-16 miles of range. You can customize the top speed with the app and I keep the top speed set at 19 mph. *Edit Oh and it's the same price as the EcoSmart Metro.
Just looked them up. They are $100-150 more expensive town what I paid for mine, and I wouldn't be able to take the hiboy to places I take the ecosmart. If I were a city dweller and all I ever travelled were sidewalks and the occasional side street it might be ok, but I punish my equipment.
What did you say you needed to add or extend in order to install the 12 amp hour batteries? Mine are being delivered today, and need to know what to buy when I'm in town
I bought mine at kohls.com for $350 on sale (seems to go on sale every few weeks) and they give you $70 in kohls cash, which I used to lower the price of my wife's scooter to $280.

I put in the same batteries 2 months ago. I only go 5 miles a day & the batteries are already going dead. Shoulden't they last longer then 2 monthe. Just had to ask you my friend
hey man, I upgraded my batteries to three 12V 12 Amp batteries and after a week, they all swelled up so bad, they fused together. I read from a Google search, this is due to over charging. Did you experience this problem with your upgrade? Did you change anything but the batteries and if not, how do you charge your batteries so you don't over charge them? The history of the three batteries I used were from two electric kids ride on karts and all of the batteries are at least 3 years old. I also left the charger plugged in a couple nights over night because the red light never went to green. I thought the red light never turning green meant it simply took much longer to charge since it was almost twice as a large as of the factory 7amp batteries. Can you help? Thank you!
Hey there! I grabbed the 15ah batteries and put them into this same scooter. They seem to put out less energy than 7ah batteries! I got 7 miles on 7ah batteries, the 15ah batteries are only going 5.5 miles! Might have gotten defective batteries though!
I can't believe you made Bobs wait. Don't you know the cat rules??? You are practically rebuilding that scooter. Very cool! Can you jump hills with it? :) KIDDING, don't do that. LOL
You should see my motorcycle. I can't own something with two wheels without upgrading and working on it! Also, bobs gets cat hair all over my sofa, he can wait lol
If the voltage increase's why doesn't the amperage, doesn't seem logical to say that the wiring of them side by side of 3 - 12 volt battery's would give you 36 volt, but the 7 amps don't add up to 21 amps. Just asking, and why not use the might mite 12 volt 15 amp to actually double your run time. I believe there exactly the same size and or a little bigger like the battery's you replacement of the old one's with but like you say the the higher the amps the further we go, the cost for the mighty mites is about 100.00 bucks. Hope to hear from you again in another video and that all goes well for you on your travels.
When you double or triple the voltage by wiring in series, the amps stay the same. When you wire in parallel you up the amperage, but the volts stay the same. I looked at all my options and chose the 12ah. That's why I didn't go with mighty mites. I trust Keyko batteries, plain and simple.
@@BNeilBrown Well from what I have come to understand the only increase happened when you went to 12 amp, regardless of how there wired, the voltage and the amperage remains the same, but by buying 12 amp verse's remaining with the 7 amp, you had a overall increase of 5 amps from the old. I'll check on the brand you mentioned and see if they have the 15 amp at the same size, which is the other consideration, if they don't fit, it won't work. So far measurement wise the mighty max / mites are the one's to check in on the, at a 100 bucks will see what Keyko has thanks. good luck on your travels and God be with you my friend, P&L ( : > ).
Nope. This back can't use the lith batteries. Lith ebike batteries do not have the discharge rate needed for this motor and controller. Lith batteries might go boom in this bike.

*Edit
Oh and it's the same price as the EcoSmart Metro.
Just looked them up. They are $100-150 more expensive town what I paid for mine, and I wouldn't be able to take the hiboy to places I take the ecosmart.
If I were a city dweller and all I ever travelled were sidewalks and the occasional side street it might be ok, but I punish my equipment.
Would’ve like to see you ride it on camera
Look around my older videos in the desert. I rode it every where
What did you say you needed to add or extend in order to install the 12 amp hour batteries? Mine are being delivered today, and need to know what to buy when I'm in town
How did it work out for you Brandy ? Looking to upgrade as well.
Your razor is not in your store does Amazon sell them?
Odd, it was in there. Let me re add it.
Well, I can't find it anywhere on Amazon now.
@@BNeilBrown that's weird maybe they stop selling them it's okay it's too expensive for me anyway they cost $400
I bought mine at kohls.com for $350 on sale (seems to go on sale every few weeks) and they give you $70 in kohls cash, which I used to lower the price of my wife's scooter to $280.
Excellent video
I took the tire of my scooter and now it doesnt turn the tire..What i did wrong..I have a video asking for help!
How to get rid of hiccups. Change your breathing pattern. Speed it up or slow it down your breathing & you'll get rid of your hiccups.
Love Bob at the end. Would he let you brush him outside of courses???
Sorry to bother you. I put my new batteries in & i go about 4 miles a day. Should i charge it every day or after a few days. AND Thank You for all the help you give us
I charge mine as often as possible. Always better to start with fresh batteries.
@@BNeilBrown Thank you kindly my friend
I put in the same batteries 2 months ago. I only go 5 miles a day & the batteries are already going dead. Shoulden't they last longer then 2 monthe. Just had to ask you my friend
Mine has lasted just fine?
Awesome job lol even Bubba will be happy with you. That is a major upgrade that is very good hack. 🇨🇦🇨🇦👍👍
Yep.
Awesome, I'm Bubba approved!
Awesome video just wish I could see ya ride it
Keep looking, I ride it a bunch in my episodes
I have that exact bar extender on my bike. It works great! That's a marvelous upgrade!
Did you have to reverse it like I did?
No, the included spacers fit my handle bar, and I didn't replace the support bar, I used the one that came with it. I like it.
What about Bob?
I’m looking forward to your videos from the rtr, I hope to make it out there next year. (Fellow Kentuckian)
hey man, I upgraded my batteries to three 12V 12 Amp batteries and after a week, they all swelled up so bad, they fused together. Thank you!
THEY HAVE A 15AH THAT IS THE SAME SIZE AS YOUR 12A, MORE THAN DOUBLE 7AH. FULL 36V IS 44V.
At this point it is December 1st there's like 13 hundred views in less than 500 likes get on the bandwagon people support this guy
I like my original. I weigh 200 pounds and it's all good.
Those glasses really look nice on you.
You save yourself a lot of money being so handy!!! Imagine if you paid someone for all the work you've done on your teardrop or bike.
Yep! I much prefer doing my own work, anyway.
Far easier to buy (3) lith, 12v 12ah, for $35 each out of china, OR 36v 12ah battery $120
Nope. This back can't use the lith batteries. Lith ebike batteries do not have the discharge rate needed for this motor and controller. Lith batteries might go boom in this bike.
I got my 12v 12ah batteries for $69
I have no legs...
