Two U-boats witnessed the sinking of Bismarck but neither engaged in battle. Prior to the final battle/sinking, up to 15 U-boats were dispatched in two different groups to form patrol lines to help the Bismarck. One group south of Greenland, another in the Bay of Biscay. U-556 was in prime firing position in the Bay of Biscay as HMS Ark Royal and HMS Renown passed directly in front of it. However, U-556 had spent its torpedoes previously and had nothing on board to fire. After the battle and realizing it's fate, Bismarck had messaged U-556 to fetch the logbook and other documents to keep from entering enemy hands. The message was never received as the U-boat was submerged during transmission. U-556 was also low on fuel and would not have been able to carry out these orders anyways. Another U-boat, U-74, watched the battle happen from a distance but did not engage. They ended up rescuing only 3 survivors from a dinghy that night.

Seeing the ships disappearing into the darkness always gave me chills as a kid
Same ahahahhaa
Me too
Imagine if a wolfpack did the escort for the Bismarck
Probably wouldent sink do to its support xD
@Rafael Enriquez if the commander of the subs callrd reinforcments. They'll probably hear the sinking of two ships hms rodney and hms king George v
Actually there was a u boat near by but it was out of torpedos so I couldn't do anything
The world would be a better place
When I played this mission 10 years ago, I managed to glitch the mission where the RN stopped firing at the Bismarck, and she never sank.
We won't question your methods, Kaleun, only recognise your efforts.
Terminator X its he, because is the king of the seven seas (sorry too much sabaton)
Ignacio Trigo I’ll let that slide because that is an awesome song. But she was never officially called he
@@Maximilian7992 Lutjens called Bismarck a He and that is enough for me.
Bismarck was a He
Felice Graziano only her captain and the Captain of U-566 called Bismarck “He” everyone else called Bismarck “She”
in an alternate timeline where U 556 hadn't spent its torpedos
Happy Bismarck noises
Thank goodness for Type 21's
actually you can do that in type 7 as well in the original game
I played Silent Hunter iii for hours about 6-7 years ago.
It was fun but I don't remember a mission with the mighty Bismark.
I always wondered if the The Uboats Helped The bismarck and protected her in this battle
There was a U-boat near irl but got too late to the action and couldn't help
@@penkagenova7073 it was u-556

Gonna save the Bismarck
If the torpedos hit the funnels you’ll save torpedoes and sink the ships faster.
Rodney and kgv: this is fine
If only ....
You Can sink the BB with half the torpedos and half the time by setting them to 12mt depth and magnetic pistol.. lol
What's a magnetic pistol?

that was excellent positioning and some quick action there.
wondering... how did you get those extra internal storage slots?
I know this is old but. That uboat had that many internal slots. Unfortunately or luckily they never released them before the war ended.

omg,,.... -10 ptk for English language. How could you? This game is compatible only with German.
I'm heavily triggered because the Bismarck does not fire back! :|
Lol she actually does! I thought the explosions are all from detonating enemy projectiles, not the guns of the Bismarck 😅
Heavy triggers might be why Bismarck wasn't.
I'll get my coat...
Bismarck's fire was very erratic during the final battle. One single hit somehow disabled half of Bismarck's main armament - two turrets.
Is this a mission in the game or is it and add on? I have this game on my pc but i have not played it in ages
The question is on which window to fire SH3 on 8,1 and 10 in a row
4:17 its reminds me that prince of wales got hit torpedo in the back during pacific war
Edit: but i know its not prince of wales " its king goerge V
Huh funny thing is the prince of Wales DID in fact engage Bismarck with the hood and the final battle
Where the heck that type 21 came from I use type 7 on that mission ?

hola
That bow tank
No its not a tank its a bow turret

Don't sink rodny because it is the parflest battleship in battle of warships.
can you sink the lusitania?
its not really in the game
