    My stance is and continues to be that Claudine Gay has plenty of experience quelling the speech of students she doesn't agree with. Her answer in front of Congress should have been simple because she is fully capable of stopping this behavior. While I appreciate this former professors example of two students having a one on one conversation about the topic of genocide, that is not the kind of behavior Congress was asking Claudine Gay about and she knew it. She sat there (as did the other professors) and tried to weasel her way out of taking a strong stance against this type of hatred and speech that is intended to incite violence. YES, Calling for the genocide of anyone is abhorrent language that should come with consequences and in the context it is being used on campus (and the actions against Jewish students) shows that it falls under the unprotected speech definition given by the Supreme Court in 1973. I look forward to Congress digging deep into these colleges to root out the biased administrative policies that exist in them.

      @genmen 10 месяцев назад

      The Supreme Court decisions do not apply here. Universities are private. So, they created their own code of conduct as it relates to speech on campus. And the issue is that they don't apply it uniformly; hypocrisy is pretty obvious. Bottom line, the government can't really interfere with that since none of this falls under the 1st amendment. They can, however, pull federal funding, which would be a nice step.
      The bigger issue is that science has been replaced by pseudosciences. The reason for all this is money. The created so many new fake science, such as gender studies, race related studies and what not. Now, they can accept much more students without requiring too many hard skills and get richer and richer from tuition.

    Remember when earlier in the year the number of total Arab civilians that were massacred in Syria surpassed 400,000 and people across the west didn’t show outrage or mass protest because it wasn’t the Jews who did it? Pepperidge Farms remembers. Pepperidge Farms remembers that no one cared because the masterminds behind HALF A MILLION total deaths were brutal, vicious ISLAMIC groups and dictators and not those darn ‘pesky’ Jews.
    I say this as a fully black woman and a moderate: the left’s hypocrisy knows no bounds anymore when it comes to when it’s okay to be violent and in regard to sexual assault, terrorism or racism. We used to have simple definitions for these words that most of the globe agreed on through the 90s and even through the 2010s but now all definitions have become meaningless because people have blurred the lines to a RIDICULOUS extent. People now have to do mental gymnastics to explain to you why it was okay to slaughter innocent Israeli children. This country is doomed if we can’t define things anymore. I even have people telling me (starting from about 5 years ago or so) that I can’t be racist now because I’m black. What kind of nonsense is this?
    So I can go around harassing white people for being born white? Call them cr*ckers as they walk by? I can do that, right?…Since my people have had a history of oppression here? I get a pass like Hamas, right? How far do these blurred lines go? Can I steal from stores if it is owned by white people? Can I k*ll innocent white families and kids due to my oppression? Where do you psychopaths draw the line? You see the problem with stretching the definitions of racism, genocide and terrorism to include oppression or past “colonization”? This needs to stop.

      You actually can go around disparaging whites if you want and it won't be considered racist or anything. Our own government listed white males as the biggest threat to our nation. Hell, that black guy who messed with that ladies dog and then turned the camera on to catch her freaking out was practically given an award, in spite of the fact that he admitted he messes with people's dogs to freak them out. There's a video of a black woman demanding an apology from a white woman for brushing against her daughter, even going so far as to stand behind their vehicle so they couldn't leave, in spite of the fact that she did apologize. But once the pregnant white woman pulled a gun on the lady, suddenly it was the white lady fault. Imagine a white woman demanding an apology from a black woman, getting the apology and then crying victim when they wouldn't quit screwing with the black woman. Black people, especially women, are in the same position that fragile Jim crow white women were. They can do no wrong.

      The question was not is discussing or privately supporting genocide a violation of the policy.
      Instead of Jews, let’s substitute a person. Is discussing, or even expressing agreement with the killing a person covered under free speech? Probably, depending on the context. Is CALLING for a person to be killed? No. That is incitement of violence or intimidation / harassment.

    There is "free speech" on University Campuses. The speech that the University will allow you to speak.
    Liberals love free speech, what it is will be determined by unseen other liberals. Cowardice run deep in liberalism. Do you notice, nobody in the liberal side shows their face when they remove your free speech.
    The one US Senator asked the Harvard President about whom determines acceptable free speech on her Campus. She (President) refused to answer the question. But here is the kicker, those same people whom determine "free speech" on Campus, are the same people whom will boot you off campus because of your "free speech".
    We have all seen how Universities deal with "conservative leaning speakers" wanting to do a speech on a University Campus. If you are a Ben Shapiro, you are closed down in a heart beat. If you are a Michael Knowles, you are shut down in a heart beat. If you are Dennis Prager, again. Shut down.
    But if you are that Kendi fella spouting off racist diatribes about White people. You are applauded. Same goes for Pro-Hamas Muslim Brotherhood speakers.

I’m not sure it is an argument. . .whether someone is emotional or not has little to do with whether they are right or wrong? How many men must be in prison, anyway, to sate your taste? Perhaps some reader will feel you’ve made a strong case and imitate you. Anyway, I think you are going entirely in the wrong direction. I don’t think I understand your response to the left. To make this a gender issue, whatever women girls are doing, boys and men should take heed and frankly, emulate them. Condemning people for being able to see both sides of an issue only serves to promote extremism. Few things are black and white, if a stance cannot withstand acknowledgement of valid opposing points, then it is weak. Choosing a side or "team" and closing your mind to any other viewpoints gets us nowhere. Acknowledging valid opposing viewpoints encourages those opposed to do the same, a path to solutions can be forged on common ground.
      The fact that i can be pro-Israel and still question their methods is healthy. Being moderate, sensible and open minded only angers extremists.

      That doesn't change the fact that Transgender people have always existed. Up until the 12th week of gestatino, all foetuses are female. Then hormonal influences change some to male. However, in some cases that does not change the brain pattern. So boys are born with girl brains, and vice versa. Studies using MRI scans have proven this. The ability to reproduce is irrelevant. Doctors assign gender at birth but that doesn't mean they are infallible. Doctors make mistakes that kill people every day. ps..Jesus never said a word about Transpeople but he did say " Treats others as you would have them treat you" . Try to live up to that morality.
