Hi I'm from New Orleans! I recognized some landmarks and important avenues. These video clips weren't only from the Lower Ninth Ward. A lot are also from the Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Upper Ninth Wards, and also the Marigny. But man, some of these streets and areas are worse than Detroit's! 😳 😮
You can bet the situation was like that pre-Katrina. All over the South, many predominately non-white and some white communities bear the same scars of neglect. Politicians are responsible for some community deterioration, some, the inhabitants' with their poor value systems and some, inadequate skilled labor workforce. Until these neighborhoods establish their own economic infrastructure, they will continue to suffer. Nobody is going to fix your community for you but you. If someone else fixes it for you, you are unlikely to take care of the product. Let that sink in for a minute and get busy improving your quarter acre lot. Hopefully, your neighbor will copy your efforts and so on, until the whole community is upgraded. Then, maybe the politicians will help with street upgrades. Hope comes from within!

Well, this is the upper 9th ward, you need to cross the bridge over the canal to be in the lower 9. Nice vid of the northern reaches of Bywater, however.
This actually looks a lot better than what I thought it would, figured it would look like Detroit where almost all the lots on a block are empty and the few houses standing are burned, condemned/abandoned and falling in on themselves. Figured after the hurricane a lot of people never moved back and expected to see way more vacant lots/abandoned houses. Looks like most of those were being lived in judging by cars parked in front of them. Also you can see some of these houses have been raised up 4 or 5 feet off the ground because of the hurricane.

Louisiana is sinking and no amount of asphalt will hold up. The richest areas in New Orleans have the same roads and worse. The next Katrina may be the end. Just like the west coast with fires, flooding landslides and earthquakes. Move away. Earth constantly evolves and moves on and there is no stopping Mother Nature and the evolution for said Earth.

Millions of dollars worth of shiny new cars, though.
So poor people shouldn't own a nice car! 😢There are hard working middle class people in this neighborhood. Some of the houses a beautiful! And some of them that look terrible on the outside can look so warm and inviting on the inside because they are filled with love
Millions ? YOu wouldnt by any chance be a white guy with a SUPERIORITY COMPLEX, now would you ? Like the kind of idiot that watches Maury Povich, just to make fun of '''dumb blacks""? I suspect you are, Pinky.
Was down there in 2006 after the hurricane and that area looked like a war zone. Looks a helluva lot better now but you can see that more needs to get done
I was in NOLA looking for a place to stay with the now ex wife back after Katrina. We were there for the rebuilding effort. She was already unimpressed; prices were 3x what were were used to for half as much. However, I could tell we were NOT moving there once I drove her through the lower 9th ward.
Nice to see you finally made it down to the "Not So Easy." The Lower 9th is definitely gritty in some parts. But like much of New Orleans, this area has been inundated with hipsters and crust punks. You should have went to Central City or the 7th Ward. Shit gets really real in those 'hoods. Anyway, I always enjoy seeing you drive down the roads less traveled.
James Matthews I love the roads less travelled fuck the interstates because it was those concrete land gobbling monstosities that ruined much of the USA in the first place.
My cousins live in the white one story house at 9:23 and the neighborhood is actually pretty safe for the most part. Crazy shit happens every once in a while but its chill usually
That was fine maneuvering you did on those narrow, pothole riddled streets. I love the colorful homes in New Orleans. However, I would not want to live there. That was a relaxing ride. Thank you,
Well dang that was depressing. I know it's winter but, where are all the trees? Where are the stores? As a lifelong californian I'd probably fall into depression living there it's so dark and desolate. I'm thankful for these videos though, I used to complain about California but man it's a lot more green and nicer on the eyes than a lot of these places. I mean the ghetto parts suck but at least they have trees.
rechelieu tartempion - Ummm I wasn't exactly criticizing the city itself I was moreso talking about the lack of greenery and vegetation which is a result of the geographical placement, terrain, and climate of Louisiana, not anything the Africans created or didn't create. I understand there are less stores because it's a more rural area towards the outskirts.
Hersheys B - Well just about anywhere is more humid than California. I live here. We might be "dry" compared to other parts of the country but our humidity levels are actually pretty normal. The heat feels very dry, but I'd rather take that than humid heat. When I went to New York in the summer, I took a shower stepped outside and immediately felt dirty. My skin became sticky literally upon walking outside, right after taking a fresh shower! I know it's just moisture but my skin feels sticky and dirty every time I go to the east coast. It's amazing how different it feels in different states.
American Dude those are 10 to 20 miles outside the city, so pretty much suburbs, a lot of MS & the south is nice, just commenting on what's being shown
@@freeralo6787 Thank you for your question. I live 84 miles from Kiyv in a small town where the southern bypass road is not finished. As a result, heavyweights have to drive directly through the geographical center here. In addition, in our country there are problems with overloaded trucks that destroy both old and new roads. Roads in Kiyv are good, at least for the last 5 years.
god boy That’s interesting, thanks for the insight. One of the rare things we do well in the US are weight inspections, where heavy trucks are required to weighed as they cross from state to state. If they are overweight, they may not be allowed to continue. In small towns with poor infrastructure, heavy trucks would be prohibited. It sounds like these policies would be useful in Ukraine, but only if corruption could not undermine the process

@@rubicunduseratiudas1264.....RUBI, not in the villages like Tong Du Chang where the toilet is a hole in the sand and most time inside the house.
@@agustindejesus7398 North Korea looks definitely A LOT BETTER...
I wonder if they are gonna ever rebuild the Six Flags.
Time warp! Some dude using a pay phone!
My momma nem grew up on Tennessee street and my auntie had a house on lizardi and my other auntie stayed on tupelo cross the canal

Wow he finally hit New Orleans...
Hey Charlie.... please do videos of South La.... Cajuns there...also still Plantations there with people still living there.... interesting.... Check out Abbeyville...Morgan City...etc...
Have heard this land was a source of very talented local singers and musicians, a.ka blues. How could they find inspiration in a place like this? Quite amazing. Thanks for the video, USA in not only wealthy and richness. Greetings from Brazil.
Do you at all know what the blues means???
They still have pretty decent houses in the ward.
seem like mostly what i see
Wize One some of those weren’t bad
Wait till the next hurricane!
Ikr! It's all in how u keep up your property;
I still love that style house. And it definitely is colorful.
Ellen MC - I noticed a lot of colorful places on this one. Pretty.
Ellen MC Very stylish looks like Rome Italy ha ha .
Me gustan tus videos te veo desde Cartagena Colombia
I’ve been through some of the worst, most dangerous neighborhoods in the US (Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland). But this...this is just freaking sad as hell.
Milwaukee is just as bad. Milwaukee not safe New Orleans gentrified.
They basing safety off the bad roads and blight.
Damn those are the nicest cars I’ve ever seen in a hood lol
I always liked the old pier and beam houses in Louisiana.
shot gun houses 2!
Really awesome shit! Dude, keep good work~!
So can someone tell me why Essence continues to have their events in New Orleans?
Didn't Mayor Nagin want a chocolate City? Welcome to the Democratic Plantation!
Poo ON YOU!
get back into your nasty shithole hovel under the bridge u stupid fuckin troll piece of shit LOL
john doe you must be a dumbass racist, just like yo boy in prison, Nagin.
- Lives in a trailer park, on a republican plantation
Damn Charlie u gonna need a 4x4
And a hazmat suit, all that standing water, I bet that place is crawling with disease.
Armored personnel carrier.
Are the blocks showing on certain houses because of the Katrina flooding? Or is that normal?
Were any of these areas under water during Katrina? Thanks for answers.
The majority of this is the 8th ward and New Orleans has looked like this and worse before Katrina
How do people live in these conditions? Like I know times are hard but I would be extremely depressed.
Its Sharlele I totally agree!
I wouldn’t if u kno ppl in there area just gotta adapt if u from da hood
We are depressed you must not hear the new stories
Most ppl who live ina hood are not deapressed i’d rather live ina neighborhood like this n get my money up then a rich fake neighborhood n specially if u know ppl around it’s nothing
DrugRixh 1.5 naw this is New Orleans we’re depressed you see Katrina is still showing and that happened in 2005 soon all the native blacks will be gone and whites will just build over this and make it non affordable plus our schools promote going to prison cause they gave up on us
Where are the stores/It looks Really bad where I’m from Mississippi.but couldn’t live in the country anymore I don’t think
Can't wait to move back to my second home. Enjoyed Louisiana before moving back to Iowa. Hopefully sometimes next year I'll be back.
The roads are so bad
John Doe About as much as bush and Obama I'd say
Lack of a tax base will do that over the years
Its Louisiana home of some of the worst roads.
better if they scrap them roads and build the wall with em
Louisiana is sinking and no amount of asphalt will hold up. The richest areas in New Orleans have the same roads and worse. The next Katrina may be the end. Just like the west coast with fires, flooding landslides and earthquakes. Move away. Earth constantly evolves and moves on and there is no stopping Mother Nature and the evolution for said Earth.
Millions of dollars worth of shiny new cars, though.
CARS cost more than their houses.
Not owned financed
Millions of dollars? Those cars really aren't that expensive. Nothing all that fancy. Maybe you are easily impressed
I love your videos bro.
A poor hood with big old houses......very clean place. I have seen worst places all over the US. Two hands for nola.....well done.
I bet you couldn’t ride around like this in the old New Orleans💯it was a war zone everywhere
That's Alot Of Cities Back In The Days. Im From Little Rock. They Legit Color Banged Up Until Probably 04' 06'.

Another excellent video sir. Thank you.
Pretty houses almost everyone has a new car- what am I supposed to be looking h at/ for? This looks nicer than most places I've lived
I will say a prayer for new Orleans.
Me to
Everybody comes out at night🎭 But the night dont have eyes!
I was in NOLA looking for a place to stay with the now ex wife back after Katrina. We were there for the rebuilding effort. She was already unimpressed; prices were 3x what were were used to for half as much. However, I could tell we were NOT moving there once I drove her through the lower 9th ward.
I see you ran some lights... I WOULDNT STOP EITHER LMAO
James Matthews I love the roads less travelled fuck the interstates because it was those concrete land gobbling monstosities that ruined much of the USA in the first place.
how about 3rd ward
I m italian i love new orleans and u.s.a
My cousins live in the white one story house at 9:23 and the neighborhood is actually pretty safe for the most part.
Hey don't criticize this type of place cause they all are the REAL Wakanda created by real african ! :)
Believe it or not the south is more green and humid than dry ass California
richelieu tartempion plus day got kangs and shieet!
rechelieu tartempion - Ummm I wasn't exactly criticizing the city itself I was moreso talking about the lack of greenery and vegetation which is a result of the geographical placement, terrain, and climate of Louisiana, not anything the Africans created or didn't create.
If you're still in the NOLA, it'd be dope if you drove through the 3rd Ward. See how the Calliope, Magnolia, and Melph hoods are doing these days.
ThePhrozenPhoenix our country is turning into one big super slu

Kerry Ryder The middle class shrinks. Poverty and homeless grow.
The projects themselves are all torn down.
i think this one and the camden new jersey video take the cake man... a city of lost souls
I would love if you put the street legend, so we could know where is the location. Please do that for us.
Rough spot for sure, but not completely bombed out like Jackson MS
Douglas Kasten A lot of New Orleans is decayed and bombed out he just hasnt hit the rest of the city yet.
Robert Preskop cool, but EVERYWHERE in Jackson was & that's the capitol of MS????
American Dude those are 10 to 20 miles outside the city, so pretty much suburbs, a lot of MS & the south is nice, just commenting on what's being shown
YOU NEVER ACTUALLY MADE IT INTO DA "LOWER" 9TH WARD.. KOOL VIDEO THO..
@Tammy Fletcher What's that supposed to mean??
@Tammy Fletcher So.. You seen actually aliens in that video??
@Tammy Fletcher You are a piece of shyt..
I'm curious as to what dash cam you are using.
how come some sort of tracks appear in the middle of the street at 6.50 ?
7:22 This so similar to a typical Ukrainian street.
god boy In which part of Ukraine are the roads this bad? Are the roads OK in Kiev at least?
Yeah, the same thought) but roads in Russia are worse than this)
I question myself where is located the "House of the rising sun"
You don't know?I was told it was the Hotel Villa Convento on the Rue des Ursulines inthe Vieux Carre. Right across from the Croissant d'Or.
VERY NICE BRO 👍👍👍YOUR VIDEOS INSPIRES ME 👍👍👍
the old sofa dumped in the front garden really brings out the colors of the Chrysanthemums don't you think ?
