- In a roundtable discussion with Bearing Arms Cam & Co, several Massachusetts firearms instructors say the sweeping new gun control bill approved by the legislature last week will have a crippling impact on the ability of Massachusetts residents to exercise their Second Amendment rights.
It’s ironic that Massachusetts where first battles of American Revolution took place are infringing citizens’ 2A rights
It makes sense that the first states formed would be the first to become authoritarian. Government's natural tendency is to grow over time.
it was also the state with a ton of closet loyalists to the crown.

My local police station told me he was the only one processing applications. They didn't have help.
Law enforcement officials were not for it until they were notified that they were exempt from it, then agreed to it?? EBT cards can be used to buy ammunition??? Semi automatic shotguns , rifles that have been used for decades for hunting will be banned??? Every LTC/FID/HUNTING/FISHING/SPORTING license holder needs to vote out every single person who wrote , voted for this bill to pass!! It does nothing but take away our RIGHTS , NOT PRIVILEGE to keep and bear arms if we choose to do so!! Vote them out for good , if not they will keep grabbing and grabbing until there is nothing left !!!

The Puritanical strict authoritarian MA legislature and judicial systems have been do it our way or the highway since before the witchcraft trials (1692). I know as I have observed the MA authoritarianism my entire life and I am 75 years old. The only known grave of a convicted witch is in town. He saved his life by pleading guilty, saying he was sorry, and by promising never to do it again. The accussed witches from town professing their innocence were executed. He got released from jail when the hysteria ended and his family still operates a farm in town. Some of the witchcraft trial judges professed the rightiousness of their findings of witchcraft guilt till the day they died of old age. Few repented and apologized for their injustice. Refuse to grovel and you will get punished for not "acknowledging" their elite rightiousness. The MA way.

I lived in RI and worked in Massachusetts for 63 years. I moved to Texas three months ago. It was expensive and a logistics hassle but I'm glad I moved. I went to my first gun show and everyone had firearms in public. I felt like I was on another planet.

A right delayed is a right denied, a fee charged to obtain permission to exercise a right is a poll tax. Both of these are unconstitutional.

Any litigation against this bill should request that State or Federal Courts punish this politicians for violations covered under the Fourteenth Amendment, 42 USC Section 1983 and BIVENS action.
This is what's been sorely missing from the Constitution - sanctions for elected officials who violate it.
@@upStomp I've said it for a long time. The founders really missed the mark by not including willfull violations of public officials' oaths of office in the legal definition of treason. If the gallows awaited these tyrants, they wouldn't be so brazen.
None of this is constitutional! We are just conditioned in MA to accept these laws. It’s the most discriminative bill we’ve seen in this state. Low socioeconimal citizens will never be able to afford to exercise their 2A right with the costs it will take to complete the multitude of classes this bill proposes.
You'd think it would be one of the most gun friendly too. Lexington & Concord was over confiscating guns, & the Boston tea party was for 2% tax...
I know how it hurts, I'm in Buffalo NY & they already imposed most if not all of that here already. Good luck & stay strong.

$100 just to apply for a LTC permit application that also requires the additional expense of a mandated class just to apply is a poll tax and undoubtedly racist, prejudice and bigoted.

The fudds of MA certainly have played a part in this. I’m 28 and it took me 7 years to join a rod and gun club. Even now after being a member there for over a year they still treat me like dirt at their competitions, taking all the fun out of it. The fudd culture here has restricted the 2A from being embraced and gaining traction. In some ways they’re significantly worse than any wokie

The club I’m a part of only opened up memberships because the median age of their members was 76 years old

@@shall2117These "sportsman, rod and gun" clubs lost a lot of membership during covid, a town club near me opened up application to through sponsorship. At least 20 people joined in 2021 alone.

Massachusetts Police Chiefs Association opposed the original bill, HB4420, unanimously because it was unenforceable. Take a page out of Illinois gun owners' playbook, DO NOT COMPLY.
as a mass resident and also a LTC recipient, i would like to assist in petitioning this so we can stop this madness!! we really need to get those people out of office before all our rghts are taken away from us!!
The state firearms licensing unit is way under staffed. Not a priority in Mass unfortunately.

Most of them couldn't define "semi-automatic".
They disarm the people but the cops still have military gear. MA just bought a load of M4s for the police. For what? What war are we fighting in MA? Sounds like a lose lose if I can’t defend myself but the state is outfitted for a war.

Most PDs get the applications to the state pretty quickly. The state takes a long time to send it out. 2 to 4 months typically.
Some towns hold the applications and then send in batches.
It is irresponsible of any legislator to vote on a bill that they haven't read and don't understand. There should be a 30 day waiting period on a vote on any large omnibus bill to ensure each legislator has adequate time to read the bill and ask questions.
I know so many Gun owners in Mass that have the attitude, I already have my LTC or a certain gun so it doesn't affect me.. The worst attitude to have!!

ALL the Police Departments blame the wait for LTC License on the Massachusetts State Police for Extremely Slow Response and Return of License.
It's time GOAL got busy and sued the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for Violations of our 2A Rights. GOAL has never done this and not sure why not. I blame the LTC owners also for not standing up for their rights to these politicians. It's time to vote them out and Repeal these new laws.
Cape gunworks is setting up a petition we need at minimum 50k signatures but were trying to make an impact statement by getting 100k statewide so any and every gunshop statewide should have a petition paper setup for this bill to be surpressed till election day.

Talk to your family, friends and coworkers, inform them of this, many don't know how egregious this law is. Urge everyone to contact Healey's office and voice your opposition to this bill on the grounds that the majority of the topics are in courts across the nation being challenged on the unconstitutionality of such laws.
Who's going to pay the liability insurance? The private ranges won't pay for that. Is the state going to pick up that cost?? That will run in the 10's of millions at least. Where's that funding coming from?

I took my firearm safety course in june. I dropped off the application with all of the proper documentation, along with the application fee at my local PD twice. it got mailed back on both occasions advising to call for an interview. it took a few weeks and multiple voicemails to get someone on the phone. and now my interview is all the way out for September. I think I'm screwed
I think it also used to be that if you had an LTC from another state with similar requirements you did not have to take a Massachusetts LTC course. Now you do if you are a non resident

90 days for Maryland, but it's happening a bit sooner than that now. We've had a live fire mandate since 2013.

Remember in November! MA EBT cards have a SNAP food account and some have DTA cash benefit accounts. The food account can not be used for non-food items, and some food items like hot food (hot subs) are not allowed. No fast food drive through or in store fast food purchases allowed. The maximum daily SNAP benefit at this time is about $9.57 per person. Bon appetit. SNAP food benefits cannot be used to buy soap and toilet paper.
Cash DTA benefits have been forbidden for alcoholic beverages,. Court-ordered fees, fines, bail or bail bonds. Firearms and ammunition. Gambling. Why are they now OKing ammo purchases?
It doesn't make any sense. If ebt (tax payer subsidized funds) can purchase ammo, then the 100 application fee and mandatory training can be funded by taxes collected on ammo and arms.
I am surprised though that they did not throw mandatory insurance in on your home owners insurance. That would have priced a lot of people out

I am a certified home firearms, safety, instructor, NRA, pistol instructor, Shotgun, instructor rifle, instructor range officer my question is I do not have a place to do live fire that means she just put me out of work. I was going to try to put something together for retirement, but have no place to do live fire for qualifications someone to come in and please help us.

Now my wife and I have had enough we are planning too sell our house and move too a gun friendly state where we don't have to worry about being infrared upon

Also to say to this it has to be statewide. If i did not mention it cant be more than 25% in one county of the total amount of signatures it has to be to somewhat equal staewide
Hello 2A friends. Let me up date my LTC time line in Boston. I applied and dropped off my application BPD on June 5. Received the phone call on August 28 at 6:50 pm 😳to set up fingerprinting. Make sure you pay attention to your phone. They will call you only no emails. I was fingerprinted BPD on September 5 and it took 15 minutes. They give you a copy of your application after you sign their copy. Then you’re done. The officer said I’m all set. Fingerprints will be sent off today. Keep a look out in the mail for your LTC.👍🏾
My wife received her call from BPD on 9/4 at 5:13 pm for fingerprinting. Her fingerprinting will be done on 9/9. So that should give you a general timeline of the process. I was kind of shocked when we heard back so fast from both submitting on the same day on June 5. I’ll update when I receive it from the time of fingerprinting.
Mass resident gun owner here. Me and all my friends are horrified by this bill enough for discussions on moving. This is a communist state at this point.

EBT can be used out of state, and if your able to use it to buy ammo than you can got to NH and buy ammo. Kinda of a set up to blame NH for ammo violence

@@mafirearmsafety the law is so poorly written and many of the mandates are not funded with this law that it seems there should be a grace period for enactment, I'm hoping this flaw will be the reason this law gets injunctive relief in court.
