Shania was on FIRE in that era. She was the perfect mix of wholesome sexiness with a twinkle in the eye and unlike a lot of super attractive singers she could actually sing really well. This is another of hers that I like a lot.
Don't forget to add Mutt Lange as the producer. Everything he touched during that timeframe went gold.
Would be curious to see the reaction of how many songs were produced by Mutt Lange.

Mine as well. I am divorced now and have gone through some life changing events (not in a good way). I felt like giving up at times and this song brought me strength just as Shania is a survivor - so amazing and strong a person. ♥To me, this isn't about my ex-partner (who hurt me psychologically and emotionally) but about all those wonderful people who hugged me when I needed it 🥰and helped me to survive.
She was a crossover with country and pop. Her songs had hooks and were immaculately produced. She's up there as a record holder.

Mutt Lang is mainly responsible for creating those hooks. She was married to him.

This was my husband and my favorite song. He has passed but I still remember when they would say stuff like that about us. He was 21 years older then me. True love is something you can’t deny. We were married 27 years before he passed. It’s been 17 years now but I still miss him and love this song still.

Yes, I have often said that there have been some of the most amazing singers coming out of Canada. An incredible female singer who was hugely popular in the 70's and early 80's is Anne Murray. "You Needed Me", "Snowbird", "Could I Have This Dance"... she mostly would be described as having a country western sound.
Elvis once said she was his favorite female singer back then.

This was my wedding song, after dating my French husband for 6 years. Family said we wouldn't make as we were from such different backgrounds. We were married for 15 years with one daughter. I was by his side when he died from lung cancer in hospice. This will always be our song. 7 years later I still miss him so much. Thank you for playing this song. Brought back lots of memories.

I LOVE Shania Twain. I have seen her in concert over 10 times and already have tickets for her July 11th show at Madison Square Garden. She is phenomenal and so genuine. She is the only performer I have ever seen live who signed autographs and took selfies with her fans while she was singing. Fun fact: Shania Twain is actually her stage name. Her real name is Eileen Edwards.
