Having driven the Stonic I was honestly left impressed at how composed it was. It was fun to drive also which is just a bonus. Thanks for the clear review :)
I recently bought the Kia Stonic GT line, it has a 1 litre turbo and a 7 spd dual clutch transmission. It solves a lot of the power issues and runs at usual 5.4 ltrs /100. Love driving this little beast
A lot of Kia customers are complaining about customer support and mean warranty interpretation. Kind of makes the 7 year warranty look like a scam. Also the Kia has a tiny gutless engine. Packaging in the Kia is better though. My pick, neither… if forced I’d pick the made in Japan CX3.
Yep, spot on I am a KIA customer unfortunately. My vehicle has been using coolant since day 1, now after 50K it's still going down. The KIA dealership and KIA tell me nothing is wrong. I am now taking them to court! KIA 7 year warranty is worthless.......
Everything you say that the Mazda hasn't got, including alloy wheels ,heated mirrors (and heated front seats and steering wheel - which is leather covered) and automatic headlights is included on my CX3. I didn't notice the Kia having a head up display either. The fact the touch screen locks when driving is NOT a disadvantage - it's a SAFETY feature. I wouldn't like to be a passenger in your car if you are poking about on your touch screen instead of concentrating on the road. With a bit of practice the manual controls are better - you don't get fingerprints on the screen. The Mazda is a far better car with head up display, forward radar, automatic wipers, lane assist, blind spot warning and emergency braking assist.
We drove the Kia Stonic Sport auto today prior to then driving the Mazda CX3.. was surprised that the engine in the stonic revved heaps when slowly accelerating around a corner or from a stop., has anyone had this issue? I thought it may have been the way my wife was driving but it happened at every corner or starting to accelerate… was rather annoying.. so won’t be buying the 1.4litre . other than that, the car is good value.. so we decided to drive the 1l turbo GT, heaps better performance and doesn’t have the high revs when accelerating..plus looks great and good value for money.. the cx3 was ok but the stonic has more room in the back seats and seems more stylish inside… still haven’t decided what to buy yet but looks like the stonic GT May win..

These days Koreans exceed Japanese in every aspect.

Thank you for the great review, greetings from Belgium, Europe !
Would take the Mazda cx3 the stonic is let down by that lethargic 1.4 .the Mazda you get decent 2.0 eng and 6 SP TC auto
It would be nice if the mid spec Stonic had the same engine as the Hyundai venue
Great review
And what exactly are "Australian local road conditions"?
Lots of potholes
Liked the vide. In 4 years, what will be the resale value of Kia v Mazda? Serious question.
kia has 7 year warranty so it'll be good and is good.
Should not use touch svrren while driving so Mazda has locked it
what colour is the stonic in??
Why is the kia’s rear “unoriginal”?
I bought Stonic sport, I like the car but I really hate the 1.4 engine.
Mazda❤
For 0 - 60 kph, the Stonic is a WHOLE 3 seconds slower..its a slug!
Mazda has a tiny boot. That’s important for my family.
Kia looks cheap and boring . I go with Mazda :).
Cheap and boring? 😆🤦♀️🤦♀️ Absolutly not.
Every Australian car review: "locally tuned suspension"
Who gives a monkey's. Ridiculous
Go KIA.
