    Even though you don't normally de-ess as a mastering engineer, I would recommend it on that vocal stem.

      @gossipboynyc9625-VN 4 месяца назад +1

      It would give the vocal more space to gain more in front of the mix, especially with fresh air clarity on it. After loudening / enhancing, master still sounds cramped so he's not doing enough mid and side I don't think

    thanks for being succinct and well spoken. for most RUclipsrs, this video would be twice as long due to repeating things again and perhaps again.
    if i want to listen to a section again, RUclips is pretty good about letting me rewind a video......

    I think it's important to say, that if your mixes sound s**t, your masters will never ever sound good, no matter what technique you apply.

      enough with that bs, people will eventually learn that by time and practice, not by a random dude saying this same shit in every mastering tutorial, grow up.

      @@rotkerid462it's obvious that people will learn, still doesn't hurt to say it again, especially for the newbies.

    I'm a bit confused. How is doing individual changes not just more mixing, rather than mastering? I thought mastering is done to the finished mix? (I'm learning, or trying to lol). Thanks!

      You’re right. They say there’s “stem” mastering but I don’t really believe in that either lol. Master is traditionally one track bounced from the mix.

    YEP!!! Just figured this out last month. Changes everything. Your fav records are being mastered with stems or a session that is close to the actual mix session.

    I have always heard the company mentioned a few times here, pronounced as EVEN-tide, not like uh-VEN-tide. I'd be curious which is correct. I'm 54 and have been a gear head for 40 years, for background.
