At a show in Australia, someone in the crowd yelled out 'play some heavy metal', Dave Wyndorf responds by saying 'Honey, your at the wrong concert' Classic!
My first impression of monster magnet, was the same as my first impression of Danzig when he first went solo...this is heavier than "metal"! And that's still my opinion to this very day. Hard rock, full balls out rocknroll is heavier than any pretentious attempt make it heavier. It's all about soul. If yer not heavy in yer soul, no amount of noise is gonna make yer music heavy. That's why Neil young, for example, is heavier than, uh.... Slipknot.
The best album since Dopes to Infinity. Thought I would miss Ed, but it sounds more like he was holding them back more than helping if this is what they are without him. Fucking epic man.
@@Tsotha It's impossible for me to say. Depends on what's going on with my life. Dopes was my first listen and hell yeah love it mucho. Self titled "space Lord" got me in trouble with "Johnny " compliments of new neighbors but God says no probably gets most play in my world even tho monolithic happened to be at the counter like office max or something on my birthday so it was mandatory of course without regrets. Bet. I especially dig how every album is a new sound sometimes kinda dramatically yet always obviously the mighty MM. MONSTER MAGNET FuckingRocksmy Neighbors block. Guaranteed 💯 😎😎Too Cool
Fuck yes.. absolutely love MM. Been a big fan since the Dopes to infinity album came out.. Most underated rock band of all time probly.. Glad to see there still making master pieces and still got there epic sound that nobody else has.
probably my favorite Monster Magnet album. Last Patrol shows that Dave is going to write the songs he wants to write, and damn good ones. he doesn't care about repeating the commerciality of Powertrip. just writing a great album.
In Dave's own words, taken from their forum site: "Yep, Jim is out. He’s a busy guy who has a life besides being in a band and his schedule and Monster Magnet’s were clashing too often. And of course the quality of the music is the top priority so it’s time for a change. Jim rocked it hard (nobody rocks harder than Jimmy Bags) for ten years with Magnet and we’d like to thank him for all the good times and great, great shows. He’ll be missed. No replacement yet. Stay tuned....."
ahhhh man, I sure miss eddie! odd seeing the band without him. nice return to form though on this one, another great magnet album, good to hear dave kind of come back to center after the last one.
Lead singer Dave Wyndorf is playing bass now for the live shows?Because i'm going to see them in Toronto,Ontario on Dec.10th@Lee's Palace with my buddy who's a huge MM fan, he's been a MM fan since their inception & he got me into them back in like 1995 i think it was with the song, 'Space Lord' & that famous album, 'Super Judge' i think it's called? But looking forward to seeing them live.I wanted to see them live a few years back with another band i like, 'Seventh Void' from Brooklyn New York.
Monster was Dave and Magnet was Ed...i follow them since 1991.....Anyway i think their new album is one of their best album, after 1995 Dopes to Infinity...Come in Greece damn it!!!
I thought they were done around Monolithic. Sometimes it is good to be wrong. Dopes, Superjudge and now Last patrol are in the TIMELESS CLASSICS section of my music library. Do it again Dave, I fucking dare you! :D
+bmw540ia - Garrett Sweeney of RiotGod's on lead, with Phil Caivano on rhythm, leaving Dave to cover bass (while I presume Kosnik was busy with one of his other projects, like The Atomic Bitchwax)
Phil Caivano plays lead guitar on that song. As a matter of fact he does All of the guitar work and bass on the record. Not to take anything away from Garrett I think he's done a great job very talented.
Ya they toured together about 3 or 4 years ago over in Europe. Ya i'm a massive Type O Negative fan & loved it when the two Type O Negative members Kenny Hickey & Johnny Kelly formed Seventh Void about 10 years ago is when they started that project & Vinnie Paul helped them produce it on his label & then Seventh Void signed with Napalm Records. But ya I'm a massive Type O Negative fan & love Kenny Hickey's vocals on Seventh Void.
Rocks yer socks off, back with a bang and meaning business, great song and vid. Good to see Dave looking cool again....Imagery is only second to the music in my books.

+Robb Hotdog - Chris was busy at the time with TAB (The Atomic Bitchwax) his band with former Magnet guitarist Ed Mundell & Magnet drummer Bob Pantella. Dave's a multi-instrumentalist who usually plays rhythm & sings but since Phil Caivano came back Dave's been free to focus more on vox & composition
One of the most underrated bands ever !
they're better that way mate. I love pulling out MM when nobody is expecting it. Always blows somebody's mind.
Better to be underground than commercial. \m/
In the groove metal genre...they are next to the top...
This music is too good for the masses.
@@whisperingthunder2107 Pantera was the god for that. But MM is so cool!
Monster Magnet rules. Wyndorf is a genius!
I admit to not being into monster magnet in their hay day. but Dave Wyndorf might be a genius.
Strangely prophetic lyrics for current times

"Lost Patrol" is tied with "Superjudge" for the position of my favourite MM album

@@brockautry8680 I heard "Superjudge" first so maybe that's why it's the most important one to me?
Glad to see Dave back in fighting shape! So glad for new music from the Magnet!
Best band ever! Love Monster Magnet, baby!🤘🔝

We will miss Jim, one of the best bassist players I`ve ever listened. But Wyndorf rules on bass too and the song rocks just like MM knows!
Monster Magnet guided me to a more noble path in life.

c dave rock..........gald ya'll still rock...been down from 1992...still one of my all time fav...thx guys
They all look like I would expect such a banger song to come from. Fucking love this band.

Dave's the man! This sounds like The Stooges on acid...

Man if we could get this in the Doctor Strange movie...
The best part of this video is "BILL SABBATH!"
Maybe the drummer just misses Bill Ward from the current BS line-up... ;-)
Costantino Andruzzi
I doubt this will end up in the "DR. STRANGE" film, but it'd be a way cooler soundtrack if it did.

Best album since Powertrip
'BILL SABBATH' =] epic shirt! Kudos from Caracas.
I love this song & video.
This video has a Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii feel. Cool!
So good to have Monster Magnet back in true form!
It's good to see Dave and co. back in fighting form. I was getting worried there a few years ago. Great song!!
Cd (MONSTER MAGNET Last Patrol) in my bookcase, vid in my favs. Thanx!
I have yet to find a band that plays purer rock and roll.

Monster Magnet is back! New album and new tour! Yeaaaah, that's it!
Я готова слушать это снова и снова:)))
This is sweet. Looks like the video had lots of Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii's influence.
Hey Magnets! Welcome to Finland again!
Damn this video is psychedelic! For a second there, I thought we were in the '60s now. Awesome! Acid rock is making a comeback.
Only a drummer can wear a shirt that says 'Bill Sabbath". It's a cool shirt! Makes me wish I was a drummer!
So 3 people from Atomic Bitchwax have now been in Monster magnet?? This sounds like old MM....Great!!
hilarious how Dave loses equilibrium at the end and he tries to stay still...lol
LEGENDS.
Luv Monster Magnet. Super freaky cool metalhead band!
