Insults, toxic behavior, and insulting others will get you blocked. Be respectful here on the channel. Phrases like" still waiting for x band/ song" will get deleted. "When are you doing x album" will get deleted. React to x band will not get responded to. " Yes I know I sound like Phil Anselmo, and I look like Rob Halford. :)

Always a pleasure for me when you enjoy a playlist I put together. I know I usually tell some sort of story, but this time it was more about just “giving back” to you and the subscribers that introduced me to these bands. I wanted to let everyone know that these artists really stuck with me upon first listen, and some touched me even deeper on an emotional level. Which leads me to the hidden theme on this list...
Madder Mortem’s “If I Could” is very important to me. Lyrically is could have come straight from my heart, so the connection I felt when I heard it was very personal. I originally had it as the second track on the list, but at the last minute I moved it closer to the middle to have it “protected” by the more darker and aggressive tracks. One of the lines in the song is “broken hearts are fragile”, so in a sense it’s the heart of the playlist.
One of my favorite parts of that song is the heavy bridge section after the spoken word. That melodic tapping phrase suddenly turns dark and dissonant while maintaining the same phrasing, and to me it represents the wild emotional mood swings of someone who trusted another and was wronged in some way. I love that song, and in fact that entire album is amazing.
I chose the Destroyers of All track as a direct follow up to the dark and somber mood of the Cellar Darling track. I wanted something that was plodding and aggressive to close it out. One track being “Death” and the other “The Dead Valley” was pure coincidence.
