Never trust anyone with your children never ever , especially a stranger or a person you just meet.
I never let my children out of my sight when they were kids , no matter where I went my eyes were always on them , and I wasn't the type of mother you wanted to cross .
This is exactly why you don't invite strangers into your home , you can barely trust people you know .

I totally agree but what saved Debra Brown was that she was actually in and out of psycho wards and had a low IQ since she was a child that labeled her as having an intellectual development disorder. That is the only reason they did not give her the death penalty as well and it wasn't until years later that she actually understood what she did was wrong and how she was committing cries with a monster like Alton Coleman. But I am glad they put her in prison instead of some mental institution, where she would have more freedom and can be evaluated every so many years and be eligible to be released back in the free world.

Sometimes things could be missing from your life the out come gold tongued bastard. She and her daughter trusted him by now. He never made them feel uncomfortable. I would have said Hell No because she was a girl. But shit happens. I know terrible things happened to me and my child one year after exposing who he really was mistakenly, I left him immediately but it left stuff that I have to live the rest of my life with. It took me two years to get that bastard sentence. And I had to do this myself because law said no evidence. I I sweet talked that demon right into a 5 to 10 years and 8 to ten years sentence. He served 5 yrs 7mos and couldn't come back to my town. He's dead.. and I did not do it. But I did kill this beast over and over in my mind. This shitbis forever y'all. Try some empathy with mom. Trust is not a bad word. It's what others do with your trust that turns the situation into a life or death without the innocent even knowing . My heart goes out to all his victims and family

No way on this planet would I let my daughter or son leave with someone, rather I know them or not. I just do not trust people freely like that because most children are harmed by someone they know or family. If he had a present then he can either walk to get it on his own or give it another time. But there's no way my child would go with you, no matter how much he pressed to let her. The excessive begging and pressuring for the child to go alone would have made me super suspicious to what his intentions might be. And I would have ended whatever friendship or relationship right there, I would also make sure my child knew never to trust this guy in case he came back another day.

I was always so crazy worried about these girls, that I love dearly. She went on to marry that man and now she's been married to him for over a year and strangely she doesn't leave the children alone with him anymore, even preferring them to be out in the city on their own in the middle of the night while she's at a "reunion".
A good friend of mine is a divorced mama and her two girls only met the new man in her life after 6 months of dating, when she was sure that it was serious between them. And they met at a playground, it took another while before she would bring him home, and they were together for over a year before he was alone with her girls. Not because she didn't trust him, but because she's a mama first and foremost and she didn't want her children to be with someone they would have to loose if it didn't work out, so she wanted to be really rational and sure about it. my children are never in a location that I don't know

@cheri collier. I grew up in the seventies and eighties and we were out playing most of the day without adult supervision. However, we stayed together in large groups and knew we shouldn’t wander off alone. Plus in the U.K. people knew there were evil people around. Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, the Moors Murderers, we’re well known.
I suppose most of us were safe because there weren’t safer recruitment practices then. Peadophiles were allowed to work in children’s homes, scouts and guides and churches, so sadly they had access to children.
