Your issue with your speakers is due to the stock lexus speakers being an actual component unit which is why the rear plug is a 4 prong black/red (lows) the other two are wired to your highs (tweeters) I know for a fact because I bought 2 way 6x9's for my 05 and didn't get the full range, talked to a stereo installer and you have to bypass the STOCK AMP to get the full range for those type of speakers you've installed "OR" as I did I purchased an ACTUAL COMPONENET SET to get the full range. So my 6x9 woofer went into the stock location, and the tweeter I installed into my rear doors.... if all you do is hook one set or the other off that plug you'll either get lows, or highs..... this was frustrating for me considering I took the trouble to research this 2 years ago and got alot of false information about the rears on these cars.
@@modelotime3608 the component SETS THE WAY TO GO, IT'S AWESOME.... I bought the 6x9 Infinity KAPPA series set (NOT THAT YOU need to do the same)... and the 6x9's sound like SUBS.... USE the BLACK AN red wire to THE CROSS-OVER and you get HIGHS (to the tweeters) an LOWS (to the 6x9 mids) to the speaker system.. you'll be hella happy with that set up. You "WON'T NEED ANYTHING MORE."
@@andi.sxe10 it's very simple trust me. ALL you need from the CARS WIRING HARNESS is the BLACK AN RED WIRES (DISREGARD the other 2). Mount the 6x9's in the STOCK LOCATION (I NEEDED A mounting adapter for the speakers to fit em correctly). Secondly: I mounted the "TWEETERS" in the carpeted pieces on the wall that sit above the 6x9 speaker cover. Use the component speaker CROSS-OVER to wire the speakers up, it'll SPLIT THE FREQUENCY for the HIGHS an LOWS "FROM THE RED AN BLACK" (POWER/GROUND). THAT'S IT. After that's done your system will F*N AWESOME, mine sounds like I have subs in the trunk. ALSO MAKE SURE you have the WIRING UNIT that KEEPS the STOCK AMP FUNCTIONING "with an AFTERMARKET DECK".
@@robsnizzle7 can i put the aftermarket tweeters to the wire after the plug for the oem tweeters too, or must i cut the wire before the white plug and use the red/ black one that comes from the car?
Dam bro you got the Manuel 😍 these cars are a pain in the ass with the sound system as it has a amp and all this extra crap. I really need to swap out these speakers in the back as well
The issue with the tweeters is due to the 4 prong plug, either. Y pass the factory amp (running wires directly from your deck), or buy a component set and utilize the 4 wires. If you dont one set or the other off that connector will only operate either highs or low, (black/red are highs), the other 2 are for your high range (tweeters).
@@GloomyTTV I bypassed the amp too, and ready to put the new speakers in, did you still cut the wire going into the speaekrs on the factory wires? and just use the terminal wires?

it’s possible to add more then 2 tweeters if you’d like ! i got 4 & i also did 4 6.5 in front & back instead of the 6x9
Yes of course wiring would depend of amp

Oh no, I have the same rears and I was going to put them in. So the tweeters on the 6x9 won't work? :(
Correct they wont work unless you wire up a new harness or modify it.

Lol yes sur
Which wires are positive and negative going to the tweeter?? Is the blue positive?
Also, did you bypass the factory amp? If not is that why the tweeters aren't working?
I put in a new head unit but kept the factory harness so i belive the factory amp is still active

I have a whining noise from read kicker speakers every time I accelerate? I have a good ground and all. What can be the issue?

Can you not just remove the covers instead of the whole back and seats etc?
