How strong will zoro become? I personally believe zoro is not only going to surpass people like Mihawk and Shanks. But also the sword God ryuma himself.

I think that, as a rule of thumb, Zoro is pretty much always one major power-up behind or one arc behind Luffy when it comes to battle-strength. As in, I genuinely believe that Zoro could almost always defeat or have a close fight with the previous arc's villain and Luffy from the previous arc. He's always a step behind his captain, but never too far.

Like some people say, zoro is a Shonen Mc stuck in the wrong Manga. Based on portrayal, feats, and his goal, is very likely eos zoro will be the closest person alive to eos luffy in terms of strength, basically what ryuma was in his own Manga. About ashura, I think is a special ability of the sandai kitetsu that somehow allows zoro's will to take a physical form. I do think every person that has a kitetsu (maybe ghandi gorosei has the shodai) can use something similar but instead of ashura it could be Indra If it's the nidai. I think the reason zoo does not use it too often could be that is simply impractical to use in specific situations (like cutting king in mid air). Just like how zoro only uses the "gorila" arms in specific situations too

At best I think eos coby will be 1st commander, but I don't see him being superior to sanji, who I believe will be at Admiral tier eos. Coby has insane potential though, so maybe in 4 to 7 years from the current timeline he will reach admirals. But not so soon.
Great video, keep spreading the good word brother 💯 Zoro's perception haki also is very underrated. It helped him through almost all his battles, Mr 1, Pica etc and allowed him to track King who's speed mode is underrated.
Zoro could stand toe to toe with an emperor at this point. Being able to tank hits from 2 yonko and being able to scar kaido confirms this for me. Fought with 2 yonko then took out a first commander.
No he's beating no emperor of your talking about a 1v1 with no assist from other people then no he's losing to all emperors that ever existed and he didn't "tank" that combo attack in attempting to stop he broke every bone in his body and had ppl questioning if he was even alive

Current Zoro is already Surpassed Oden in strength with Ashura alone which was NOT Advanced Coq Haki. He now has Advanced Coq Haki which Oden DID NOT. I've always said this and I've never seen anyone talk about this one thing. Luffy has a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit and Zoro has consistently endured shown to tank attacks that would've killed Luffy. The main example is the nothing happened incident at Thriller Bark. Luffy gets a buff from eating a DF, but eating a Zoan gives you an even bigger physical buff, then add on top of that it's Mythical Zoan and he gets basically a 3x multiplier, and Zoro still took all of Luffys damage plus his own and didn't pass out. That shits fucking insane.
In regards to Zoro being compared by Oda with both Luffy and Sanji: When he gets compared to Luffy, it's their aura, willpower and oftentimes just outright power being compared. When the rivalry with Sanji is brought up, it's their bickering personalities and shared status of Luffy's most dependable allies.
A feat that gets always overlooked is Zoro doing actual damage to Kuma in thriller bark. Think he might have even passed Luffy there for a minute. Especially since later on in sabaody they all struggle against a pacifista which I assume is weaker than Kuma.
in thriller bark he did indeed surpassed luffy . I remember at the time people saying crazy sh*t like luffy is faster and can third gear zoro. My responses were well kaku was as fast as luffy yet zoro was able to follow all his movements. In terms of raw power zoro's at the times far passed luffy a clearly example was how he deflected Oz punch like nothing ( which was comparable to luffy gear 3 giant punch) and proceded to launch an attack that forced Oz to dodge!

In most anime the MC and his closest character pursue same dream and side character's achievement s shadowed by MC but in Zoro case he aimed for top but in diff. field than Luffy . On rooftop no one expect Zoro to be there becuase he is 2nd in command , there only should be captains but Zoro was there and completely outdone captains except Luffy on rooftop. So when Luffy do something he is compared to Law,KId but when Zoro do something he is going out of the line , I mean people can't compare Zoro with Killer or Beppo there

After Luffy and Zoro unlocked conq haki, they got some good hits in and then one got knocked out shortly after (Luffy) and the other couldn’t get Kaido to get on his knees and was teleported away (Zoro), Yamato then took over and kept fighting by herself with no assist or help until Luffy fully recovered and ate, she fought Kaido for a longer period of time, and she has better durability and better conq haki control than Zoro, all of that and you say she showed nothing lmao.

IMO I think Yamato and Zoro are actually equals. From what Kaido and Yamato said during their fight. The only real reason Yamato was able to last so long was because she knew the techniques and was using an opposing element to also cancel out Kaido's abilities. Even though she was getting hits on Kaido, she said herself she was doing nowhere near the same amount of damage that the Kaido was.
And the fact she’s a mythical zoan which gives her high levels of durability. She could survive for a long time fighting him but couldn’t really hurt him. Zoro is basically the opposite of that before even learning adv conquerors haki
It does seem like in a way Zoro does have the voice of all things as we seen back in Alabasta, so there’s a chance that if Zoro mastered the art of using observation haki and his voice of all things technique than he may improve greatly upon his use of Enma and Ashura
One thing, zoro only knows emission stage of ryou currently. I heard you saying that he had the second and third stage which I don't believe. Otherwise why was he so surprised when he saw Luffy used the internal destruction? Even the highlights they use are different.
The way I see it is zoro has the barrier and so does Yamato reason being on the king fight we know zoro used the barrier to push back king when he was trying to take zoros swords away but luffy is beyond that lvl but all that’s needed for adv coc is the flowing of the barrier

There isn't anything to indicate zoro had better mastery of haki than Luffy because Luffy was capable of all 3 types of haki and had already learned advanced obersavtion. Zoro turn his blades black is the same as Luffy using armament on his fist up until wano. Where the focus is more on emission and internal destruction. Again Enma helped zoro with the emission side and unlock Conquerors haki. While Luffy went on to learn advanced moves of all 3 types of haki. I still don't either has peak haki. @@daryussamuel4657 no turning a weapon black is due to being able to flow the haki into other things ‘ryuo’ and it’s implied that Zoro used that ability as early as mr1 fight as he needed it to cut steel which Hygoro says knowing ryuo allows one to do. But yes I believe Zoro hasn’t got internal destruction but he has had mastery over haki flow/ryuo before luffy and it wasn’t something that enma gave him , all enma forced him to do was better control his haki flow to prevent it forcing it out otherwise he would have ended up like other swordsman(dead) because he wouldn’t have been able to stop the haki drain due to it being an ability he’s unfamiliar with (haki flow) and therefore he’d be vulnerable and not really a good swordman since ryuo seems like common knowledge to wano samurai since that’s how they pour haki onto their blades. But instead he was prised since he could indeed control the excessive flow enma demanded and regain control after first using the blade
The way I see it is zoro specializes in the color of arms it’s safe to say the he knows how it works and how to use it also realize that zoro never really trains on screen as much so he picks things up quicker then luffy I believe he has it and just doesn’t use it because he does need too

Zoro mastered advanced conquerers. He even makes his swords not touch when King tries to take his swords away. Secondly Zoro's offensive abilities are more dangerous than Luffy's & Yamato. He made two Yonkos shook before he even had King Of Hell techniques.

Great video fam. I thought you were gonna overrate Zoro like certain other RUclipsrs, but this seemed like an unbiased analysis. I also think that narratively, Law and Kid are above Zoro as well, since they’re constantly being portrayed as Luffy’s only ‘equals’. So based off of that and other semantics I think Zoro for now is below their level as well. One Zoro learns to control his Ashura, then I would consider him on par with the admirals perhaps.
Bruh it’s zoro who is more equal to luffy than kid and law. It was always been like that even in wano. Just because they are captains doesn’t mean they have to be stronger than zoro. Cuz zoro already slapped captains like hawkins, appoo. And if you read one piece manga then you should know how oda portrays zoro and luffy as equals. First luffy got ryuo training, zoro got enma training. Luffy got adv coc, zoro also got adv coc. Luffy almost died, zoro almost died. Luffy got power up after almost death, zoro also most likely got a power up not sure cuz something creepy happened with zoro and I am sure oda did it just for nothing. Even after the fight zoro and luffy woke up at the same time and asked for their favourite food the same way in the same panel. Also by feats zoro showed that he is more powerful than kid and law. Zoros flying dragon blaze made bigmom worried even tho luffys gear 4 kong gun and kong rifle plus laws gamma knife and kids attacks damaged previously. So this attack from zoro was more powerful than all those. And then zoro counters dragin kaidos dragon twister with his and cut kaido and bigmom law kid kaido everyone was shocked even tho they saw flying dragon blaze which was more powerful than law kid luffys strong attacks. Then he blocks the strongest attack we saw till then even tho that was for few seconds but none of them could have done it as kid said you saved us means if it wasn’t for zoro they would have died which even killer addressed prior to that. Later on law was shocked and amazed that zoro was able to fight even tho he had 30 broken bones in his body. So law is saying that even he can't fight with those injuries. This puts zoros durability above law. Then he uses ashura with 30 broken bones in his body and almost exhausted and gives kaido a permanent scar. And that was the strongest attack that hit kaido till then even stronger than luffys gear 4 kong gatling which was his strongest attack at that time. As luffy said all his attacks were too shallow but zoros attacks wasn’t as it gave kaido a permanent scar. So zoro was already stronger than luffy gear 4. And zoro didn’t unlocked adv coc haki at that time which many believes to be the case while it wasn’t. It was just regular coc. And then zoro gets adv coc haki that gives a far greater boost than gear 4. As luffys gear 4 kong gatling didn’t do anything to dragon kaido but adv coc haki fatigued luffy with no named attack with out even stretching his arm a normal punch did way more damage to way stronger and durable hybrid kaido. And zoro got that level of boost if not higher. As coc haki can't be trained to be stronger, it gets stronger as the user gets stronger. As zoro was already stronger than gear 4 luffy so after getting adv coc haki he should be stronger than gear 4 luffy adv coc haki too. But as luffy got stronger while fighting kaido so he is equal to zoro now even tho zoro also got stronger fighting king. I will put zoro and gear 4 adv coc haki luffy at the same luffy. Luffy only edges with gear 5. And kid and law are nowhere near gear 4 luffy level. They didn’t even defeat a nerfed bigmom. I doubt they are even stronger than yamato let alone zoro.
They are portrayed as equals in search for the One Piece, not in power. Law has always been portrayed as beneath Luffy is power. That's why law literally needed Luffy to defeat Doffy for him. That's why Luffy was 1v1 against the stronger Yonkō and Kidd and Tora-ō were 2v1 against the weaker. That "portrayal" argument is very weak and baseless because in matters of strength, Luffy has always been x4 ahead of Law and Kidd. And if you were being 100% honest, BM in that fight was written terribly, she didn't use aCoC, just her DF. And she had to be caught by ass pull moments like her thinking she had won, moving to rejoin Kaido on the rooftop and getting attacked from behind by Law; or her getting distracted by Law to allow Kidd to use his Assign ability. You HAVE to admit this is what happened. And still they just threw her out of the ring, not a conclusive defeat. They were pushed to the limits of their abilities with the aid of shitty plot devices, just to throw BM out the ring with Bombs conveniently below them. Without those bombs, BM would have come back up and that's a fact!! Luffy was going toe to toe, haki to haki with Kaido who basically used every weapon in his arsenal against Luffy. I'm still convinced Mihawk has instructed Zoro on using his demon eye to defeat truly powerful swordsmen(which Zoro hasnt met any top tier(top 10) swordsmen yet, and keeps it closed to supress his killer intent, and to draw out the power when it really matters. (maybe agaisnt Mihawk himself?)
Most underrated Zoro feat: Zoro is the only character shown so far in the series to knock people out with the Conqueror's Haki infused on his weapons as opposed to a wave of Haki from a look or a clash like normal. Wild.
Sometimes Zoro's strength hangs in uncertainty. He's strong enough to lift a building but he does so only at certain times...he could use more consistency.
Man swordsmen are so dangerous, even though his adv conq isn't as powerful as someone like luffy his attacks are comparable because he's using a sword while luffy is using his fists

Zoro as of the end of Wano is first commander level with single shot attacks that can one shot commanders and scar Kaido, which would probably severely damage anyone who’s not named Big Mom Zoro and King was a high to extreme dif fight. Zoro one shotting King doesn’t mean he’s inherently far superior to him as Zoro did the same thing against Mr.1 and Kaku etc So Zoro’s best AP feats can one shot Commanders and superficially injure but not damage Hybrid Kaido. Which is consistent with his other stats in terms of normal AP, durability, speed etc being relative to or somewhat below King
Luffy is stronger overall because he is versatile, can fly, future sight, speed, tank, damage while Zoro is less versatile but has very high attack damage that can one shot you. It took Zoro 3 powerful attack on King who is an absolute Tank to end him, it may have took Luffy 4 or 5 Strong attack to end King.

I argue Zoro is around ~half an arc behind Luffy. His feats on the roof top are better than any character pre ACoC luffy & he unlocked it later on. I’d argue with Ashura he is around geared ACoC luffy but G5 is the gap now

Bro no offence but you are downplaying zoro at this point. Zoro sgowed better feats than gear 4 luffy in the roof top. As bigmom and kaido didn’t even notice luffys gear 4 kong gun but zoro's flying dragon blaze made bigmom worried. So his flying dragon blaze > luffy gear 4 kong gun. And ashura isn’t explained. And there wasn’t a single time it was stated that zoro can only use it once or it drains haki drastically. May be it does but also may be it doesn’t. We saw him doing that in his tough conditions when he is at his limit. But that doesn’t mean he can't do it when he is fresh. As zoro states it is his best ability so he can do it when ever he wants. And zoro didn’t use adv coc haki with ashura. That was just ashura and zoro unlocked the basic coc haki. As there wasn’t any black lightning which is the symbol of adv coc. And also in a guide book the basic state is when you do it unconsciously. So it also suggests he only unlocked the basic form then. Later on against king he unlocked the adv form. So zoro's ashura with 30 broken bones and almost completely exhausted gave kaido a permanent scar. And luffys strongest attack at that time was too shallow as luffy stated. So zoro nerfed ashura > gear 4 luffy. And then luffy gets adv coc. And as we know coc can't be trained to be stronger. It grows stronger with the user. So if 2 people has adv coc haki and one of them is stronger than the other so it doesn’t matter if the other one uses longer than him, the stronger ones coc will be stronger. You clearly don't know how to read. Anyone who truly interpret what Oda is showing and is not attached to headcannon rules will understand that: 1 - Enma is a nerf. 2 - Asura is an attack not a transformation like Gears or Diable Jambe. Enma is doing nothing but forcing Zoro to release more haki than he WANTS. That said Enma is only tiring Zoro not giving him any power up. And there is only base Zoro. There is no Asura Zoro. Zoro has problem using Enma. He never showed problem using any other swords. Point to Shusui that he felt heavier but no big deal using it right when he got it and fought Oars. Zoro is ATLEAST on pair with Luffy when he is not ahead of Luffy. Right now Luffy stated that he reach his peak which means he can't get any stronger while Zoro doesn't have a hold back like that.
He always seems one arc behind Luffy, I’m pretty sure at this point he would take out Kat if he figures out how to deal with his future sight. I would definitely put him above Yamato as she stalled out Kaido but he made Kaido dodge and bleed from Ashura. I’m pretty sure he’s going to learn how to constantly use conquerors haki as that might be the key to getting a black blade.

Zoro in my opinion is on par with Gear 4 Luffy with Conqueror Coating, Luffy is winning but He's around the ball Park in my opinion but he's definitely leagues above Mr Magnetic and Fan Favorite Law

If you switched Kidd with Zoro they probably still would have been able to take out Big Mom but Zoro wasn't put in that situation. Zoro done a lot more than merely scare Kaido, aside from Luffy, he had the most impressive offensive and defensive feats. He blocked a combined attack from Big Mom and Kaido but not only did he do that, he then went on two wound Kaido with an attack that was strong enough to scar him. Literally the only person other than Oden we know of that has managed to do so. Furthermore the main reason Kaido and Big Mom could go on for so long is due to the fact that they're fairly matched in what they're capable of and both have insane stamina and durability. The same way Aokiji and Akainu did.

I honestly think Zoro could challenge Kizaru if he wants to. We don't know how fast Kizaru is compared to King and Zoro was reacting to King's attacks. But I definitely believe it was either Rayleigh or Garp that first showed us advanced Conquerers haki.
@@D.Strawhat Actually Oda showed basic Armament haki and advanced armament with Rayleigh, so it could actually be possible that he used another old generation character like Garp to show advanced Conquerers haki, it would explain why Marco wasn't able to heal the damage that Garp's punch did, or Marco can heal that kind of damage too and decided to just bandage it.
I like how you say maybe even kaido like he wasn't on par with his hybrid form to an extent in his base form and even seemed to be his near equal in asura. Shanks and mihawk are so underrated, like they have for sure surpassed kaido and big mom, I'd say they are on par with prime rodger and prime whitebeard at this point
Pre timeskip, Zoro is definitely relative to Luffy, but I think the gap between them widens the more abilities Luffy unlocks. Also gotta point out how Luffy defeated Rob Lucci, who was practically twice as strong as Kaku. But Post-Timeskip, Zoro definitely closes the gap. Vs Pica, I would say he only got serious when using his black blades, and Pica wasn't exactly an easy opponent, but not someone challenging enough to force Zoro to use every trick in his book (he still used a secret technique and ended it with 3-thousand worlds as well). Luffy was still quite a bit stronger than Zoro thanks to Gear 4th, though. I don't see how Zoro could fight that during Dressrosa. And during Onigashima, during the 5v2, I think Zoro was once again relative to Luffy, but again, Luffy gained 2 power-ups during this fight (Zoro got one fighting King), so I'd say Luffy is solidly above him. Zoro can probably go up and take down any of the Yonko right-hands right now, but with extreme difficulty. He definitely can not handle an Admiral right now, but he'd put up a solid fight.
I don’t think you mentioned that Zoro was still heavily damaged and exhausted when fighting King. The Mink drug allowed him to continue fighting, but unless I’m misremembering, it didn’t restore him completely. If anything that makes the fight more impressive.
i'd say "nothing happened" proves that Zoros endurance is greater (at that time) compared to Luffy. As he was still standing concious from taking all of Luffy's damage AND his own. I'd still put Zoro over Yamato for sure though. Yamato is a beast but she seems more defensive. As she could only stall Kaido imo. If we got a fresh Zoro right now vs Kaido i think he could do better than yamato did. Honestly it's hard to powerscale Zoro and Luffy just because Zoro is so deadly and Luffy these days can seemingly just keep on going. I kind of think that Luffy and Zoro are equal Luffy base form/ gear 2-4 are comparable to Zoro. And Asura i think would even out against Luffys gear 5. it depends heavily on if Zoro can freely use his conquers coating or not, but hopefully we will see if that is the case soon.
zoro vs yamato would be mostly one sided, zoro can probably land some good hits but yamato has better speed feats, and better defensive feats, in zoros base form he was struggling with kings attacks, which means yamatos attacks would be devastating, zoro loses because of defense

I would say that king of hell zoro is equal to or at least comparable to a gear 4 luffy as even though he didn't knock kaido to the ground, he arguably landed the the strongest attack on kaido pre gear 5 luffy. I personally think a healthy rooftop ashura would have probably knocked jaido to the ground. I also think that king of hell zoro is much stronger than rooftop ashura as he his advanced conquers is more potent and just stronger overall. He also had a better grasp of enma aswell allowing him to better use his advanced conquers. I think current zoro amd yamato are basically at the same level and they are both on par with, if not stronger than some of the admirals.
Currently zoro is around Luffy with his second and third gears. You can't really think that zoro is doing to kaido what Luffy after returning did. Luffy split the skies with Kaido upon is return, instantly signifying that his advance CoC has now officially reach the level of yonko. Zoro still has to master his CoC and not have a time limit.

However, I do agree with you that he needs to work on his stamina drain and general conquers usage (learning to use advance forms without enma). @@daryussamuel4657 I get your points but I think mihawk definitely conquers. Firstly, he fought shanks numerous times in the past who known for his insane conquers. I know he wasn't as powerful as he is now but he definitely had conquers back then. Secondly, we would oda give people like doflamingo and boa Hancock conquers and not mihawk. Even though, he is the main warlord and clearly above all of them. He also gave zoro conquers and having advanced conquers give you an insane power boost, so for zoro to unlock it and mihawk not having it doesn't really make sense. Thirdly, mihawk is known for holding back his true power and he didn't really try at marineford, so he wouldn't really use it. Oda also didn't plan haki as throughly back then but that's just a nitpick. I also think he wouldn't teach zoro about advanced conquers as I think he's more of an instructor/advisor and would probably just teach zoro the basics. (If mihawk were to teach him most powerful haki then why not futuresight if we're going by your logic). My last point does have a lot of headcannon but I think to turn a sword black you need conquers to bend/forge the sword to suit your will.
I just gotta say you were a little off when it came to your assessment of zoro and his haki, swordsmen learn ryuo in order to flow their haki into their blades so zoro actually did know ryuo well before wano it’s just more he’d never seen it used in that application, ie. luffys fists/iron sandals
All of the strawhats joined the crew for a reason. Zoro just wants to be the strongest swordsman ever. He's probably the only one I can see parting ways with Luffy after his goal is met. Perhaps they'll have a lifelong rivalry like Roger and Whitebeard
Zoro=Luffy. It has to be. Wouldn't make sense for him to be weaker than Luffy even by a small margin. If Luffy loses, then that means the entire crew loses because no one is strong enough. And that's not the case. Every crew where the captain is the strongest ultimately loses. Only crews where the captain and vice captain are equal in strength survive and stand above the rest.
Zoro’s lack of challenging fights post time skip put him well behind Luffy but definitely still the second strongest on the crew. It’s unfortunate but Oda had to do it to focus on Luffy getting to where he is now. There just wasn’t room for the both of them to have power-ups neck and neck, especially since Zoro is not the MC. Just imagine if Zoro was challenged like Luffy in every fight PTS, Zoro would probably already be the world’s s greatest swordsman by this point. Zoro has the potential to be on the same level as Luffy by EOS. I definitely see the 2 of them having a Shanks-Mihawk or Roger-Whitebeard power-balance (not a rivalry but true brothers in arms), it’s gonna be awhile but I can’t wait to see it .
Zoro will never reach Roger/Whitebeard level, he will be one of the strongest first commanders if not the strongest ever but thats about it. It was established right from the beginning of One Piece that Zoro will not be Luffy's equal since every main villian Luffy faced bodied Zoro, including Buggy. BB, Law, Kidd and maybe Katakuri will be Luffy's rivals all the way to the end, not Zoro.

Zoro absolutely beats Yamato, that’s not a question. Zoro biggest weaknesses is comes down to not controlling CoC and not having a Black Blade. We are at a point where he defeats the Right hands and can fight against Admirals and Yonkos and put up a good fight. Once he masters these two things, he’s going to be Dark King/ Shanks level of power.
Fact n° 1: Zoro is using Ryou since Alabasta, and Mihawk trained Zoro specifically in the use of Ryou. To turn your blades black, you need to coat it in armament haki. Fact n°2: Ashura is a mode than Zoro can summon on demand. It's false that he have no control over it or needs to be almost dead, he summons it against Kaku and keep fighting captains from the marines until they finally escapes.

Obviously Luffys gonna get all the strength power ups etc because he's the main character and that's how hes written. With that being said I never thought at any point of the series that Luffy was THAT much stronger than Zoro there were a few instances where I felt he could've taken down the main villain by himself. in terms of physical strength I think he's the strongest Straw hat & Had he received the amount of Haki training Luffy did I'd put them on equal terms. I forget which arc it was (could've been one of the few filler episodes) but Zoro gets brainwashed and goes on a bit of rampage and ends up fighting Luffy not seriously obviously, but he ends up beating Luffy and threw a giant Boulder on him and trapped him under it 😂 Now that his conquerors Haki is awaken I feel like after refining it and taming Enma the gap is gonna close even more and by the end of the series I'd be able to confidently say that if the two fought 10xs that Zoro would pull off 4 or maybe 5 victories they'd both get pushed to their very limits, but I feel this way about most of the big hitters and their second in commands someone has to be able to keep the captains in check.

I think that, as a rule of thumb, Zoro is pretty much always one major power-up behind or one arc behind Luffy when it comes to battle-strength.
As in, I genuinely believe that Zoro could almost always defeat or have a close fight with the previous arc's villain and Luffy from the previous arc.
He's always a step behind his captain, but never too far.

Based on portrayal, feats, and his goal, is very likely eos zoro will be the closest person alive to eos luffy in terms of strength, basically what ryuma was in his own Manga.
About ashura, I think is a special ability of the sandai kitetsu that somehow allows zoro's will to take a physical form. I do think every person that has a kitetsu (maybe ghandi gorosei has the shodai) can use something similar but instead of ashura it could be Indra If it's the nidai. I think the reason zoo does not use it too often could be that is simply impractical to use in specific situations (like cutting king in mid air). Just like how zoro only uses the "gorila" arms in specific situations too

Zoro's perception haki also is very underrated. It helped him through almost all his battles, Mr 1, Pica etc and allowed him to track King who's speed mode is underrated.

Current Zoro is already Surpassed Oden in strength with Ashura alone which was NOT Advanced Coq Haki. He now has Advanced Coq Haki which Oden DID NOT. I've always said this and I've never seen anyone talk about this one thing.
Luffy has a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit and Zoro has consistently endured shown to tank attacks that would've killed Luffy. The main example is the nothing happened incident at Thriller Bark.
Luffy gets a buff from eating a DF, but eating a Zoan gives you an even bigger physical buff, then add on top of that it's Mythical Zoan and he gets basically a 3x multiplier, and Zoro still took all of Luffys damage plus his own and didn't pass out. That shits fucking insane.

In regards to Zoro being compared by Oda with both Luffy and Sanji:
When he gets compared to Luffy, it's their aura, willpower and oftentimes just outright power being compared.
When the rivalry with Sanji is brought up, it's their bickering personalities and shared status of Luffy's most dependable allies.
A feat that gets always overlooked is Zoro doing actual damage to Kuma in thriller bark. Think he might have even passed Luffy there for a minute. Especially since later on in sabaody they all struggle against a pacifista which I assume is weaker than Kuma.
in thriller bark he did indeed surpassed luffy . I remember at the time people saying crazy sh*t like luffy is faster and can third gear zoro. My responses were well kaku was as fast as luffy yet zoro was able to follow all his movements. In terms of raw power zoro's at the times far passed luffy a clearly example was how he deflected Oz punch like nothing ( which was comparable to luffy gear 3 giant punch) and proceded to launch an attack that forced Oz to dodge!

In most anime the MC and his closest character pursue same dream and side character's achievement s shadowed by MC but in Zoro case he aimed for top but in diff. field than Luffy . On rooftop no one expect Zoro to be there becuase he is 2nd in command , there only should be captains but Zoro was there and completely outdone captains except Luffy on rooftop. So when Luffy do something he is compared to Law,KId but when Zoro do something he is going out of the line , I mean people can't compare Zoro with Killer or Beppo there

IMO I think Yamato and Zoro are actually equals. From what Kaido and Yamato said during their fight. The only real reason Yamato was able to last so long was because she knew the techniques and was using an opposing element to also cancel out Kaido's abilities. Even though she was getting hits on Kaido, she said herself she was doing nowhere near the same amount of damage that the Kaido was.

It does seem like in a way Zoro does have the voice of all things as we seen back in Alabasta, so there’s a chance that if Zoro mastered the art of using observation haki and his voice of all things technique than he may improve greatly upon his use of Enma and Ashura
One thing, zoro only knows emission stage of ryou currently. I heard you saying that he had the second and third stage which I don't believe. Otherwise why was he so surprised when he saw Luffy used the internal destruction? Even the highlights they use are different.
The way I see it is zoro has the barrier and so does Yamato reason being on the king fight we know zoro used the barrier to push back king when he was trying to take zoros swords away but luffy is beyond that lvl but all that’s needed for adv coc is the flowing of the barrier

There isn't anything to indicate zoro had better mastery of haki than Luffy because Luffy was capable of all 3 types of haki and had already learned advanced obersavtion. Zoro turn his blades black is the same as Luffy using armament on his fist up until wano.
Where the focus is more on emission and internal destruction. Again Enma helped zoro with the emission side and unlock Conquerors haki.
While Luffy went on to learn advanced moves of all 3 types of haki.
I still don't either has peak haki.

@@daryussamuel4657 no turning a weapon black is due to being able to flow the haki into other things ‘ryuo’ and it’s implied that Zoro used that ability as early as mr1 fight as he needed it to cut steel which Hygoro says knowing ryuo allows one to do. But yes I believe Zoro hasn’t got internal destruction but he has had mastery over haki flow/ryuo before luffy and it wasn’t something that enma gave him , all enma forced him to do was better control his haki flow to prevent it forcing it out otherwise he would have ended up like other swordsman(dead) because he wouldn’t have been able to stop the haki drain due to it being an ability he’s unfamiliar with (haki flow) and therefore he’d be vulnerable and not really a good swordman since ryuo seems like common knowledge to wano samurai since that’s how they pour haki onto their blades. But instead he was prised since he could indeed control the excessive flow enma demanded and regain control after first using the blade

I also think that narratively, Law and Kid are above Zoro as well, since they’re constantly being portrayed as Luffy’s only ‘equals’. First luffy got ryuo training, zoro got enma training. Luffy got adv coc, zoro also got adv coc. Luffy almost died, zoro almost died. Luffy got power up after almost death, zoro also most likely got a power up not sure cuz something creepy happened with zoro and I am sure oda did it just for nothing. Even after the fight zoro and luffy woke up at the same time and asked for their favourite food the same way in the same panel. Also by feats zoro showed that he is more powerful than kid and law. Zoros flying dragon blaze made bigmom worried even tho luffys gear 4 kong gun and kong rifle plus laws gamma knife and kids attacks damaged previously. So this attack from zoro was more powerful than all those. And then zoro counters dragin kaidos dragon twister with his and cut kaido and bigmom law kid kaido everyone was shocked even tho they saw flying dragon blaze which was more powerful than law kid luffys strong attacks. Then he blocks the strongest attack we saw till then even tho that was for few seconds but none of them could have done it as kid said you saved us means if it wasn’t for zoro they would have died which even killer addressed prior to that. Later on law was shocked and amazed that zoro was able to fight even tho he had 30 broken bones in his body. So law is saying that even he can't fight with those injuries. This puts zoros durability above law. Then he uses ashura with 30 broken bones in his body and almost exhausted and gives kaido a permanent scar. And that was the strongest attack that hit kaido till then even stronger than luffys gear 4 kong gatling which was his strongest attack at that time. As luffy said all his attacks were too shallow but zoros attacks wasn’t as it gave kaido a permanent scar. So zoro was already stronger than luffy gear 4. And zoro didn’t unlocked adv coc haki at that time which many believes to be the case while it wasn’t. It was just regular coc. And then zoro gets adv coc haki that gives a far greater boost than gear 4. As luffys gear 4 kong gatling didn’t do anything to dragon kaido but adv coc haki fatigued luffy with no named attack with out even stretching his arm a normal punch did way more damage to way stronger and durable hybrid kaido. And zoro got that level of boost if not higher. As coc haki can't be trained to be stronger, it gets stronger as the user gets stronger. As zoro was already stronger than gear 4 luffy so after getting adv coc haki he should be stronger than gear 4 luffy adv coc haki too. But as luffy got stronger while fighting kaido so he is equal to zoro now even tho zoro also got stronger fighting king. I will put zoro and gear 4 adv coc haki luffy at the same luffy. Luffy only edges with gear 5. And kid and law are nowhere near gear 4 luffy level. They didn’t even defeat a nerfed bigmom. I doubt they are even stronger than yamato let alone zoro.

They are portrayed as equals in search for the One Piece, not in power. Law has always been portrayed as beneath Luffy is power. That's why law literally needed Luffy to defeat Doffy for him. That's why Luffy was 1v1 against the stronger Yonkō and Kidd and Tora-ō were 2v1 against the weaker. That "portrayal" argument is very weak and baseless because in matters of strength, Luffy has always been x4 ahead of Law and Kidd. And if you were being 100% honest, BM in that fight was written terribly, she didn't use aCoC, just her DF. And she had to be caught by ass pull moments like her thinking she had won, moving to rejoin Kaido on the rooftop and getting attacked from behind by Law; or her getting distracted by Law to allow Kidd to use his Assign ability. Luffy is stronger overall because he is versatile, can fly, future sight, speed, tank, damage while Zoro is less versatile but has very high attack damage that can one shot you. It took Zoro 3 powerful attack on King who is an absolute Tank to end him, it may have took Luffy 4 or 5 Strong attack to end King.

As bigmom and kaido didn’t even notice luffys gear 4 kong gun but zoro's flying dragon blaze made bigmom worried. So his flying dragon blaze > luffy gear 4 kong gun. And ashura isn’t explained. And there wasn’t a single time it was stated that zoro can only use it once or it drains haki drastically. May be it does but also may be it doesn’t. We saw him doing that in his tough conditions when he is at his limit. But that doesn’t mean he can't do it when he is fresh. As zoro states it is his best ability so he can do it when ever he wants. And zoro didn’t use adv coc haki with ashura. That was just ashura and zoro unlocked the basic coc haki. As there wasn’t any black lightning which is the symbol of adv coc. And also in a guide book the basic state is when you do it unconsciously. So it also suggests he only unlocked the basic form then. Later on against king he unlocked the adv form. So zoro's ashura with 30 broken bones and almost completely exhausted gave kaido a permanent scar. And luffys strongest attack at that time was too shallow as luffy stated. So zoro nerfed ashura > gear 4 luffy. And then luffy gets adv coc. And as we know coc can't be trained to be stronger. It grows stronger with the user. You clearly don't know how to read.
Anyone who truly interpret what Oda is showing and is not attached to headcannon rules will understand that:
1 - Enma is a nerf.
2 - Asura is an attack not a transformation like Gears or Diable Jambe.
Enma is doing nothing but forcing Zoro to release more haki than he WANTS. That said Enma is only tiring Zoro not giving him any power up.
And there is only base Zoro. There is no Asura Zoro.
Zoro has problem using Enma. He never showed problem using any other swords. Point to Shusui that he felt heavier but no big deal using it right when he got it and fought Oars.
Zoro is ATLEAST on pair with Luffy when he is not ahead of Luffy.
Right now Luffy stated that he reach his peak which means he can't get any stronger while Zoro doesn't have a hold back like that.

Furthermore the main reason Kaido and Big Mom could go on for so long is due to the fact that they're fairly matched in what they're capable of and both have insane stamina and durability. The same way Aokiji and Akainu did.

@@D.Strawhat Actually Oda showed basic Armament haki and advanced armament with Rayleigh, so it could actually be possible that he used another old generation character like Garp to show advanced Conquerers haki, it would explain why Marco wasn't able to heal the damage that Garp's punch did, or Marco can heal that kind of damage too and decided to just bandage it.

Pre timeskip, Zoro is definitely relative to Luffy, but I think the gap between them widens the more abilities Luffy unlocks. Also gotta point out how Luffy defeated Rob Lucci, who was practically twice as strong as Kaku.
But Post-Timeskip, Zoro definitely closes the gap. Vs Pica, I would say he only got serious when using his black blades, and Pica wasn't exactly an easy opponent, but not someone challenging enough to force Zoro to use every trick in his book (he still used a secret technique and ended it with 3-thousand worlds as well). Luffy was still quite a bit stronger than Zoro thanks to Gear 4th, though. I don't see how Zoro could fight that during Dressrosa.
And during Onigashima, during the 5v2, I think Zoro was once again relative to Luffy, but again, Luffy gained 2 power-ups during this fight (Zoro got one fighting King), so I'd say Luffy is solidly above him.
Zoro can probably go up and take down any of the Yonko right-hands right now, but with extreme difficulty. He definitely can not handle an Admiral right now, but he'd put up a solid fight.
Judging by portrayal he probably can't defeat Beckmann yet.
I don’t think you mentioned that Zoro was still heavily damaged and exhausted when fighting King. The Mink drug allowed him to continue fighting, but unless I’m misremembering, it didn’t restore him completely. If anything that makes the fight more impressive.

i'd say "nothing happened" proves that Zoros endurance is greater (at that time) compared to Luffy. As he was still standing concious from taking all of Luffy's damage AND his own.
I'd still put Zoro over Yamato for sure though. Yamato is a beast but she seems more defensive. As she could only stall Kaido imo. If we got a fresh Zoro right now vs Kaido i think he could do better than yamato did.

Luffy base form/ gear 2-4 are comparable to Zoro. And Asura i think would even out against Luffys gear 5. it depends heavily on if Zoro can freely use his conquers coating or not, but hopefully we will see if that is the case soon.
zoro vs yamato would be mostly one sided, zoro can probably land some good hits but yamato has better speed feats, and better defensive feats, in zoros base form he was struggling with kings attacks, which means yamatos attacks would be devastating, zoro loses because of defense

@@D.Strawhat Well right now we don't know how long he can use it. As his ashura is just an attack, it's not like a luffy gear. Ashura was simply his conquers coated attack. But now he has learned the trick to enma because he realised that enma wanted conquers haki and not armament.
And it won't matter anyhow. Yamato can have God tier defenses but it's not better than Kaido and Kaido got cut by a heavily weakened Zoro with broken bones who didn't even know that ashura was conquers.

Nah, making your blade a black blade is a greater achievement than conquers coating. Very few ppl in one piece has they're blade permanently black.
I would say that king of hell zoro is equal to or at least comparable to a gear 4 luffy as even though he didn't knock kaido to the ground, he arguably landed the the strongest attack on kaido pre gear 5 luffy. I personally think a healthy rooftop ashura would have probably knocked jaido to the ground.
I also think that king of hell zoro is much stronger than rooftop ashura as he his advanced conquers is more potent and just stronger overall. He also had a better grasp of enma aswell allowing him to better use his advanced conquers.
I think current zoro amd yamato are basically at the same level and they are both on par with, if not stronger than some of the admirals.
Currently zoro is around Luffy with his second and third gears. You can't really think that zoro is doing to kaido what Luffy after returning did. Luffy split the skies with Kaido upon is return, instantly signifying that his advance CoC has now officially reach the level of yonko.
Zoro still has to master his CoC and not have a time limit.

However, I do agree with you that he needs to work on his stamina drain and general conquers usage (learning to use advance forms without enma). He'll probably get a sky splitting moment when facing mihawk as most of his past and future oppents don't even have conquers.

I always find it funny that zoro never recalls any instances of mihawk using CoC in his training especially when he unlocked it and was unaware of it at first. Then subsequently after that when he is talking to Enma, there is no mention of mihawk. In marine ford nothing against zoro and the others, nothing.

And that would become even more of a landslide when he first unlocks CoC in 1010. Upon return in 1026 lol Luffy wouldn't even have to go gear 4th to defeat him. Gear second with all of his advance versions of haki would destroy king very easily.
@@daryussamuel4657 I get your points but I think mihawk definitely conquers. Firstly, he fought shanks numerous times in the past who known for his insane conquers. I know he wasn't as powerful as he is now but he definitely had conquers back then.
Secondly, we would oda give people like doflamingo and boa Hancock conquers and not mihawk. Even though, he is the main warlord and clearly above all of them. He also gave zoro conquers and having advanced conquers give you an insane power boost, so for zoro to unlock it and mihawk not having it doesn't really make sense.
Thirdly, mihawk is known for holding back his true power and he didn't really try at marineford, so he wouldn't really use it. Oda also didn't plan haki as throughly back then but that's just a nitpick. I also think he wouldn't teach zoro about advanced conquers as I think he's more of an instructor/advisor and would probably just teach zoro the basics. (If mihawk were to teach him most powerful haki then why not futuresight if we're going by your logic).
My last point does have a lot of headcannon but I think to turn a sword black you need conquers to bend/forge the sword to suit your will.
I just gotta say you were a little off when it came to your assessment of zoro and his haki, swordsmen learn ryuo in order to flow their haki into their blades so zoro actually did know ryuo well before wano it’s just more he’d never seen it used in that application, ie. luffys fists/iron sandals

Zoro=Luffy. It has to be. Wouldn't make sense for him to be weaker than Luffy even by a small margin. If Luffy loses, then that means the entire crew loses because no one is strong enough. And that's not the case. Every crew where the captain is the strongest ultimately loses. Only crews where the captain and vice captain are equal in strength survive and stand above the rest.

zoro is also potrayed with sanji even more than luffy. Zoro and Sanji are very close in strength and luffy is considerably stronger than both.

Zoro’s lack of challenging fights post time skip put him well behind Luffy but definitely still the second strongest on the crew. It’s unfortunate but Oda had to do it to focus on Luffy getting to where he is now. There just wasn’t room for the both of them to have power-ups neck and neck, especially since Zoro is not the MC. Just imagine if Zoro was challenged like Luffy in every fight PTS, Zoro would probably already be the world’s s greatest swordsman by this point. Zoro has the potential to be on the same level as Luffy by EOS. I definitely see the 2 of them having a Shanks-Mihawk or Roger-Whitebeard power-balance (not a rivalry but true brothers in arms), it’s gonna be awhile but I can’t wait to see it .
Zoro will never reach Roger/Whitebeard level, he will be one of the strongest first commanders if not the strongest ever but thats about it. It was established right from the beginning of One Piece that Zoro will not be Luffy's equal since every main villian Luffy faced bodied Zoro, including Buggy. BB, Law, Kidd and maybe Katakuri will be Luffy's rivals all the way to the end, not Zoro.

Zoro absolutely beats Yamato, that’s not a question. Zoro biggest weaknesses is comes down to not controlling CoC and not having a Black Blade. We are at a point where he defeats the Right hands and can fight against Admirals and Yonkos and put up a good fight.
Once he masters these two things, he’s going to be Dark King/ Shanks level of power.
Fact n° 1: Zoro is using Ryou since Alabasta, and Mihawk trained Zoro specifically in the use of Ryou.
To turn your blades black, you need to coat it in armament haki.
Fact n°2: Ashura is a mode than Zoro can summon on demand.
It's false that he have no control over it or needs to be almost dead, he summons it against Kaku and keep fighting captains from the marines until they finally escapes.

I'd really like it if zoro actually gets a custom sword made for himself. I was expecting nidai kitetsu was going to replace sandai kitetsu but that didn't happen.
I personally feel like current zoro and even more so sanji have fallen behind luffy "considerably" (cause of luffy's major advancements through wano and now post wano luffy having a new form and all forms of haki mastered as well as advanced conqs) and they get disrespected too much. People don't understand that sanji and even more zoro are top tier "commanders" now and also jumped incredibly in power. End of wano - Post wano they have been completely overshadowed.
Nope Gear 5 is still weak to slash damage. Ryou alone is enough for Zoro to use against Luffy to send him into extreme diff

And by default Mihawk is one the list because Mihawk>Zoro and my guess is that Mihawk doesn’t need to EVER bring out Supreme Kings Coating until he faces a worthy enough opponent.
Zoro has One AND half advanced hakis, and assuming Luffy has more of a affinity for the king's haki, obviously Zoro without mastering that haki isn't going to come close to mastering it either. And I'm talking about Luffy's base.

With that being said I never thought at any point of the series that Luffy was THAT much stronger than Zoro there were a few instances where I felt he could've taken down the main villain by himself.
in terms of physical strength I think he's the strongest Straw hat & Had he received the amount of Haki training Luffy did I'd put them on equal terms. I forget which arc it was (could've been one of the few filler episodes) but Zoro gets brainwashed and goes on a bit of rampage and ends up fighting Luffy not seriously obviously, but he ends up beating Luffy and threw a giant Boulder on him and trapped him under it 😂
Now that his conquerors Haki is awaken I feel like after refining it and taming Enma the gap is gonna close even more and by the end of the series I'd be able to confidently say that if the two fought 10xs that Zoro would pull off 4 or maybe 5 victories they'd both get pushed to their very limits, but I feel this way about most of the big hitters and their second in commands someone has to be able to keep the captains in check.
I think the fact that he was nearly dead when he used Ashura did play a major part in that clash, I don’t think he’s nearly as inexperienced at it as he was two years ago (in manga time)
