I am in the City almost every day and I always check out the classic spots before I head back to the island.(Alameda) I got to see some of this stuff go down. Some highlights, meeting Elissa, we share a birthday and she was really sweet to my awkward ass. She was the first "famous" person I had ever approached, but I had 3 beers in me and I couldnt help myself. I kept things brief. While watching a session involving most of the dudes from the video at Embarcadero, Kaders board shot out from underneath him about 100 feet from where I was standing and hit me in the ankle. I was draining a slurpee, bottoms up and did not see it. Upon retrieving his board he said "sorry sir" I was coming from a meeting with an attorney and was dressed like a complete square. As he was walking away I said "congrats on turning pro kid" he turned around and with a big smile said 'thanks man" And finally, last week I had 20 minutes to kill before my train, I strolled over to the bricks and ran into one Chico Brenes who was having a solo sesh at a rarely empty, world renown Embarcadero. I said "CHIICOOO" and to my surprise he looked at me and immediately made his way towards me laughing and hand extended well before we dapped. He could not have been more cool, I always wanted to run into him, just to see him skate and I thought if I did I would probably leave him be as I have always, until Elissa left celebrities, no matter level of fame, alone. But I am glad I bothered Chico, he treated me like we had known each other for years, even though I had a little bit of Smitten chocolate ice cream on my hands. I again kept it brief and sat down some distance away to observe him do his thing. I only had a few minutes to watch and thought " man, I hope he does a nollie back heel" and as soon as the the thought finished forming he busted one followed by another in rapid succession, the latter being more proper than the first. Although the first was proper as fuck. I look forward to my next encounter with the Legend, next time I pray I have my board with so I can get a nollie heel tip.

More than any other, I feel like Bill's filming style allows the viewer to feel like they're doing the trick in the way that a skater only sees their feet and the obstacle. Also, the intensity of the close up on the trick is preceded by visual concentration suggested by the facial shots and followed by a sense of relief as they roll away and the camera angle accommodates them.
The filming is isn't a 'style' as such, it's just fucking god awful imo.
