Chargers CB Asante Samuel Jr. Could Surprise Everyone With A Pro Bowl Season in 2024

- Asante Samuel Jr. is frustrating at times because his talent is so obvious, yet it has never fully clicked for him heading into a contract year. Every year a surprise player breaks out, and under Jesse Minter, Samuel Jr. could be the latest Charger to take a leap in year four and even make a Pro Bowl. Dan and David get into their Buy or Sell show discussing the biggest Chargers storylines and overreactions, including if rookie Junior Colson will be the team's best rookie out of the gate. Do u guys anticipate us getting a cb FA before training camp so they can get familiar with the defense , or after training camp ends?

Asante was decent in Staleys complicated defensive scheme. I think he will be a lot more consistent under coach Minters guidance. Fully expect everyone on our defense to play better
I just want to see him become a better tackler to round out his game
I feel as if Staleys scheme was VERY complicated for DBs. They were often in the wrong places and didn’t understand their assignments
I like Asante but watch out for Deane Leonard! He's improved every season and this will be the year of Deane list!

Asante Samuel jr as well as Slater should be extended they are the kind of young talented players that I think you can Invest in now if you wait the price will go way up later.
Ladd McConkey can also play outside as can DJ Chark.Both are quicker than Josh Palmer.We already know Palmer gets hurt alot.

Sorry, I have my doubts. Asante is a risk-taker. He makes plays, flashy plays. Lots of them.
THEN he makes a BAD MISTAKE ..... LONG PI or long gain, long touchdown. SEVERAL times per game.
My opinion ... we DON'T HAVE a #1 corner ...... it's the biggest weakness on the team.
ANY TOP NFL RECEIVER will have an advantage against Asante.
He's too short on contested catches. He's a bad tackler after the catch, and defending the run.
Don't be fooled - he STARS EVERY YEAR in training camp - remember? In the real games, he gets BURNED too much.
Week 1 Raiders: I'm throwing to Davante 15 times, and running sweeps to Asante's side all day. Hope I'm wrong.
