Best game i have ever visited. And we never mention Ellerman, but he scored a lot for us PSV. Ofcourse we all remember Romario. We went crazy of joy!
PSV -FC Magdeburg (UEFA Cup 1978) was in mijn ogen de meest zinderende qua scoreverloop. Maar bij PSV - Steaua beklijven vooral de beauties van doelpunten van Romario en Ellerman. Ook kwalitatief van hoogstaand niveau.
this match was the end of a great team - Steaua 1986-1989 , champion of Europe in 1986 (2-0 with FC Barcelona) , semifinalist in 1988 and again finalist in 1989 (0-4 against AC Milan) , then this nightmare coming 1-5 with PSV , despite 1-0 victory in the second leg , then in december 1989 revolution in Romania ,communist Ceausescu executed , Romania became free and then Steaua stars goes to play in West ,almost all the players of this team ...Hagi , Lacatus, Dan Petrescu, Ilie Dumitrescu etc ...was the end of a beautiful era for romanian club teams...Steaua and Dinamo or Universitatea Craiova (the best 3 teams in Romania in the 80's) ,but also the start of a beautiful national team - Romania 1990-2000 , 10 years of great achievements , no.5 in the FIFA ranking (december 1995) ,best place took ever by Romania in international football (national teams)
