Thomas would often out jump PFs on jump balls. The guy was a freak athlete. He also was a GREAT ball handler. He had fantastic basketball IQ. He had a fanatic work ethic. He absolutely loved clutch situations and excelled at them. There were players with better stats but at 6' 1" Isiah is my favorite player ever because he beat the best and played with great heart.
So the Pistons went into the Finals thinking they didn't have enough firepower to outscore the Lakers and decided their 3 guards should do it for them.......even though they had Mark Aguirre and some big men who could produce.
No, not at all. The Pistons just played their game and imposed their will on the Lakers. The Pistons played stellar defense and beautiful half court offense and ground down the Lakers just like they did with the Cavs, Hawks, Knicks, Celtics and Bulls. No new strategy. Just excellence at every facet of the game.
Here in Detroit it was a forgone conclusion that whole yr 89 They really should been selling shirts said "back to back!! That yr..then in 1990 shirts would of been sayin "3peat Pistions!!!"..91 ones should been sayin "Goin for 4!!!!" As sports broadcaster argued on wheather or not they could of beat 87showtime Lakers if they only would of gottin past Boston that year..yep
I know, I know. I wanted to make note of Thomas' two small interactions with A.C. Green and Tony Campbell but blanked on how to say it concisely. I'll give it another shot, haha.
Thomas had the smoothest looking jump shot…looked amazing as he ascended, full extension on follow through and the splashing through the net

Damn Isiah made AC Green run 😂😂
Jay Money 😂😂😂 💯💯 Zeke was G’d up!
Isiah was intolerant and had a temper. Maybe because he was undersized and took a lot of shots from bigger guys like Karl Malone and Bill Cartwright.

I only just recently noticed the center court and other lines on the court were RED at the Forum in the 80's and early 90's.
Cooper and Mahorn fought in this game. That would've been something to include.
I found it more fitting to include it in this mix instead. ruclips.net/video/k_GyAOS0Fhs/видео.html
Wonder what happens with the finals mvp if Isiah didn’t drop 14 game 4 even like a flat 20
Tony Campbell used to be a Piston.
1988-1989;
Detroit -6
Los Angeles -0
Overall, only Magic performed higher than Isiah as a pg in the playoffs and finals. And head-to-head, that's debatable.

The 3 with thumbs down are getting Smoked, and probably can't tie their own shoes !!!
I couldn't watch this Championship series. Once Scott and Magic went down everyone knew the outcome was a foregone conclusion.
Should of had 88, too.

Two skirmishes??? lol

+Ryan Van Dusen Lol you could have said exactly what you just said... two interactions.... lol
True, seemed overly broad and not sure if it came to mind when I first titled. There's some days where things just aren't clicking.
+Ryan Van Dusen True, true...
it was a sweep cnt believe it
I don't know if anyone's matched him, but this Finals sweep made Pat Riley the only coach to be swept twice in the NBA Finals ('83 Sixers).
I hate the Lakers. I hate Isaiah Thomas even more more
Isiah
