Q. What's the point of doing painful reflexology? A. Eastern reflexology tends to be a harder pressure compared to western reflexology. The concept is different. Eastern reflexology: Pain is good. No pain, no gain Western reflexology: Pain isn't good. Massage should be a relaxing one Personally I can't say which is better. Eastern one gets to the core of the reflex points deeper while western one gives more atmosphere of accepting what is. I respect the clients' preference. The reason why I do eastern style more is its easier adjustment of the strength; it can be harder and softer easily. And eastern style is less tiring for my hands.
Sometimes messages have to be painful to fully get of rid of the pain. Specially theyre muscle knots, in this case seems to be nerve and bone pain which are connected. Honestly I've had that before and it's that feel good pain.
While I don't have a high tolerant for pain, it is rather enjoyable seeing that kind of eastern method used here. Wow - the patient can really handle those stronger massage from the stick. Good job! I want more of these ITAI videos - they can be so addicting watching! His feet is happy red!! Based on his facial expression - his right foot seemed more in pain than the left.
Lots of people in the massage profession are still not using tools enough. My grandfather passed away recently, and you can really see the difference not using tools for 20 years of massage therapy did to his dominant hand. His thumb almost rests at a 30 degree angle to his arm.
I'm impresses how (in the beginning of the video at least) the patient is experiencing a lot of pain, but still his hands are relaxed and not Squeezing the armrests of the chair.
Years ago I had a very relaxing massage while on a 4 hours lay over flight in Seoul Korea. It was so relaxing that I fell asleep in the airport lounge and almost missed my connecting flight.
back when i was boy i used to run bare foot while playing with my friends even if the terain gets rocky and filled with broken twigs i would still jump and run through it just to reach them. I wonder what pressure i can take with these foot of mine :D
I had this done several years ago, after a week of not being able to breathe out of my nose. Opened the sinus right up for the next two days where I was able to finally get some quality sleep. Sinus closed back up after that, but it wasn't two more days until I recovered and went back to normal.
I don't think I can do this..I will get instant pain...I tried walking on Peeble stone the other day...I can't last 3 step huhuhuhu....I used to be able to walk and run on those stuff..

There were a few times that it looked like he was holding his breath when it was hurting. It looks painfully satisfying, best I can describe it as. I need this. I've got some plantar fasciitis problems, and I read that reflexology is good for relieving some of the pain.
Thank you for watching and enjoying my video :) I haven't had many plantar fasciitis clients in person but I get many comments and questions on plantar fasciitis. I had one friend who had a session with me, he used to have plantar fasciitis: ruclips.net/video/DPsKxslHRIM/видео.html He enjoyed reflexology :)
I decide the pressure depending on the model's experience and preference after talking before a session starts. As he admired Kansoku-hou (Kansoku method, one of the painful reflexology methods), I decided to give a harder pressure on him and it seemed he enjoyed it... haha...
@Ben Daulton They are volunteers, not hired. I don't do hard pressure unless they want... Some think harder pressure is better for health and they enjoy enduring...
Thanks. I have almost the same problems as he does, i have been working on my feet for while. still have a lot of pain. does using the tools do a better job?
I can't say it is better but it is more like a personal preference and such... Personally I feel a painful one is more direct to the body, while a softer one is more to the subtle body.
Basically the pressure I am applying here is too much and that's why it hurts so much. For the 2nd question, I think the feet are located far from the heart and they tend to accumulate waste matter which result in being sensitive? Not sure about this one. ashitsuboyutaka.weebly.com/faq.html This is a FAQ page on my web site, hope this helps you! :)

Even though it can be painful I bet they felt way better afterwards. I could imagine this helps release a lot of tension.

Yutaka, I have a question. If a patient has their spleen surgically removed, will the spleen reflex point on the foot have any pain or discomfort?
Yes, most likely.

How does painful reflexology affects our body? Is it better than those less painful reflexology?
I can't say it is better but it is more like a personal preference and such... Personally I feel a painful one is more direct to the body, while a softer one is more to the subtle body.
So why does this hurt so much? Why is the foot so sensitive to deep massage?
Basically the pressure I am applying here is too much and that's why it hurts so much. The feet has alot of nerves that's why when you press into certain areas it hurts
use knuckles,no wooden tools.
It'll damage tissue and nerve.
Very nice!!!
