When I got into planners i was always excited about "plan with me videos" and then after watching i was just disappointed because people just posted stickers in their planner. I actually want to see HOW you organize a busy life. Truly, i care about how one manages household, pick up lines and doctors appointment while still working on goals. Give me that: down to Earth functional planning.
Agreed! I really hate that all the "planning for beginner" videos basically show you how to arrange stickers to make the layouts pretty. I'm all for papercrafts but then people assume that the need all those stickers to plan when you just need a pen and paper!
I've seen people bragging about their 300+ happy planner sticker books. Those babies are $20 a pop. I look at their artfully laid-out collection and think "That's six grand sitting there. That's freaking INSANE." Even if they got most of them on sale...okay, let's say you somehow lucked all the way out and got EVERY one of them for half off (which would never happen)...that's still three grand! It's STILL insane!
the worst part of that, to me, is that the stickers will stop being sticky/won't peel out of the books correctly anymore before they can possibly use all of them! People have different financial situations and priorities but having stuff you can't possibly use before it goes bad seems like such a waste and a shame!
Carrie, a lot of people havent paid that much for their sticker collections. I have a lot of HP sticker books & the most I paid for them was $5.00. I was able to purchase a lot on clearance from Michael's for $1.00-$2.00. There's no need to buy new. HP puts out new books but in a couple of months they're on clearance everywhere. Ex-the Rongrong books were on sale for $4.00 at Michael's.
When I “want” something, I put it on my wish list for next month. By then, the need to buy that item has gone away or I move it to next month’s wish list. Works for me.
As someone who also has hoarding tendencies, I so appreciate your anti-hauls. They always knock sense into me 😂 I'm refraining from buying a new planner period (except for one for work). I always try to juggle multiples and I end up overwhelmed. A planner + bujo are what work best for me right now and I need to be reminded of that fact 🙃🙃🙃
I found a planner for $1 on clearance at half price books and I'm taking the pages out and using them in my happy planner because basically the pages were set up like BUJO pages already, and I lack the discipline to make myself trackers every week. So now I have my weekly planner spread and a smaller one sided weekly fake BUJO insert to supplement my organization :-)
I have "two" planners. One for my actual planning and the second which is more like a notes/personal journal. I didn't know about the BuJo world until stumbling across this channel and I think I may ditch the second planner when it's over for just a dot grid bullet journal
I’m a Jan-Dec planner, so I’m not itching to get anything new right now, but I would totally appreciate an anti-Happy Planner video in October! I fall for them every year then run back to bujo-only before February ends.
I watched this video twice, because this is more than just a anti haul it’s calling out the major issues in the planning community! Thank so much for sharing this, I’m currently decluttering because of this! THANK YOU 🙏
I love watching them too and not buying a single thing they use. I'm so picky about what I like anyway. But it's fun to watch other people show the stuff...then wonder where they store it all!
I have a love/hate relationship with sticker books. They are so pretty and inspiring but also fill me with anxiety when actually using them because I hesitate to use them because I just never feel like my planner is pretty enough to deserve the stickers
I feel exactly the same way. I have a metric ton of sticker books and I am paralyzed by the idea that my spread may not be perfect. So I stopped using my planners and my stickers. They just sit there staring at me, judging me. 🙄😂🤣 Such an epic waste of money.
I needed this video 3 days ago when I went on a shopping binge. I spend in cycles. Where I buy nothing for a few weeks and then make one purchase and spiral into a dozen purchases. I regret my purchases during a spiral. I struggle to find the balance between buying spending spirals and detrimental spending restriction.
I’d love to hear more about how you’re liking Notion. Also if you considered Roam, Obsidian and/or anything about “building a second brain,” if you’ve fallen down that rabbit hole.
It is so refreshing to hear this video, doesn't matter if I agree with everything or not!! I had a planning channel for about 4 years and my number were good. BUT over time I went into a deep depression with stress from keeping up with trends, fomo, and critical comments on my videos. I totally lost the love for planning. The past year I started from the bare basics!! I am now finding myself again and relearning what I love and works for me.
I saw the title of this video and knew I HAD TO watch it. Absolutely love it and grateful for this being out there. As someone who is anti-consumerism, I follow a strict rule that when I see something nice and shiny I really want, I have to ask myself whether I need it before buying it. It usually works. My backup plan is to add it to a list of things I want, then walk away from it until I have a solid reason why that item deserves a place in my life and me spending money on it. Thanks for the video!
I was in a car accident and just needed a notepad to write everything down. I opened a dot grid notebook in GoodNotes and it is working fantastically for me. Best of all, my notes are with me on my phone. 💜
I’m a Jan-Dec planner, and the main reason is so I can get everything I want during Black Friday sales. I watch so many review videos that my wishlist tends to whittle down once people actually use the products and give their real opinions. Ultimately, I’m cheap as hell and I refuse to pay full price for anything 🤣
You can't just mention notion and not have plans to do a video about it. Honestly, the moment you give me a notion tour or something like that, I will be fullfiled for life, my two favourite things combined, Cindy and notion 😍❤
Thank you for being a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the consumerism in the planner community. I used to want all the happy planner sticker books until I realized I have more stickers than I will ever use.
I’m a Happy Planner girl and I’m not buying a new planner until my current planners are completely used up. That means no new planners until January 2022.
We should become accountability partners. Also, now that I’ve had one through one complete cycle of the three releases of the year, it’s much easier for me to wait on stuff.
Same. I’m going to be waiting for the Michael’s 70% discount next year in April to buy more because I already have all the planners I need. For the missing months I’ll find the weeks that work from this year, re-date the months, and use those.
@@adorabell4253 the 18 month July 20 to Dec 21 are at 90 off right now IF You can still find any - I found one recently....That’s what makes it so hard to resist temptation! The academic ones are great too, but they have such a very very short turnaround time from the time they are released, to the time they sell out, to the time that they are marked down to 80% off for maybe like a day before they pull them off the shelves entirely. At least out here at Northern California
My biggest problem is finding used almost new or new bullet journals or leather bound journals for cheap then using my stamps to create my own journals for everything from art supply journals to color swatch journals & a stamped print of all my rubber stamps. I find them for so cheap then I stack them up knowing they will never be out of date since they are blank & now I have so many it's ridonkulous! I can never fill them! To top it off some of them are so beautiful I don't want to write in them...like what the hell is wrong with me? I also collect too many coloring books & too many colored pencils & alcohol markers. I'm bedridden disabled & do a lot of art because my hands are crippled & soon I won't be able to hold a pencil but I can never use all these supplies but I'm addicted when I see all these new colorbook & pencil & supply hauls I see more things I want & it never ends! I really want to stop but I just see the new things & I really want to try them to keep up with everyone.
You made very good points there! and yes please I'd love a video on how to not get bored of your planner! Consumerism is something that we really need to watch out for in the planner community
Every contracted school year (September to August), I put one item on my "No Buy" list. This year, I am not allowed to buy myself any clothes... and I am doing great! Next year, my "No Buy" item will be bullet journal supplies. I need to use the things I already own, and your anti-haul video will be a great reminder when I am feeling weak! Thank you!
“Fill blown skinny dip into the stationery world” I swear you made me laugh about a million times in this video, thank you Cindy, I really needed that 🤣
After my children left home, I switched from an academic year planner to yearly planner (Jan-Dec). This year I felt convicted to "use what I have" and "less is more," so you video is a timely reminder to stay the course and not fall victim to the hype.
You are spot on Cindy about the beautiful Simplified Planners that are useless if they don’t meet your planning needs! I’ve discovered the free downloadable backgrounds on their website. Then I can enjoy the pattern on my desktop or phone everyday - for free! (Until I get sick of it). Highly recommend!
I did a full sweep of a room that is just mine to house my hobby/craft/planner/whatever and like a move it made me realize how much I had & how many doubles as well because I couldn't find the first one. I found I was collecting more than using. I thought back to when I was very young as a kid & I grew up in a house with an artist mother, items were precious, paper & supplies were precious, not over abundance, they were housed in a special area & you asked permission to get those items out. I remember the excitement & being ready with a purpose to create and enjoy. I want that same feel as I think I enjoyed my items more when there is less but just enough of to not go searching and setting up to the point I find myself overwhelmed & losing interest. Oh and those damn pouches, LOL! Great video, good food for thought.
Thank you. Just...thank you. I really needed an anti-haul video. This year I’ve been kicking tail with financial goals and that isn’t possible if I give in to all the clever schemes to separate me from my money. It is definitely overwhelming when everything is financially out of reach and you are relatively new to the community. It almost feels excluding if you can’t get all the new things. I’m here for the ideas and to see people’s creativity and organization, but I have to wade through so much product lust to do that. As always, thanks for your honesty and humor.
I ordered some of the new Michael’s sticker books bc I was excited to see some of my favorite planner shops/artists have lines there, I feel like for every page I like in the book there is another one I’ll never use. I think next time I will skip the books and just support their etsy/Shopify stores directly and get exactly what I want.
I totally had this realization this month. Once I use the 7 stickers I like in the book, I get into a routine, and feel lost without that one sticker I like! I think finding an artist on Esty that I can buy a sheet of my favorite sticker instead.
This video is 💯 accurate! When I watch someone with a new planner .. makes me want to get that planner even though I know the one I’m using is working perfectly! I also agree with the PR sticker thing.. it’s annoying
Thank you! I only recently discovered you and you are a breath of fresh air. I have watched so many videos I have overwhelmed myself and just won't even write in my journal for fear of messing it up. I needed your words today and appreciate your frankness.
My super power is getting rid of shit - either my own or other people's - so my planner supplies stay relatively in check, but when I moved I had to admit the ugly truth: the one thing I hoard are containers. The only things in my outside storage closet was a Christmas tree and three huge rubbermaid bins of...more bins.
I'm a Passion Planner user. Their spring collection will be released next week with their academics, new journals (blank, lined, graph, dotted), and other things they haven't announced. I appreciate this timely video because the FOMO will not get me. I don't need anything extra right now. Thanks for the reminder, Cindy!
iptfan45 The sneak peeks of the colors they're releasing look so cute, but I know deep down I'm a Jan-Dec planner only. I don't bullet journal either. I don't need another tote or more stickers (that I don't use anyway). I just have to remind myself I like what I already have, and there's plenty of time to recalibrate for 2022.
Ali I am trying to decide about getting PP Daily vs EC daily duo. I don’t see times (need 7am-9pm). I have a PP mae(?) weekly for health & fitness journal.
Pp daily doesn’t have times. I track appointment times by writing them in. I appreciate the amount of space and sections of pp daily. Good luck making your decision. Pp has a Mother’s Day sale coming up in a few weeks.
you are literally my favorite RUclipsr lol the language I live for. Your channel literally makes my day. Im glad to see a woman go against the grain with being uncensored!! Love you!!
I love that you are standing by your principles! I also love your hair, it looks so beautiful! I am trying not to be used by influencers, because honestly really do not need more stuff either. I also lack impulse control, so I try to avoid haul videos now. So I find this video a breath of fresh air.
These are my most favorite videos from you! I am not getting a CRICUT! I had no idea about the recent drama, but I have been holding fast to my "no way will I do it" mantra... and this just gives me the extra strength to continue to hold strong!!
This season I'm going back to my roots - making my own inserts for A5/half letter. I love Cloth & Paper stuff but I only buy things from them that I can't make - like divider tabs. I can make pages. I can make vellums. I can foil me some acetate sheets. And it will be exactly what I want.
I have a rule when buying crafty supplies - I have to have 1 (significant) use for the item in question per dollar it costs. If it is still a maybe, I have to wait a minimum of 2 weeks to think it through before I click purchase...
I have found a planning style and system that works for me. It does not compete with what is out there on FB groups or instagram and I love that....less temptation. I enjoy the talented planners out there but feel no need to duplicate what they do.
Thank you for a smile this morning (ok...more of a snort and spitting out of my coffee!!) I stumbled across your video as I am doing extensive research about what planner will work best for me. The options are overwhelming and it is tempting to buy all of them after watching release and review videos. I appreciate your perspective and a reminder to spend wisely.
There are SO freaking many things I am not buying this year that I did last year.... daily planners, washi tape, deco sticker of any kind (that was a $300 a month habit), fancy pens, planner clips, sticker books, reusable sticker books, the list goes on and on. Your video made my morning. It was nice to hear that I am not the only one.... disillusioned (not sure that is the right word, but it is as close as I can get) with a lot of the planner world over the topness
I agree with you about digital planners. I purchased one from Etsy at the beginning of this year but never find myself actually using it. I just prefer a physical planner to keep track of school assignments. And I use bullet journaling for everything else. I just found your channel and I love your personality. You remind me of one of my fave professors from nursing school. ✨
I'm so over Happy Planner -- they started cheesing out on the paper, the sticker books have less stickers than they used to -- and this drives me nuts, they tend to have six of a kind of certain stickers in their books, and THERE ARE SEVEN DAYS IN A WEEK. Grrrr. I'm using up what I have and that's that.
So I'm not the only one who noticed the paper quality went down for this year's planners! Could have been a supply chain issue because of Covid, however I have a sinking feeling that we will see more changes now.
So I'm going to start this by saying I LOVE my Happy Planners, and I have a pretty big sticker book collection for someone who has only been creatively planning for a few years. But that being said, your videos have helped me tremendously with feelings of FOMO, and with breaking some bad habits. These days, I actually USE my planner supplies instead of hoarding them, and I always tell myself that I cannot get any new stickers unless I am using the ones that I already have. Hoarding them does not serve me. At all. Also, I am pretty selective these days about what I will and won't spend my money on. I ask myself a few questions during new release seasons. 1. Do I need it? Or do I just THINK I need it because people on my Instagram are using it and it's cute? 2. Do I love it? Not "Do I like it or think it's cute," but do I LOVE it, and think I will use it right away?" 3. "Does it fit with my planning style and/or current taste/preferences?" If the answer to any of these questions is no, I just don't buy it. I love planning and decorating, but I always remind myself that I don't need every accessory or sticker that comes with every release. They're stickers, not Pokemon. I don't in fact need to catch them all. :)
Thank you for your anti-haul / anti-consumerism videos. I feel like most youtubers / social media ppl like to show (off) their stationery collection and make me wanna get everything. Putting off the thought of getting a silhouette machine and a hobonichi - will stick to my bujo and my current stash of stationery instead
Exactly on the same page regarding EC. I know it’s not my place to judge people’s purchases, and I really don’t, but I’m also glad the entire planner community hasn’t forgotten. Cause sometimes I feel like they have.
This vendor helped me think of all the things I don’t need to add to my life. So, thank you for your straightforward approach and honestly. You are a breath of fresh air and I wish I could be as brave and honest with myself as you seem to be.🙏🏼🙏🏼 I am not buying anything planner related until it’s time for a January to December 2022 planner and then only one planner with monthly and weekly layout in a size large enough to write in and small enough to carry around will be purchased. I have stickers from years ago and find that I use them very infrequently to highlight important events/ tasks.
Brand new here. I'm just looking around at 2022 planners. You have some strong honest opinions with precious little gushing. Thank you! My personal favorite so far.
Oh I need more of your personality in my life. Not sure why I haven’t seen more of your videos! The way you are so honest and don’t filter your thoughts.. I love it. I curse like a sailor and feel I can’t relate to a lot of other channels. Plus almost every single planner channel heavily censors what they say or they are super reserved in opinions on different brands. So I’m here for this!
thank you for always giving us the videos we need to hear. I think we are all borderline hoarders of all things stationery. I agree with you on the bombardment of all the new things and the feeling that you might miss out if you don't order it immediately. thanks for keeping it real!
I would love videos about Notion and staying happy with your current planner. I'm not buying any MORE sticker books because it takes longer to find a sticker than to write or draw what I want (I had this silly idea they would be fun AND save me time). I tell myself that I can buy etsy stickers that are whole sheets of something I will want to use often, but I have spent so much time looking for the perfect ones that I've never actually bought any.
Hahaha! That sounds like me and Poodle stickers. So many in my Etsy favorites, but haven’t determined yet which one is the perfect one to actually pull the trigger on.
After paper planning for years I started digital planning and I love it. For me it is because I can buy an undated planner for 20 bucks and reuse it year after year. It is so portable and virtually clutter less. Like the Kindle it can sneak up on you and steal your heart so be warned. Hehe Love your channel.
You SAID IT about the wire binding. Thankfully I'm not the only one. I need to see 'work week' planners come into the planning world - the Sat/Sun areas in my work planner turn into my notes section, and I think there's a lot of people who would appreciate an option to just have more space for the work week. Also: you're totally right about the status symbol issue of sticker books and planners. I've also seen a reaction to it as well - how minimal can you be with your planner to show you aren't part of the 'crowd'. And then there's the 'neutral colors' crowd - that stuff is expensive!! Definitely a push-pull situation that hasn't benefited anyone.
First! I 100% agree with not letting the influencers and sales and all the bright lights and colors make you want to spend money. I feel this way in any purchase, though. My parents taught us that if "the time is limited" or "it might sale out if you wait" are the tactics used, then say farewell to whatever it is. I appreciate your input and perspective.
I love this video because you are speaking to me! Pouches, soft containers, things I keep seeing over and over, ‘oh my god, i must have this’. I need to rein it in!
Cindy- this video has really helped me to GTFO of FOMO. I have watched this video twice since to remind me to not get out of control! (Thank you, budget!) This video is a reminder for me to use what I have and to stop buying excess. I said GOODBYE to sticker books!
Thank you so much for this video. I do not have a lot of sticker books, but I have a ton of sticker packets. I am currently sorting and purging my craft room and spent two evenings going through my stickers and reorganizing them so I can actually USE THEM in my planner. I got on that bandwagon 2 years ago and went crazy overbuying stickers for my Happy Planner (which I used for a whopping 3 months).
Two things: I converted my office to my bedroom, which meant I had to go through my planner supplies. I still have 3 large under bed storage totes full that needs to be reckoned with and I feel so much guilt over all the money that was spent. Every time you talk about consumerism I feel more okay with not buying. I’ve been able to make lists of what I think I want and I revisit it a few times before I actually make a purchase now. It feels good! Also, Notion. Holy heck is it a rabbit hole that I tumbled into last week. I’m super excited about the possibility of using it with a bullet journal for real planner peace. Side note to that I’d love a vid of your notion setup!
You hit me in all the feels! Hate wire binding. Plus all these damn planner launches are hard to resist but they don’t work for my needs( talking to you Full Focus Planner). To say I am “planner confused” would sum it up, until I find the holy grail, I am staying with a bullet journal.
Thank you! Needed too hear this. The marketing was getting to me and I even just got a new 2021 planner in a different format when it was on ultra deep sale to try it out. I keep feeling (not thinking) "this new thing will fix all my problems" and it never does.
You are the greatest!!!!! I so needed to hear all of this! I have been selling a lot of planner merch since 2018. I pretty much left all that planner stuff in the past. I'm using a cheap $12 Target planner and I'm totally ok. No stickers, highlighters, washi, dividers, tabs, sticky notes, etc... I felt so overwhelmed and I wasn't even using the planner for what I needed! It became a chore and a bore! But new release time always makes me think... maybe I could use that or "need" that.. NO! just NO! Lol
Thank the algorithm gods this video came into my life. You are hilarious. The sticker book rant had me in tears. I'm a basic bujo girl but I'll use tiny stickers to mark my favorite activities. I have maybe a dozen sticker sheets and thought about buying a special organizer for them until I came to my senses.
Ugh, I love me a good canvas tote! Also please do the new old planner video. I've been in so many planners this month, lol. I just can't figure out my shit.
And D, you are in the middle of moving and that will be more stuff to pack. Sorry, the mom in me came out. Lol. I do love how you keep your bullet journals simple. I get so much anxiety about making things my own... I used to just have notebooks of doodles, lists, and calendars when I was younger. But now, it just seems daunting at times. I would also buy planner after planner, trying to find the right one. I would love a video on how to resist temptation on buying things. I'm trying to make it a habit now to actually use what I buy and not buy something cause it is cute. I hope you are doing well and feeling better!
I am with you Cindy!! I am loving the Bullet Journal only life. I have a few sticker shops that I buy functional stickers from so I can use them in my journal. I like some things to stand out.
Love this! Thank you for this video! I’m going to watch it every time I feel the urge to purchase something I want but really don’t need, and will likely regret! And I feel you regarding the move. My husband was relocated from Ottawa Ontario to Vancouver BC in Nov 2019, and it was a lot of work, but ended well. I hope your move does as well!!!
It's so refreshing to find a planner RUclipsr who isn't all sweetness and light and speaks truth as she sees it.
When I got into planners i was always excited about "plan with me videos" and then after watching i was just disappointed because people just posted stickers in their planner. I actually want to see HOW you organize a busy life. Truly, i care about how one manages household, pick up lines and doctors appointment while still working on goals. Give me that: down to Earth functional planning.

it happens in so many hobby communities... the massive collections!
I have hardly made it into the video but wanted to say I just love how you stress that you're not telling people what to or not to buy!
That was me not so long ago. I’ve since sold 99% of it and I’m a lot happier.
the worst part of that, to me, is that the stickers will stop being sticky/won't peel out of the books correctly anymore before they can possibly use all of them! People have different financial situations and priorities but having stuff you can't possibly use before it goes bad seems like such a waste and a shame!
Carrie, a lot of people havent paid that much for their sticker collections. I have a lot of HP sticker books & the most I paid for them was $5.00. Ex-the Rongrong books were on sale for $4.00 at Michael's.
“They pineappled the shit out of there planners!” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭👏 you need your own stand up comedy show!!!
"Inadequate sticker book collection" is my favorite first world problem 😂
When I “want” something, I put it on my wish list for next month. By then, the need to buy that item has gone away or I move it to next month’s wish list. Works for me.
I do that with Sephora lol
I do the same 😅
I use the same strategy and it works for me!
This is a great strategy.
I will have to start implementing this strategy. Thanks for sharing!
“A ho for the books” couldn’t stop laughing 🤣
🤣🤣
I’m a hoe for stickers. Sticker books, etc. Etsy stickers in particular are my supreme weakness!!
Omg yes! Organizing sticker books can suck my asshole too hahahahaha #dead
So funny - lots of other great quotes from her in the video, too!
As someone who also has hoarding tendencies, I so appreciate your anti-hauls. They always knock sense into me 😂
I'm refraining from buying a new planner period (except for one for work).
“Cindi, you dirty dirty birdie” had me laughing so hard my man came to check on me 😂🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🥰
I'm so glad to see you bringing up about still not feeling comfortable supporting Erin Condren - I'm right there with you.
Wait, I'm new to all this...what happened last year with Erin Condren?
I'm the cheapest. I like watching stationary videos so that I DONT end up buying all the things.
I love watching them too and not buying a single thing they use. I'm so picky about what I like anyway. But it's fun to watch other people show the stuff...then wonder where they store it all!
Sounds about right!
Good for you! You should be proud of yourself.
Me either because where i’m from minimum wage is around 350 dollars, i make around 500 and i am not spending 100 of those on a notebook 😂😂😂
Nice!!
LOL... "this is my opinion so don't come at me if you're a ho for the books" - this makes my heart smile!
I died 😂
I have a love/hate relationship with sticker books. They are so pretty and inspiring but also fill me with anxiety when actually using them because I hesitate to use them because I just never feel like my planner is pretty enough to deserve the stickers
I feel exactly the same way. I have a metric ton of sticker books and I am paralyzed by the idea that my spread may not be perfect. So I stopped using my planners and my stickers. They just sit there staring at me, judging me. 🙄😂🤣 Such an epic waste of money.
2:36 YES, please do that sort of video. It would be nice to have that appreciation for what works for you.
i will add it to my list!
I will second this!
I was in a car accident and just needed a notepad to write everything down. I opened a dot grid notebook in GoodNotes and it is working fantastically for me. Best of all, my notes are with me on my phone. 💜
i hope you are recovering okay!

Yes. It’s been 2 weeks and I’m doing MUCH better. Thank you!
I’m a Jan-Dec planner, and the main reason is so I can get everything I want during Black Friday sales. I watch so many review videos that my wishlist tends to whittle down once people actually use the products and give their real opinions. Ultimately, I’m cheap as hell and I refuse to pay full price for anything 🤣
and that's a great way to do it ;-)
You can't just mention notion and not have plans to do a video about it.
Honestly, the moment you give me a notion tour or something like that, I will be fullfiled for life, my two favourite things combined, Cindy and notion 😍❤
Second that!!
Same here!! I’m Using up the planner I bought!!
Not the video I wanted but the video I needed.
Thank you!
i love this idea
“Fill blown skinny dip into the stationery world” I swear you made me laugh about a million times in this video, thank you Cindy, I really needed that 🤣
After my children left home, I switched from an academic year planner to yearly planner (Jan-Dec). This year I felt convicted to "use what I have" and "less is more," so you video is a timely reminder to stay the course and not fall victim to the hype.
It’s so refreshing to hear you talk. I thought I was the only planner person who felt this way. Love your videos!
You are my people! So glad I found you! I agree! What do I agree with? EVERYTHING! I’m going back and looking at all your videos.
Welcome aboard! ;-)
As always, thanks for your honesty and humor.
that excluding feeling is something i HATE. at the heart of it you don't need any of this shit, but it is easy to feel otherwise sometimes
I also agree with the PR sticker thing.. it’s annoying
freaking fomo suuuuuucks
The way you don't sugar coat things really helps me even though I'm not a planner person. Thank you!!
Hope you don't eventually give in to temptation. You can do it!
iptfan45 The sneak peeks of the colors they're releasing look so cute, but I know deep down I'm a Jan-Dec planner only. I don't bullet journal either. I don't need another tote or more stickers (that I don't use anyway). I just have to remind myself I like what I already have, and there's plenty of time to recalibrate for 2022.
I love my planning system (plum paper daily) and changed covers to make it feel new. Even though it’s always open, it still did the trick!
Love you!!
I also used to have a ton of Washi Tape but now I'm down to like 4-5 rolls and that's more than enough for me since I barely use them.
I had only one thing on my holiday gift wish list, the Cricut Joy. I've used it once to play around with since then. Ugh.
@@karenrwalker I feel that a like is inappropriate! But, thanks for sharing and bolstering my resolve.
This season I'm going back to my roots - making my own inserts for A5/half letter. I love Cloth & Paper stuff but I only buy things from them that I can't make - like divider tabs. I can make pages. I can make vellums. I can foil me some acetate sheets. And it will be exactly what I want.
You look beautiful today. The color of your T-shirt is great.
Thank you so much!
Agreed!
And your hair too!
I totally agree great color shirt & hairstyle!
Yes please show your Notion! I’m playing around with the idea of getting Notion but not sure about the learning curve. Thank you, Cindy!
I have a rule when buying crafty supplies - I have to have 1 (significant) use for the item in question per dollar it costs. If it is still a maybe, I have to wait a minimum of 2 weeks to think it through before I click purchase...
I've had this in my watch later for 3 years and it came up randomly. I love your vibe!
I told myself not to buy more sticker books...I bought more...🤦♀️
So I'm not the only one who noticed the paper quality went down for this year's planners!
You are a breath of fresh air and I wish I could be as brave and honest with myself as you seem to be.🙏🏼🙏🏼
I am not buying anything planner related until it’s time for a January to December 2022 planner and then only one planner with monthly and weekly layout in a size large enough to write in and small enough to carry around will be purchased. I have stickers from years ago and find that I use them very infrequently to highlight important events/ tasks.
A fresh perspective that we don't normally hear on RUclips. Thanks!
I absolutely love these videos and how I feel like you're talking to a friend. Please never stop!
The “no white space” planning layouts gets sooooo expensive omg, I don’t know how people do it 🤣
I'm new to planning and its caused me so much stress
@@iStorm-my5fp same. it gives me anxiety just to look at those busy lay outs.
thank you for always giving us the videos we need to hear.
CINDY. You basically just say all the things that also go on in my head with planners. Thanks for being you.
Oh I love your sass! So glad I found you channel. Literally laughed out loud and scared my dog when you discussed sticker books.
I love her so much. I learn so many new curse words when I watch her! She is hilarious!!!!
I abso-f'ing-lutely love your realism and vocabulary! Stay real, Cindy! And stay strong - no more totes!!!
I love this video because you are speaking to me! Pouches, soft containers, things I keep seeing over and over, ‘oh my god, i must have this’. I need to rein it in!
Yes I understand the buying the planner with each new release. I have decided to move back to hobonichi and plum planners.
Cindy- this video has really helped me to GTFO of FOMO. I have watched this video twice since to remind me to not get out of control! (Thank you, budget!) This video is a reminder for me to use what I have and to stop buying excess. I said GOODBYE to sticker books!
loved the ~cough cough~ and this is definitely relatable -- thanks for the reality check Cindy -- and yes to that video!
Two things:
I converted my office to my bedroom, which meant I had to go through my planner supplies.
The new haircut really suits you Cindy! Sending good vibes your way for the move and all the stuff you´re dealing with!
Would also love to see an update to your planner community pet peeves, or planner trends you like and dislike!
oooooh i hadn't thought about updating that. my peeves are a little less item related and more existential haha
You hit me in all the feels! Hate wire binding. Plus all these damn planner launches are hard to resist but they don’t work for my needs( talking to you Full Focus Planner). To say I am “planner confused” would sum it up, until I find the holy grail, I am staying with a bullet journal.
When you were talking about sticker books I kept thinking washi, washi, WASHI!!!! LOL
“Making it rain sticker books” 😂 yessss! I agree 100%. I’ve got a couple for fun pops of color. But no more!!
NO! just NO! Lol
Thank you for this! I'm not buying any planner things until 2023. Starting a no spend for the next year!
Ok you crack me up. You are so,smart to be aware of what you don't need or like. I totally agree about the stickers.
I just can't figure out my shit.
i almost bought a new canvas tote YESTERDAY. like, come on man!
I LOVE this. I love this topic. I love this anti-consumerism. LOVE.
Bags, pouches and totes oh my! Totally my Achilles heel as well
And D, you are in the middle of moving and that will be more stuff to pack.
Your short hair looks SO CUTE on you. Omg. & that color shirt brings out your eyes really well.
Thank you so much!!
This is a great reminder video. I have just started trying to be really conscious of the money I spend and what I spend it on.
Girl- valid reasons all around. Speak it! Best wishes as you pack it up and haul to move. I love your truth.
How have I not run across you before?!?!? You literally speak my language! Hella funny and right up my alley!!!
Girl this message was for me! Thanks for the reminder! Best wishes on your move :)
