I am big on black people voting and thinking the way they want, because we as a people have earned that right. So Candace's political perspective isn't the issue, imo. Another black Republican? Fine, not my cup of tea, but no big deal. But for me, when you are a black conservative and you "have escaped the democratic plantation" (*Candace's own words), you are disrespecting your fellow African-Americans with different political views than you (which black Republicans complain about often). As a black woman who wants all black folks to have a seat at the table, that doesn't fly right with me. There are many reasons for why black folks vote the way they do. I am tired of people on the right - of any color, automatically assuming that those of us who vote left are "brainwashed" or "asleep." *Black people don't owe anyone a vote, period.* These two parties, which are not run by us, need to be grateful that we haven't thrown our hands up completely and said "fuck it." But not all black Republicans vote because of what they believe in socially. There are plenty of black men who have conservative social opinions (especially about black girls like me, and LGBT folks in our community) but wouldn't vote for the Republican party if you paid them a million bucks in cash. AND there are black Republicans who lean to the right because of their own economic concerns (which is an important part of Candace Owen's rhetoric: MONEY). Now, do I see where you're coming from with the white conservative part? Yes I do. There are PLENTY of white conservatives who generalize and look down on us. I do not discount that. And there obviously some black Republicans, like Jesse Lee Peterson and Larry Elder who are rude and disrespectful, but they're still black - no matter how much we would like for that not to be the case. A political spectrum exists here, and African-Americans are diverse enough mentally to where we can fall anywhere for different reasons. IMO, black people have come too far to just vote for one party and not actually DEMAND that these political coalitions work to their benefit. That's my biggest pet peeve. We're all so angry and arguing with EACH OTHER that we do not demand whichever political party we vote for individually that they - as I said before, work for us. I mean that plenty of black men have sort of conservative old-fashioned social views on how women should behave. There are quite a few who want black women to fulfill the motherly role of having children, caring for the home (cooking, cleaning, etc.) and being a wife. Getting into conservatism on the political level, these men that I'm referring to are also very likely to hate the pro-choice movement to a degree, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the topic of black women and abortions. There are conservatives in general who have similar views and opinions, despite their race. Yet, many black men - despite what they want for their communities or their women or whatever, do not vote conservative or for the Republicans. That is what I'm trying to explain. You can have conservative social views and still not vote conservative politically.

This video was for fun and as Candace said, global warming is not what she goes across the country educating people on as she hasn't studied it. And while reading some history books she came to realize that everything she had been taught in school about the Democrats was false and that from the time of slavery to today, the Democrats were explicitly engaged in racism well into the 60s, when it was actually the Republicans who made the Civil Rights Bill happen, and have been taking advantage of blacks ever since. Why do conservatives love her so much! I've been watching her videos because a conservative friend of mine really loved her video on George Floyd and I had never even heard of her before that. As Candace went through a very long time where she was ill and during her off time she did a tremendous amount of reading and studying as it pertained to Conservatism. While of course, she already knew some things, but also came to realize that her education was basically a lie as it had always portrayed Democrats as the heroes in spite of the fact that they were the party of slavery; the GOP was formed specifically to end slavery and did and then passed the 13, 14th and 15th Amendents, (along with giving women the right to vote over Democrat objections). The Democrats also enforced the Black Codes and Jim Crow laws, both creating and using the KKK, to do so, and Democrat Orville Faubus, of course, was the individual who would not allow the black students to enter Central High, in Arkansas, until such time as Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower sent in the National Guard for their protection. Then, the Civil Rights Act nor the Voting Rights Act would have been passed if not for the Republicans. As the Democrats tried to filibuster it - to try to keep it from a vote - by Repulican Senator Everett Dirksen brought that to an end and then a greater percentage of Republicans than Democrats voted for those two (2) act. Of course, two, LBJs Great Society program absolutely tore black families apart and it is still a problem, today, with the intellectual scholarship on this being quite sound and their are innumerable texts on this that explain why. While the shortest explanation is that the government did not allow people on welfare to save money and they also made it easy for women to prefer to have babies out of wedlock than to stay with their husbands. And this, with the social science being irrefutable, is awful. As children, then, often do so much worse in school, get in more trouble, and often times, too, search for that father figure in a gang or something of that sort. Blacks too, of course, loved the Republicans and were with them forever from the 1860s to the 1930s when they then made a Faustian bargain with FDR for jobs during the Great Depression. Yes, the Democrat FDR who locked all those poor Japanese people up for no reason but is still somehow one of the most loved Democrats ever. Don't ask me, as I can't explain it, as it's quite clear that World War II is what got us out of the Great Depression. There are other things, too, but the Democrats still today are hurting blacks and quite openly in supporting open borders as illegal Hispanics are willing to take jobs for less than the minimum wage and this has totally devastated whole industries. For instance, the whole 'hotel cleaning industry' has basically been taken over by Hispanics as they are working for cash under the table and there is now a federal investigation on. We also know that our najorinner cities, and all of them (95% plus) are ran by the Democrats, totally, are an absolute mess. So from the days of slavery to today, there is no way to deny that the Democrat party has been no friend of blacks. People can try and spin it anyway they might like, but the facts are in the figures. When, too, the greatest road to prosperity in America is EDUCATION and we know the public school system, on the whole - as there are many fine public school teachers - is a mess! However, and the Republicans have run many pilot programs with VOUCHERS and SCHOOL CHOICE where parents not satisfied with the education their child is receiving at their local school can take that voucher and use it any school they wish just like cash. Moreover, because the government and the public school system is so inefficient, the costs of their 'educating' a child, if we can call it that, is often thousands of dollars more than the better schools they could send their kids, too. Therefore, in most if not all cases, they would have any extra money needed to help with the costs of books and transportation. So these are the issues, and there are more, that Candace talks about and is more than knowledgeable about. And Turning Point USA, for whom Candace is the Communications Director, stands for a couple of basic things and GLOBAL WARMING is not one of them. So while I'm quite athletic and considered awesome at sports, it would be like asking me about soccer, which is something I have no interest in. Also, if you are familiar with TV or interviews, as I am, the topics are pretty much understood up top so as to make for a good show. And if, of course, Candace was a politician rather than someone from Turning Point to represent what Turning Point does, your criticisms would have merit. When, too, you are very much being a hypocrite as one would hardly have the Director of Planned Parenthood on and then talk for 25 minutes about Global Warming. Show less
For one, when people talk of racism, it isn't actually counted on the basis of people's own personal experiences and I've experienced racist treatment several times. While the way it is best measured is through various social science surveys and other credible methodologies where people tend to be more honest. And I'm not really going to go into this as fully as I could, but I will say this as a policy analyst who deals with this type of data all the time. What we find, overall, is that America is not a very racist country, on the whole, at all. And while what Oprah had said about older people going ahead and dying was inappropriate, she was correct to a certain extent as older people - mainly people who are actually 75+, etc., do tend to be more racist, but at the same time they are usually at home and certainly don't make too much of an impact on the country in a negative way b/c of that. But when we know people were raised wrong, or taught wrong such as with politics, etc., that tends to stick with them. White supremacists, etc. are also obviously racist, but there are actually so few of them, that from a statistical standpoint, they don't even exist. (A) Very old people, white supremacist types, etc. With the other group that is the most racist, according to the best evidence there is, (B) are those people who talk about racism the most. And what we find, too, is that if you take the group I categorized as A, along with group B, the biggest reason each of the members of those groups say they harbor racism is because they feel the other group harbors it at them. So it's an amazing dynamic. Sad, too, and we'll never be able to wipe out racism totally, but we're definitely within a generation or less.

My theory is that Candace Owens decided after a while, if she can’t beat them, join them. People when challenged can run in the opposite direction, stay unmoved or embrace the challenge. She wants so badly to believe racism doesn’t exist because she probably got tired of fighting and dealing with it. Her past statements and experiences may indicate as much fatigue as I suspect. But what do I know?
Candace does that thing that I hate. I don't know how to put this into words well, but for example. I try to be informed when I'm discussing something, but if I'm not I'll make it a point to discuss. But when I talk, I don't have authority in my voice so it's easy to dismiss me. In case you haven't noticed there are more mixed race families today than ever before in American history. This integration of family has done more to combat racism in the last 40 years than anything else over the same time period. My own extended family was all hetero white people prior to 1970 now is a melting pot of Black, Latino Asian with a few gay and lesbian couples as well. My grandson is mixed. So yeah, white folks care about the minority communities more today. This might seem to be all of a sudden to someone under 30 or living in a bubble but it's not. For the democracts, progressives, university academics or the media to say that the USA is a racist nation or that the Repubs are racist is simply false. The field of Repubs running for the Repub nomination for president against Trump is a perfect example of this. Go back and look at who ran for the Dems. All white and only one woman. Then go look at who ran in 2016 for the Repubs. I'm an independent not a Repub. The Dems have been declaring from the rooftops how much they love and care about the minority communities and doing nothing for them. All the while calling anyone who disagrees racist. This is so evident that just this week a democratic Socialist beat out a long time incumbent congressman in NY City even though he spent 10 times as much money as she did on the campaign trail.
I've voted for Dems in the past but probably never again.

It's great that Candace is so young, but so knowledgeable as to all of the problems the Democrat party has created for blacks. While this tape was selectively edited as I saw the whole interview and Candace said, quite honestly - which is refreshing - that she has never really studied the issue to any great extent and only seen a few things that lead her to believe it's not a major problem, such as it being cyclical and the Earth being fine heretofore. So trying to bash her when she is being so unlike a politician with her honesty is really ridiculous.
It's fantastic, too, that she has such influence in DC and that we see such things as the lowest unemployment rate for blacks, ever, under President Trump and he is pushing legislation for prison reform to help undo so much of the damage caused by Bill Clinton's crime bill. He already has several programs that are related to having employers hire former felons, etc., which will help whites, Hispanics, blacks and anyone who both deserves and wants a second chance. As I'm not much of one for a politician's rhetoric, but I do like it when I see them get things done! So many positive things are happening, it's hard to keep up, as there are major plans in the pipeline, too, to help the inner cities.

I am big on black people voting and thinking the way they want, because we as a people have earned that right. So Candace's political perspective isn't the issue, imo. Another black Republican? Fine, not my cup of tea, but no big deal. But for me, when you are a black conservative and you "have escaped the democratic plantation" (*Candace's own words), you are disrespecting your fellow African-Americans with different political views than you (which black Republicans complain about often). As a black woman who wants all black folks to have a seat at the table, that doesn't fly right with me. There are many reasons for why black folks vote the way they do. I am tired of people on the right - of any color, automatically assuming that those of us who vote left are "brainwashed" or "asleep." *Black people don't owe anyone a vote, period.* These two parties, which are not run by us, need to be grateful that we haven't thrown our hands up completely and said "fuck it."
If you're a non-black liberal, it's not your place to call a black conservative a "race traitor" or an "Uncle Tom."
If you're a non-black conservative, it's not your place to suggest that black people are on a "Democratic Plantation" or "need to be woken up" if they vote left or Democrat.
It's bad enough for me to watch my own people tear each other down over politics, like with what I have seen from Candace. We don't need white people and other non-blacks doing the same thing. That is what is concerning to me. She and other people (like Charlie Kirk for example) who are not African-American consistently use their political views to disrespect other African-Americans. I am not cool with that.
But not all black Republicans vote because of what they believe in socially. There are plenty of black men who have conservative social opinions (especially about black girls like me, and LGBT folks in our community) but wouldn't vote for the Republican party if you paid them a million bucks in cash. AND there are black Republicans who lean to the right because of their own economic concerns (which is an important part of Candace Owen's rhetoric: MONEY).
Now, do I see where you're coming from with the white conservative part? Yes I do. There are PLENTY of white conservatives who generalize and look down on us. I do not discount that.
And there obviously some black Republicans, like Jesse Lee Peterson and Larry Elder who are rude and disrespectful, but they're still black - no matter how much we would like for that not to be the case.
A political spectrum exists here, and African-Americans are diverse enough mentally to where we can fall anywhere for different reasons. IMO, black people have come too far to just vote for one party and not actually DEMAND that these political coalitions work to their benefit. That's my biggest pet peeve. We're all so angry and arguing with EACH OTHER that we do not demand whichever political party we vote for individually that they - as I said before, work for us.
And there are things that black conservatives and Republicans say that - even I don't agree with HOW they plan to accomplish these things, I'm glad they talk about them. Example? Rebuilding the black family. I'm the daughter of a black single mother and the lack of relationships that I have seen has negatively impacted me on a personal level. AND a lot of black people - because of their upbringing, have trouble creating relationships with other black people in the future. Do I think that there is anything *political* that this predominantly white-run Republican party will try do to remedy that? HELL NO. But at least black conservatives talk about it, and that's a start. I don't see as many black folks who lean left discuss this sort of thing as often, which concerns me.
Now obviously there are plenty of things that I disagree with them on, but we can get into that later.
All I'm saying is that voting Democrat isn't something that black folks have to do, but disrespecting black political opinion is not something that we SHOULD DO - that's all...
I mean that plenty of black men have sort of conservative old-fashioned social views on how women should behave. There are quite a few who want black women to fulfill the motherly role of having children, caring for the home (cooking, cleaning, etc.) and being a wife. Getting into conservatism on the political level, these men that I'm referring to are also very likely to hate the pro-choice movement to a degree, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the topic of black women and abortions. There are conservatives in general who have similar views and opinions, despite their race. Yet, many black men - despite what they want for their communities or their women or whatever, do not vote conservative or for the Republicans. That is what I'm trying to explain. You can have conservative social views and still not vote conservative politically.
This is one of the reasons I don't care for her because she uses her platform to target other black people on her social media. It reminds me of #45 attacks on people who disagrees with him. She does not know all the things that every day black ppl or black celebrities do to help their communities or help black ppl causes period! It confirms that she just spews out the right rhetoric.
That's a fair position to have. My beef is that African-Americans aren't just a monolith. We vote different ways for different reasons. My issue is that African-Americans are constantly talked *at* and not talked *to*. As Candace's friend the stuff about money is totally not true as when she got sick she simply had a lot of time on her hands in which she talked with her Conservative grandfather a lot, got back in touch with those roots and then read a lot of books on Conservative ideology. And while reading some history books she came to realize that everything she had been taught in school about the Democrats was false and that from the time of slavery to today, the Democrats were explicitly engaged in racism well into the 60s, when it was actually the Republicans who made the Civil Rights Bill happen, and have been taking advantage of blacks ever since.
While she came to realize, too, that Conservative ideas were quite logical, and things that Conservative Republicans support such as SCHOOL VOUCHERS, for instance, are probably the biggest and #1 policy change you could make in America to truly help blacks most and yet Democrats oppose that, too. She was doing financially well before she got sick, too, and was offered only $50,000 from Turning Point USA for her current job, while about a month ago a company tried to lure her away from her mission of at least getting blacks to have an open mind and look at the type of policies I am talking about here, and because the mission was so important to her she actually turned down a million dollar contract.
People like her too, for what we saw here, as when she was asked about climate change - which she has no present interest in as compared to her project to at least get blacks to start having an open discussion on Conservative ideas, and to really look at the Democrats' past - which truly is horrible as it relates to blacks frankly - she said she knew nothing about climate change instead of trying to BS everyone.

This is where most Repubs or so called denier's differ from the left wing narrative on climate change. While she came to realize, too, that Conservative ideas were quite logical, and things that Conservative Republicans support such as SCHOOL VOUCHERS, for instance, are probably the biggest and #1 policy change you could make in America to truly help blacks most and yet Democrats oppose that, too. She was doing financially well before she got sick, too, and was offered only $50,000 from Turning Point USA for her current job, while about a month ago a company tried to lure her away from her mission of at least getting blacks to have an open mind and look at the type of policies I am talking about here, and because the mission was so important to her she actually turned down a million dollar contract.
People like her too, for what we saw here, as when she was asked about climate change - which she has no present interest in as compared to her project to at least get blacks to start having an open discussion on Conservative ideas, and to really look at the Democrats' past - which is truly is horrible as it relates to blacks frankly - she said she knew nothing about climate change instead of trying to BS everyone.

She's not a Republican, either, though she is Conservative. While what she is saying is quite smart given that the Democrats do take the black vote for granted and can count on 95% of it, every election, even if they are selling blacks out for Hispanic votes presently. So what Candace is saying is that even if you don't vote Republican or Libertarian or the Green Party, or whatever, that by #WalkingAway from the Democrat party, simply changing your registration to independent, it would definitely make Democrat party leaders take notice and give you more power at the bargaining table.
There also isn't a Conservative plantation as it's simply an intellectual and ideological movement that is very logic based and who gets many of its current ideas from such great black men as Dr. Thomas Sowell and Dr. Walter Williams, etc. Incredible intellects, but not the types who talk 100 mph or try to act like they are the smartest person in the room. Why do conservatives love her so much! I've been watching her videos because a conservative friend of mine really loved her video on George Floyd and I had never even heard of her before that. Now when I watch her videos, conservatives sing her praises and say how elequent she is and how intellectual she is, but all I see is the same circular argumentative debate tactics Trump uses with zero evidence for anything she says. As Candace went through a very long time where she was ill and during her off time she did a tremendous amount of reading and studying as it pertained to Conservatism. While of course, she already knew some things, but also came to realize that her education was basically a lie as it had always portrayed Democrats as the heroes in spite of the fact that they were the party of slavery; the GOP was formed specifically to end slavery and did and then passed the 13, 14th and 15th Amendents, (along with giving women the right to vote over Democrat objections).
The Democrats also enforced the Black Codes and Jim Crow laws, both creating and using the KKK, to do so, and Democrat Orville Faubus, of course, was the individual who would not allow the black students to enter Central High, in Arkansas, until such time as Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower sent in the National Guard for their protection. Then, the Civil Rights Act nor the Voting Rights Act would have been passed if not for the Republicans. As the Democrats tried to filibuster it - to try to keep it from a vote - by Repulican Senator Everett Dirksen brought that to an end and then a greater percentage of Republicans than Democrats voted for those two (2) act.
Of course, two, LBJs Great Society program absolutely tore black families apart and it is still a problem, today, with the intellectual scholarship on this being quite sound and their are innumerable texts on this that explain why. While the shortest explanation is that the government did not allow people on welfare to save money and they also made it easy for women to prefer to have babies out of wedlock than to stay with their husbands. And this, with the social science being irrefutable, is awful. As children, then, often do so much worse in school, get in more trouble, and often times, too, search for that father figure in a gang or something of that sort. Blacks too, of course, loved the Republicans and were with them forever from the 1860s to the 1930s when they then made a Faustian bargain with FDR for jobs during the Great Depression. Yes, the Democrat FDR who locked all those poor Japanese people up for no reason but is still somehow one of the most loved Democrats ever. Don't ask me, as I can't explain it, as it's quite clear that World War II is what got us out of the Great Depression.
There are other things, too, but the Democrats still today are hurting blacks and quite openly in supporting open borders as illegal Hispanics are willing to take jobs for less than the minimum wage and this has totally devastated whole industries. For instance, the whole 'hotel cleaning industry' has basically been taken over by Hispanics as they are working for cash under the table and there is now a federal investigation on. We also know that our najorinner cities, and all of them (95% plus) are ran by the Democrats, totally, are an absolute mess. So from the days of slavery to today, there is no way to deny that the Democrat party has been no friend of blacks. People can try and spin it anyway they might like, but the facts are in the figures.
When, too, the greatest road to prosperity in America is EDUCATION and we know the public school system, on the whole - as there are many fine public school teachers - is a mess! However, and the Republicans have run many pilot programs with VOUCHERS and SCHOOL CHOICE where parents not satisfied with the education their child is receiving at their local school can take that voucher and use it any school they wish just like cash. Moreover, because the government and the public school system is so inefficient, the costs of their 'educating' a child, if we can call it that, is often thousands of dollars more than the better schools they could send their kids, too. Therefore, in most if not all cases, they would have any extra money needed to help with the costs of books and transportation.
So these are the issues, and there are more, that Candace talks about and is more than knowledgeable about. And Turning Point USA, for whom Candace is the Communications Director, stands for a couple of basic things and GLOBAL WARMING is not one of them. So while I'm quite athletic and considered awesome at sports, it would be like asking me about soccer, which is something I have no interest in.
Also, if you are familiar with TV or interviews, as I am, the topics are pretty much understood up top so as to make for a good show. And if, of course, Candace was a politician rather than someone from Turning Point to represent what Turning Point does, your criticisms would have merit. When, too, you are very much being a hypocrite as one would hardly have the Director of Planned Parenthood on and then talk for 25 minutes about Global Warming.

For one, when people talk of racism, it isn't actually counted on the basis of people's own personal experiences and I've experienced racist treatment several times. While the way it is best measured is through various social science surveys and other credible methodologies where people tend to be more honest. And I'm not really going to go into this as fully as I could, but I will say this as a policy analyst who deals with this type of data all the time. What we find, overall, is that America is not a very racist country, on the whole, at all. And while what Oprah had said about older people going ahead and dying was inappropriate, she was correct to a certain extent as older people - mainly people who are actually 75+, etc., do tend to be more racist, but at the same time they are usually at home and certainly don't make too much of an impact on the country in a negative way b/c of that. But when we know people were raised wrong, or taught wrong such as with politics, etc., that tends to stick with them. White supremacists, etc. are also obviously racist, but there are actually so few of them, that from a statistical standpoint, they don't even exist. (A) Very old people, white supremacist types, etc.
With the other group that is the most racist, according to the best evidence there is, (B) are those people who talk about racism the most. And what we find, too, is that if you take the group I categorized as A, along with group B, the biggest reason each of the members of those groups say they harbor racism is because they feel the other group harbors it at them. So it's an amazing dynamic. Sad, too, and we'll never be able to wipe out racism totally, but we're definitely within a generation or less.
Systemic racism in America is certainly gone as Candace could tell you. While she came to realize, too, that Conservative ideas were quite logical, and things that Conservative Republicans support such as SCHOOL VOUCHERS, for instance, are probably the biggest and #1 policy change you could make in America to truly help blacks most and yet Democrats oppose that, too. She was doing financially well before she got sick, too, and was offered only $50,000 from Turning Point USA for her current job, while about a month ago a company tried to lure her away from her mission of at least getting blacks to have an open mind and look at the type of policies I am talking about here, and because the mission was so important to her she actually turned down a million dollar contract.
People like her too, for what we saw here, as when she was asked about climate change - which she has no present interest in as compared to her project to at least get blacks to start having an open discussion on Conservative ideas, and to really look at the Democrats' past - which is truly is horrible as it relates to blacks frankly - she said she knew nothing about climate change instead of trying to BS everyone.

My theory is that Candace Owens decided after a while, if she can’t beat them, join them. People when challenged can run in the opposite direction, stay unmoved or embrace the challenge.

Candace does that thing that I hate. I don't know how to put this into words well, but for example. I try to be informed when I'm discussing something, but if I'm not I'll make it a point to discuss. But when I talk, I don't have authority in my voice so it's easy to dismiss me. Whereas there's people who can say straight up bold faced lies with no proof to back them up, but speak with so much authority that you truly believe what they're saying is true. Candace does that.
