Bhai I am from Southern part of India, there is nothing special in our industry, it is as same as Bollywood. Every good and bad that exists in Bollywood exists here also. The only difference is people here worship an Actor more than his films. Being a telugu guy before KGF I never heard of any actor or movie from Kannada. It is sad to see people getting divided like south and north. Not only movie actors people are same everywhere in the world. The only thing that we should be unite is on the basis of humanity.
As a south indian I can confirm that the north vs south divide was started by people from north who started hating bollywood after SSR's death. There's no competition between north industry and south industry as they grow in their own space but recent years people started watching movies from the south and found them to be something new and interesting. It's just a matter of time until people will be bored of both industries and something like ' Indian Industry ' can takeover , where people from all over india make movies together ❤️

There are so many small but good movies in the South apart from these biggies like KGF, pushpa,etc. Those movies should be released on a Pan India scale.

In Hindi, there were some rare joys like Bob biswas, Sardar Udham. Heard good about cobalt blue from 2022. The point is, hindi movies have a larger audience but the product being served is either cliché or simply stale. It's time when Hindi industry can take a page from southern film industries and adapt. Serve better content. Don't run after remakes. Offer us novelty.

I think this discussion is creating divide, it is Indian film industry as a whole! So everyone can enjoy everything. Yes Bollywood has to up their game. It is not about the gimmicks in south but the right amount of everything that makes the masala entertainer. In the name of masala entertainer superstars in Bollywood take the audience for granted. Bollywood superstars were the only one to introduce us with South movies by their remakes, all the current leading name had done at least one South Movie's remakes and later we had explored the originals and eventually reached to this south cinema's current stardom.
Instead of dividing maybe we need to integrate the two talents. I think Bollywood has enough stars and actors. what it doesn’t have is the story writers and directors to have a different approach. Firstly you were right to have your views and somewhat correct too. But I think audience is now a days going to theatre more for experience and hence movies like RRR, Pushpa and KGF are working. Jersey may be a good film with good performances but people will wait for it to watch on OTT. Real test will be for movies like Brahmastra, Shamsheera or Lal Singh Chadha which again will bring something new .
Bhai it's the era of superhero movies. India's young audience is pretty much exposed to the top notch superhero content, so how would you attract them by mediocre sup movie! I know they were confined within their limited budget and we should support them as they tried something new which this industry usually doesn't! But again asking for money for a mediocre product and depending on audience's good will won't help you much!

I think corona made people focus more on South Indian movies. People did not have much work to do and they shifted to OTT platform consuming anything and everything . Bollywood just has to get back on track by making movies which audience can relate to .
Bollywood should focus on movies like URI, TANHAJI, TKF etc. Low on budget and high on return And most importantly they should work on superhero universe projects which are quite successful in the recent times We have our own Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruv, Shaktimaan etc.

We supported only 4 to 5 movie s of south ... And behaving like we supported every film from south , abhi rukho phirse hum bollywood ko hi chatenge , those films which we supported are literally 4 to 5 years hard worked films. Guys, u need to understand one thing by now.. There r two types of cinemas in the current era- one for theaters and one for OTTs. Now, the movies like pushpa, rrr, kgf etc are for theaters and any concept movies are for OTTs. Now, no concept movies will be successful in theaters. Only movies with grand scale and larger than life characters which are specially for big screens will be successful in theaters. And south movies are experts in this aspect. Unless Bollywood can make such kind of movies, they can't succeed in theaters

One thing I really don't understand, on one hand we appreciate RRR despite that it has unrealistic action scenes but at the same time we criticize Radhe. P.S. I loved RRR but only because it was entertaining so don't cancel me🙏
You need proper storytelling, character building and screenplay to get the audience emotionally invested in the film to be able to buy into illogical stuff later on. The suspension of disbelief has to be earned. A random person throwing away a motorcycle is not entertaining on its own unless you have build it up in the story for the last two hours.
RRR had physics defying unrealistic actions but they were not overly blown. While in Radhe , in the first scene ,Selmon some how got into a sky scrapper through breaking windows, got past everyone in light speed and killed everyone.

Firstly you were right to have your views and somewhat correct too. But I think audience is now a days going to theatre more for experience and hence movies like RRR, Pushpa and KGF are working. Jersey may be a good film with good performances but people will wait for it to watch on OTT.
Real test will be for movies like Brahmastra, Shamsheera or Lal Singh Chadha which again will bring something new .

Guys, u need to understand one thing by now.. There r two types of cinemas in the current era- one for theaters and one for OTTs. Now, the movies like pushpa, rrr, kgf etc are for theaters and any concept movies are for OTTs. Now, no concept movies will be successful in theaters. Only movies with grand scale and larger than life characters which are specially for big screens will be successful in theaters. And south movies are experts in this aspect. Unless Bollywood can make such kind of movies, they can't succeed in theaters

You need proper storytelling, character building and screenplay to get the audience emotionally invested in the film to be able to buy into illogical stuff later on. The suspension of disbelief has to be earned. A random person throwing away a motorcycle is not entertaining on its own unless you have build it up in the story for the last two hours.
RRR had physics defying unrealistic actions but they were not overly blown. While in Radhe , in the first scene ,Selmon some how got into a sky scrapper through breaking windows, got past everyone in light speed and killed everyone.
