      Yeah, I was looking forward to it and was surprised it wasn't mentioned. When I hear people talk about top black biopics, The Temptations is always mentioned (along with What's Love Got To Do With It, The Jacksons, Malcolm X, and Ray). Hopefully, she'll do a part 2.

    I absolutely loved the Malcolm X movie and I am still very hurt that Denzel Washington didn’t win an Oscar for his performance. What’s Love Got To Do With It was 🔥 also and Angela Basset should have won an Oscar for her performance as well.

    Jamie WAS Ray Charles. he definitely deserved his Oscar plus the supporting cast was A1. I love The Jackson 5 mini series. Wylie & Jason were wonderful as Michael & Angela was amazing as always ❤ still got it on DVD.

    Great video and thank you. As best biopics I will add two - The autobiograpghy of Miss Jane Pitman played by CICELY TYSON R.I.P. and Lady Sings the Blues played by Diana Ross. Both ladies were nominated for the Academy Awards but didn't win. One more, 42 played by CHADWICK BOSEMAN R.I.P.🙏❤

    I've watched Hidden Figures it was really good I enjoy it and Malcolm X movie I've watch that when I was in high school it wasn't that bad and even The Jacksons: An American Dream was so good I still remember it and watches it that's the perfect and best biopics ever made.

    I was 15 years old when Ray came out. I didn't know much about him coming up, so when the movie came out, i asked my dad to take me to see it. He was busy but promised to drop me off after school to see it. I spent a few days collecting lunch money for the admission and, when the time came, my little brother tagged along. It was a great time Auth a great movie

    You did a amazing job with this video 🔥. The Temptations, Cadillac Records, New Jack City, Sparkle, n I think The Five Heartbeats was a bio too but were wonderful films as well. Part 2 is necessary please n thank you 😁

    I love watching biopics based on musical artist. My favorites are The Jacksons: An American Dream, CrazySexyCool TLC story, New Edition and Bobby Brown and What's Love Got to Do With it. Angela Bassett is such an outstanding actress.

      I know. Someone made a joke that she always plays someone’s mom: Boyz in the Hood, The Jacksons miniseries, Akeelah and the Bee, What’s Love Got to Do with It, Malcolm X, etc.

      ⁠@@kamsismith I don’t even consider her portrayals in What’s Love and Malcolm X as roles where she just “played someone’s mother.” She portrayed women who happened to be mothers. Especially her portrayal of Tina Turner…she was layered. That’s not even the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of those roles. Same with her portrayal of Coretta Scott King…I can only think of a few roles in her catalog where the focus is her portrayal as a mother. Even in her current show 911, her character is a mother, but it’s not the focus. Jennifer Lewis’ has more roles that align more with that narrative IMO, which is why she has the nickname (The Black Mother of Hollywood)

      I would love that. There are so many black biopics I would love to see. The biggest ones I would love to see are Minnie Riperton, Tammi Terrell, Nina Simone(the correct casting version), Etta James, and Rita Marley.

    Fun fact: Jamie Foxx actually received two Oscar nominations that year; the other one was Best Supporting Actor for Collateral, although it wasn't a biopic. He still won for Ray though!

    ❤I love all of these biopics!! I also enjoyed Notorious I think the actors did a great job and it was spot on! It was too short tho and we need a biopic of diddy dirty trifling life as well!! Like a mini series!

    The Jackson’s five/ what’s love got to do with it & temptations reminds me of those summers back in the day where it’d come on, you can leave your house do a few errands, come back and it’d still be on 😂😂
