IVE BEEN SEING THIS A LOT SO I WANNA TALK ABOUT IT:
ive seen a lot of people complain about how their songs now have no meanings and how this song is superficial and just about alcohol and drugs so i wanted to write what i felt the song talks about or is trying to say
The song talks a lot about different temptations (like the media, drugs, or as mentioned in their title track "californication" thats always trying to take these young stars trying to make their art down) that put a strain on young stars especially mentally. And as for the implications of drugs, leo when talking about this song mentions how he gets so many comments asking if he's drunk or on drugs to which he says "no this is just me" so those lines are almost like satirical commentary on how everyone expects them to be living that party and drugs life even when they're not, and the hate and pressure put on them is almost enough to tempt them to fall into that. You see them let out their frustration on these things again towards the end when leo starts yelling then ends with "frowning at the camera cuz i hate this sh*t" similar to how we see young celebrities losing it on fans or paparrazzi (the camera being talked about) after having enough of being so constantly bombarded.

i jus watched their bgt auditions n was curious ab where they were now and this is not what i expected
Am I the only one who's totally okay with these two evolving into something different?(and not in a bad way) I mean their songs only represent a small part of who they are, even the one they did on Britain's got talent. As an artist, you've got to go futher and evolve if you want to keep doing what you're doing you know? Maybe nobody would still listen to their songs if it was still about bullying. It would have been such out of the place anyway because they're clearelly not concern about being bullied anymore and people have to disassociated them from the victim image they brought on BGT show.
