As a laid off American tech worker, how and why am I supposed to care about these foreign workers who constantly discriminate against me in the hiring process, by the hiring committee, interviewer, and management (I'm afro-Latino, but this doesn't just affect my kind, we just get treated the worst of them all) ?? There is a huge pool of tech talent in America that we overlook because these companies are constantly asking irrelevant and unnecessary interview questions that qualified and high quality tech workers cannot even consistently answer correctly, and then claim that there is a shortage of talent, using that to justify hiring H1B visa holders in order to have more compliant workers. This is pure propaganda nonsense that is playing on the old "model minority" trope in order to boost these foreign workers, which are way overrepresented in the tech industry, at the expense of actually underrepresented minorities, and the American tech workforce as a whole.
