John was very fond of the A chord with a D added…..he also uses it in I’ve Got A Feeling…..he even says in the documentary “I’m always using this riff lately.”
Amazing how George was able to play those clever and articulate licks in his solo, with his hands basically freezing!!! Shows you that when the money is on the line, George delivers as well as do the other of course!! God Bless thanks for this video!! I'm a pianist and now how hard it is to play with hands cold, and guitar it has to be the same!!
Even though we had the album back in 1970, I had forgotten about this song until the Get Back doc. I was surprised how good it is, & how much it grooves. Great song...great choice Mike!
Great job! I am always amazed at Georges double stops. This was a great show of how he did his work. 60 years of listening and following these guys. Always love to see someone clarify their work.
Coolest song on the roof. Any other band-with #1 hit songs, as well as the freaking White Album released just a few months before-would’ve simply performed those hit songs they had just done. But not the Beatles…instead they gathered Jan 2 and created all new music, under pressure, toward an as yet unsettled performance! And Why? Because they were ARTISTS and not just pop/rock musicians.
Fantastic Mike! Thanks, this is so spot on as usual. The time is very difficult on this song. Pretty complicated song with the fills and chords. One of my fav Beatles tunes.
I love these videos because they introduce to some awesome licks and weird chords that I've never done before and they do me a lot good for writing my own stuff. Once again, thank you Mr Pachelli.
Awesome (as always!) As you can tell this is one of my favorite Beatles songs. I had heard that one of the reasons that John wouldn't "own" some of the words had to do with the line "I roll a stoney" referring not so subtly to The Rolling Stones. The line that follows - "You can imitate anyone you know..." Of course we know that John, when he was feeling mean, said in an interview that the Stones copied everything The Beatles ever did. As the bands were actually friends, putting this down in a song can end up being a bit awkward when next you see Mick, or Keef, (AWESOME AUTOBIO btw!) Charlie or Bill. For this reason he distanced himself from the lyrics. Privately? I've got to believe, after all the work they put into it, he was damn proud of it. - Maybe he was just sick of it... LOL! In any case I love this song and I always will, and you did an AMAZING job on it. - Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your fam! [OH! One more thing!! I work around the corner from The Dakota (at abc tv on 66th street) and I pass it on occasion when I drive to work. as a way of thanking you for all the work you put into these vids, I did a shout for you - "Mike Pachelli sends hi love and says hi!" Knew you wouldn't mind.]
Great job on this one Mike. I love these Lennon Guitar riff style songs the most of all Beatles recordings. This was one of the last he wrote before the breakup in that style. You do a great job in recreating it. I actually haven't tried to play this one in years .However today I will . Thanks again. Id like to request a lesson on " I call your Name " . Great Harrison 12 string on that one. I couldn't find a version by you . Thanks again Mike
Probably my favourite of the Let It Be sessions (maybe along with Get Back). I only play one of those double stop fills each time. No excuse now not to learn some variations! So glad they let you out of prison for the day to make this Mike
Fantastic lesson as always Mike. Always loved this song and George’s licks are awesome. Massively impressed with your McCartney high harmonies on the soundalike too. Great work
That is the best explaination of the main riff. I own a tab book and it's most definitely not as staight forward as your presentation. Kudos for finding the correct way to play it.
Hey Mike, I love your videos about these classic Beatles songs. I was looking for a tutorial for Yer Blues from the White Album, and I couldn't find one from you. Il keep an eye out for if you ever do one. Thanks for making awesome videos. 👍🏻
Running out of Beatles songs was inevitable, Mike. How about Dear Prudence? It's not a rocker, but it has an endearing/enduring appeal, and is a slower tempo some of us older guys might appreciate.
Amazing Mike how close you get here to Johns unique singing style. Your drums don’t sound as muffled as Ringos and I think I actually prefer it! Maybe he overdone the tea towels on the recording! Great analysis and please keep them coming.
John - Thanks! That's very kind of you to say. And yeah - recording equipment has come a long way since 1969 so it's possible to get any sort of sound one would like. I chose not to tea towel the snare and floor tom 'cuz I wanted the drums to ring out more to add to the raucousness of the performance.
Great lesson Mike. What strikes me about this song ( and Yer Blues, and She's so heavy) is Lennon is trying to sound contemporary with Clapton and Hendrix. This is a long way from If I fell or I should have known better. I got burnt out from Sgt. Pepper on, and I enjoy analyzing the early stuff, as I suspect you do since you are just now getting to Get Back
The A over D chord I really struggled with that I’ll persist but just used the A then to D it sounded ok but it was a bit of a stretch for me Great lesson as usual it’s a great journey I mean I look back at previous lessons you posted I thought no way too hard but I went back and was able to do it Thanks Mike 🏴
Hi Mike! I absolutely cant wait for these to come out !! 'You' make it clearer than any tabs do. You are a great teacher for guys like me who never had a lesson and are just teaching themselves. This is a great riff to learn moving up and down the neck for me. Just great stuff, always enjoy the stories too! Ill be making another donation when I can. Thanks again. quick question, Do you have a favorite guitar and why?
Good morning Mike Pachelli congratulations for the translation of the song Dig A Pony, it was perfect, I would like to make a request, please make the song Here And Everywhere, a hug Marcio Henrique from Brazil; The Beatles forever!
In the tab part at minute 18:46 George uses the pick-up at the bridge if I'm not mistaken! Congratulations on the video and the channel! I love the Beatles
Thanks to George Harrison for bringing in the wonderful / cool Billy Preston to get through this final Beatles period. Without him, they probably wouldn’t have finished. Billy’s playing is subtle here, but very effective and without his part, the song would have sound thin! Billy’s presence made them all play and get along better.
You mentioned Badfinger in this video. Ever thought of doing some of their music? There are some killer Badfinger guitar parts and Pete Ham was an incredible and underrated guitar player.
Something amazing about their performance of this song on the rooftop is almost micro tempo changes and they all moved together with it. It’s barely transcribable. Their hive mind as a live band.
Great job Mike....... I see you have your brown box in action....... I recently got one and it works great with my 1965 Vox Pacemaker..... Also makes my '94 Matchless Tornado sound better at 115 volts, even though it says 120 volts on the back of it..... less harsh sounding with single coils to my ear at 115 volts....... Bought the Matchless at Thorougbred Music back in '94... always thought it sounded a little harsh ( my word... ha ha) with single coils, but now have the answer...... what will they think of next for us guitar players to buy.... ha ha But I really see how this thing helps no joke......
This is your go to channel for accurate Beatles lessons, respect for Mike, breaking down the moist popular Beatles song, thanks Mike!!
Hey Maestro, how about 'Happiness is a warm gun' next? Who's with me?
Tam - That's on my - 'to-do' list.
Good choice

John was very fond of the A chord with a D added…..he also uses it in I’ve Got A Feeling…..he even says in the documentary “I’m always using this riff lately.”
And a GREAT riff it is too!
If I remember clearly I think he also used that kind of riff on “Across the Universe” ❤
Fantastic lesson!!! George’s part was amazing… you nailed notes that I didn’t know was there! Thank you very much! ❤😊
George added so much to this song - and live too!
Wow you actually played the solo with the exact same sound as George, I love it !! Thanks Mike for the tutorial ! ❤
Amazing how George was able to play those clever and articulate licks in his solo, with his hands basically freezing!!! One of my favorites off 'Let It Be'. A criminally overlooked Beatles track.
I been playing this since the early 80's ... You did another great job....!!!!!!!!
Coolest song on the roof.

Mike you're great.... Thanks for continuing to give us all these old hits....
Love you Beatles lessons keep them coming maestro
Great video Mike! Great song. Love George’s fills and solo on this!
Mike, you never cease to amaze me, playing left handed base too! You do it all so well, thank you...
Really? You haven't caught on yet?
Mike Pachelli. That was the best vocal I've ever heard you do. Great Beatles guitar lesson. Keep it up! Thank You! 🎸💥🎼🎶
Wow. A fun song I have not considered playing before. Thanks Mike.
Wow! Thank you so much Mike for another brilliant break down. I love this song 👍😁
Another great lesson Mike, the studio also looking fab!
Thank you kindly!
Cool lesson! Also, I love Lennon's quote at 1.00 because I know people who always try to find "meaning" in every song
Bravo Mike... Great as usual 👍🏻🎸🖖🏻
Another Great Job Mike 👍🎸🎶🎤
Fantastic Mike, another pearler!
0:00 Intro

Wow! 💯% down to the harmonies. Thx Mike
What you do is mindfull crazyness.

One of John’s best, can’t believe he thought the song a ‘throwaway’😳

I loved this one! I’m starting to dread your running out of Beatle songs.

I love the guitars on this song, the intro is just amazing, the lyrics are kind of weird but I don’t care the guitars make up for it
Mike Pachelli is - hands down - the 5th Beatle!!! ;

I thoroughly enjoyed this, you're the sixth Beatle.
A nonsense song, but it's one of my favourites by John.
