Kasey Chambers - very much Australian.As a child she used to tour with her father, (who is a well known Aussie country singer) through out the aussie country side. I do agree, she does a great job of it. The song was originally recorded by Slim Dusty back in the 50's.
The second best version of this song, after the original ... but this version is pitched to my vocal range, which makes it the better version for singing for me :)

I first heard this version of the song on Boxing Day 1997 when I found myself caused by circumstances to stay at the Court House Hotel in Murwillumbah, and the hotel rooms had radios that could broadcast programs about music festivals that included the Dead Ringer Band performing this song.
