It's so boring just ONLY being on the field and that's it. Why not allow us to have our player have their own personality? Why not include press conferences where you can choose different answers to the questions that you're asked, which shapes the sort of reputation you become known for having as a person? Bring back some of those fun mini-games where you'd actually do the workouts during the combine as an entering rookie. Remember when they had that? You did the bench press reps, the broad jump, and the 40 yrd time. Bring back the parents' backstory feature that was used to help shape what traits you, as a player, might possess that could set you apart from others at your position. Bring back that radio sports station feature where, if you did well that week, you can tune in and the radio hosts are mentioning your name, your stats, and any big key plays you may have made? And for the love of Buddha can I PLEASE be a kicker in career mode? Some of us actually enjoy the concept of just being the kicker of a team. Hell, even a punter. I would honestly love to play a full career as a kicker. I find that concept fun. If EA were to make one Madden game every 3 years instead of every year, they'd be so much better, have much more depth, and would just be overall more fun. And every new Madden wouldn't feel like last year's Madden with slightly updated animations and textures.

I put over hundreds of hours into Madden 12, and Madden 16 is quickly catching up. As a game, 16 is definitely fresh but it can't beat 12. 12 just had everything on point, it was a masterpiece.

The first one on PS2 was the biggest leap I remember. (2001, the one with Eddie George on the cover) That jump was just insane. Madden has had a tough time transitioning to new consoles since then, obviously. Games are much harder to make these days.

to play the superstar game mode on 09 was amazing, doing the random movie scenes and working out and getting new houses
