I love your enthusiasm for Zep, and watching your reactions are almost as good as hearing the songs for the first time myself. For many of their songs, every listen feels like the first time, and that's after many years of listening! There are a few songs that have been overplayed and I don't get quite as excited over, like "Whole Lotta Love". Even so, I'd rather listen to Zep than most other bands, they never get old. My list would be very close to yours, but I wouldn't be able to choose between "Ramble On" and "Thank You"
It's not dark and slow; it's combining blues and then in your face rock and roll that only LZ can do. 500 yrs. from now, when people want to know what R&R is, this is it! The rock gods, for sure. There are quite a few great rock bands, But, LZ is always going to be on top FOR CENTURIES!!
It is so hard to pick a favorite, but I think in terms of overall history and a place in rock, it would have to be Led Zeppelin I. It was the album that "burst rock at it's seams". It was measuring time in B.C. vs A.C., if I dare. It threw down the marker. They is so much great rock, but this is when it all changed. The only ones that can top Led Zeppelin is Led Zeppelin and that is what they did.
Your face when the bluesy intro ended and the riff just explodes out of the speakers was absolutely priceless Emmanuel. Knew you would love this song👍 Led Zep II is still my favourite album of all time. The rawness, the way they have taken the blues and added something totally different and the way their musicianship goes to another level, showcasing the growth in their individual styles and as a band developing their signature sand.

As people said, Robert played the harmonica (although Jimmy can and has but it's not his forte). A bit of trivia, this song is a reworking of the song originally recorded by Sonny Boy Williamson in 1963. Williamson toured the UK and in the audience was a young Robert Plant who somehow managed to get backstage and steal one of Williamson's harmonicas. This album was recorded almost entirely while on tour; they would duck into whatever recording studio was available in whatever city and lay down tracks. They are unbelievably fortunate none of those master tapes got lost.
Nice reactions. May I give you a recommendation? Give Jethro Tull a try. Thick as a Brick (live version, please) or Aqualung, would be good songs for a start. Peace.
Ok this is not easy but here I think is my top 9 or 10 off of LZ I and LZ II. 1.WIAWSNB 2.Thank You 3.How Many More Times 4.Ramble On 5.Whole Lotta Love 6. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 8. You Shook Me 9. Bing It On Home 10. I Can't Quit You Baby
I remember the crew I grew up with in the early '70's all dug heavy rock [as well as pretty every other genre but mainly heavy rock] and we would fight constantly over which album of our fave bands were great and those not so great. The one thing we had in common was that we demanded the very best from any band and flops were discarded or defended on their various merits, according to our particular tastes. It might seem superfluous now but we took our music appreciation very seriously, primarily because these bands produced ever more demanding music and production of themselves and so we were as tough on them as they were on themselves. It's interesting that those of us who were into Led Zep, weren't big Who fans, Sabbath followers but not Pink Floyd fans and vise versa. Also, early band releases as opposed to later. Much of the time, each of our factions were unreconciled to a consensus, we just enjoyed the battle and the occasional agreeable crossover. There was a tradition, especially in the UK of releasing new albums and touring concurrently, to see how the fans reacted. The best and most ferocious bands usually toured outside of their home base [usually London] to hard drinking hard bluing steel and shipbuilding towns in the north of England, to Scotland, Ireland and to Europe. There, they would find either acceptance or hostility to whatever was the latest musical fare on offer from that band. When the proving was complete, it was the Brits who brought the blues reinvention back to the US, where a thirsty audience had been pandered to for a decade in the early '60's with ''wholesome pop'' The Beatles and the Stones already broke ground there but nothing like the heaviness of Led Zep. [top Led Zep picks for me? Now, that's how to close an album. Hat's off for putting Thank You and What is... high on your last; two of the most underrated tracks on this album. But, personally, I'd have The Lemon Song higher. Emmanuel, if you're going through the Led's catalog in order, which you should be doing, the best is yet to come; in my view, Led Zep Vol 4, and their sixth release, Physical Graffiti (that's a double album that shows their great diversity and their full range of influences). But, of course, Vol. 3 and Houses of the Holy are also masterpieces.
1. Whole Lotta Love (The first Led Zeppelin song I heard and it still gives me the same feeling) 2. The Lemon Song (the music's good and you can't have enough of good music so 6 minutes is fine) 3. Heartbreaker 4. Ramble On 5. Bring it On Home 6. WIAWSNB 7. Thank You (A sweet song but I like to hear all 4 band members playing together) 8. Living Loving Maid 9. Moby Dick (I'm not keen on long drum solos)
Emmanuel - everyone has their own tastes and that's great. I should say this though: LZ2 is known for and considered a real hard rocker that pushed the boundaries of hard rock and defined it. Thank you is a wonderful song and I love it, however to choose it as your number 1 song on the album... well that's your choice. That being said, if you move next to LZ3 and then LZ4, they took a turn with their music, while still keeping some heavy rockers, they expanded into the softer side - developing their own brand of folk rock, for lack of a better term. It's brilliant. Considering your taste, you may be pleasantly surprised with what's to come. Great reactions! ***On second thought, Thank you is so brilliant that it's easy to understand that being anyone's choice.
Wait until hear the live version of this song ... Officially there are the Royal Albert Hall version and How The West Are Won ... Both versions are devastating ... And you will know who the harmonica player is ... 😁
My song ranks of this album : 01. Whole Lotta Love (The arrangement is so cool and the power delivery of this song, especially since the Bonham drumming after the theremin section, Jimmy short solo and drumming again and up to the end ... My God !! ... 02. Ramble On (Again the whole arrangement and, yes, Jones' Bass playing) ... 03. Heartbreaker (The Rocker of this album) 04. Bring It On Home (I love how they sandwich "their own rockin composition" between "Bring It On Home" as the tribute to the legendary blues ... And of course, the harmonica and the drum) 05. Thank You (The lyrics is so beautiful, and so is Jimmy's Solo and Robert's singing) 06. Lemon song 07. What Is And What Should Never Be 08. Moby Dick 09. Living Loving Maid (She's Just A Woman)
1: Bring it on home (it was my very first zeppelin song I heard. My dad can play the harmonica to this song.) 2:Whole Lotta of love ( the guitar solo sticks with you) 3: heart breaker (the riff stays in your head) 4: ramble on (i love the hobbit which the song is written after) 5: thank you (makes you think your in the hills of England) 6: what is (love the blues influence in the song) 8: Moby dick (Bonzo just shows who he is) 9: living loving maid (according to what I've read and heard they never played this song live) I wanna say your reactions have the best ones I've seen. Yes Jimmy Page is my real name.
Hi! I hope you remember me, a while ago I sent you a google drive link where there were some songs from some zepp concerts, the 1st and 2nd album came out in 1969 and there is a 1970 concert at the royal albert Hall, now I will upload more songs in the folders of that concert (stop you to see how they evolved in so little) where by the way is the solo by john bonham "Moby Dick" for you to take a look !!! If you no longer have the link I can send it to you again! just let me know! greetings and what a good channel you have!
Your top three would be mine too. The rest are mixed around. Two would be my favorite. All their songs are epic in my book. Once you hear them all very hard to rank. You just say they’re Rock Gods. We worshiped them all thru the 70s
I was clapping along with you.....but of course I clapped more in their concert...hahahaha....lol...hahahaha....OOOOOOooooooouuuuuuu...weeeee....man....I love folks being introduced to one of the gods of Rock n' Roll.....man...great Stufff!!!! and your "stank face" ...Classic!!!
I remember playing this for my 10 year old son and watching him try to figure out the blues and harmonica.....then the drop......and he was blown away. :) I place Ramble On #1 and I place Thank You as number 6. I think Thank You fits better with the next album. I like bluesy songs, so Thank You is not in that mold. Great song, but it is further down the list. Agree that Zep II is better than I. Zep II just has better songs across the board.
Hey if you like southern blues / rock you should react to the Allman Brothers Band ..their Fillmore East Album...do the whole album....it’s considered to be one of the best live recordings in music history....it’s preserved in the Library of Congress....Duane Allman is also thought as one of the greatest slide guitar players ever .....it’s a 🔥 album
I could never make a ranking of Led Zep songs, because the more I got to know them the more they all tend to be number 1 all together for different reasons, except a few I might not like as much. So to me there's only a top 3 list where most are number 1, some ranked 2 and just a couple are ranked 3.
Bro with Led Zeppelin it is pretty much 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d etc. over their 100+ there would be only a handful of 2s or 3s. Living loving maid is one of them for me.
I'd Like to Know Which Song on L/D 1, Didn't work for You.. But Your Right about 'Thank You', I Truly Never Thought of it as A Good Bye Song at My Funeral Services. It was Always a Love So g to Me.. Yet What A Nice way to Say Thank You to All Your Loved ones that Showed up to Bid you Adue... (
1.Whole lotta love(this song give me chills every time i hear it) 2.Bring it on home(riff is so badass and overall great song) 3.Lemon song 4.Heartbreaker 5.WIAWSNB 6.Ramble on(great song not my taste) 7.Thank you 8.Living loving maid(cool song but doesnt do it for me) 9.Moby dick(opening riff so fuckin good but the drum solo kills it for me)

If you no longer have the link I can send it to you again! just let me know! greetings and what a good channel you have!
by the way the quality is full hd and the audio is high fidelity!
There's an alternate take of Moby Dick somewhere with a snare-led drum solo which I prefer but which seems to have now vanished from YT
You should watch Dazed and Confused at MSG it’s the best 30 minutes you will ever experience
My favorite LZ album is Physical Graffiti
They go from blues to rock in a sec.
Robert Plant plays to blues harp (harmonica)
Moby Dick got blocked so here is my reaction to the final song on the album, enjoy guys!
BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!
robert playing harmonica
Dooo more!!!!
Emmanuel, where did you go???
I could never make a ranking of Led Zep songs, because the more I got to know them the more they all tend to be number 1 all together for different reasons, except a few I might not like as much. So to me there's only a top 3 list where most are number 1, some ranked 2 and just a couple are ranked 3.
Bro with Led Zeppelin it is pretty much 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d etc. over their 100+ there would be only a handful of 2s or 3s. Living loving maid is one of them for me.
scorpions, black sabbath..theirs a plethora full of 70`s- 80`s hard rock..ect..
The best
lemon song 1, Hartbreakr 2, ramble 3
I'd Like to Know Which Song on L/D 1, Didn't work for You.. But Your Right about 'Thank You', I Truly Never Thought of it as A Good Bye Song at My Funeral Services. It was Always a Love So g to Me.. Yet What A Nice way to Say Thank You to All Your Loved ones that Showed up to Bid you Adue... (
Best band ever ❤
shame moby dick got blocked, do the live version from royal albert hall that whole gig is FANTASTIC!
If thank you is your favourite, Ten years gone will blow you away. It’s magic.
Physical graffiti (6th album)
1.Whole lotta love(this song give me chills every time i hear it)
2.Bring it on home(riff is so badass and overall great song)
3.Lemon song
4.Heartbreaker
5.WIAWSNB
6.Ramble on(great song not my taste)
7.Thank you
8.Living loving maid(cool song but doesnt do it for me)
9.Moby dick(opening riff so fuckin good but the drum solo kills it for me)
Ramble on one of the best songs they wrote!
You’re nowhere near a Led Zep fan
@@tonyd1185 never said it was a bad song it just doesnt hit to me
@@tonyd1185 "you have a different opinion than me so that means you are less of a fan" shutup man i have my own opinions im probably more of a fan than you
